As soon as Enzo closed the door, he froze at the sound of a voice behind him.
"What are you doing?"
Spinning around, his eyes darted to the bed, then to Adeline, who stood by the dresser with her arms crossed and a suspicious look on her face.
"Weren't you just—" he murmured, gesturing to the bed. Giving his head a little shake, he let out a small sigh. "Never mind. It was Andrei. Just had some business matters to discuss."
Adeline turned away, now uninterested in his explanation. "Whatever," she murmured, heading toward the bathroom. Enzo sighed in relief once the door clicked shut behind her.
