Phoenix POV:
Males, they really don't think like us women, do they?
I stayed next to the door even though I could have heard their conversation from miles away if I focused hard enough.
I shake my head with a grin on my face knowing I have duped them.
I was tired of never being kept in the loop yet again.
What felt like a victory to me suddenly turned into pure agony as I heard my mate speak to my other mate.
"I will reject her and leave the settlement after I help her through the heat. My destiny was simply to help lead her to you, I know this now....." As soon as I heard him say that, his voice faded out.
Desperation curled around me.
Raph sounded emotionless and empty.
I could feel it. I could sense the truth of his words and his mind reeling with sad notions and emptiness.
After what we did, he didn't want me anymore.
My life was like a never-ending soap opera.
