Justina's Point Of View
I turned back and saw a handsome man walking towards me.
Woah, he's hot.
Wait really? Snap out of it Justina. You don't even know him or where the hell you are, are you nuts?
I mentally slapped myself and pushed away my silly thoughts.
"Are you okay?" He asked, his voice deep and yet so soothing.
Damn!!!!
"I-i um... I." Wait, why am I stuttering?!
"You alright?"
"Yes! Yes, I am. I'm very okay?"
I sound crazy...
His lips formed a small frown as he stepped closer towards me. I shivered a bit as he kept coming closer I moved back but his voice stopped me.
"Don't move." He said with a stern face, his voice suddenly cold as the night making me scared.
Does he want to hurt me? Or KILL ME?!
"I-" Before I could finish my sentence he passed his arm through my side and grabbed something, I turned to look back and gasped when I saw a snake in his grip.
How did that? What the...
He squeezed the snake and threw it into the forest, his aim was so good I believed the snake would die immediately due to the force.
"Sorry, because of the forest we kind of have unwanted guests sometimes, Like that one was about to attack you." He said as he went to a nearby tap to wash his hands.
"Thank you."
"Nah, it's nothing."
I stood there holding on to my bags filled with food, unable to say a word properly, all my life I thought Jasper was the hottest man but this man.... Proving that I was 100 percent wrong.
Wait- he could be married and-
"So where are you headed? I have never seen you around here before, you're new?"
"Sorta. I live with Dawn."
"Hm Dawn? Sounds familiar."
Wait... Was it right to just tell him? Well, he did save me from being bitten by a snake, didn't he?
From the corner of my eye, I saw a young woman running towards him and wrapped her arms around his waist.
"Bane, are you okay?"
"Yes, I am." He smiled as he looked at the woman.
Of course... He was too handsome to be single...
"Who is that?" The lady finally noticed me.
"Oh, I don't know, she seemed lost."
"Oh dear," she left and walked towards me. "Are you lost?"
"Sorta," I shrugged. "I wanted to take a shortcut but unfortunately I ended up here."
"Where do you live?" She asked her voice laced with concern.
For some odd reason, my lips suddenly went dry, I used my tongue to lick them before replying but before I could Bane I suppose? Replied.
"She said something about Dawn, sounded familiar but I don't know."
"Oh! Dawn!! I know her, you must be her sister right?"
Sister- wait... Oh yeah, that's true, Dawn had to lie for my sake, or else I'd have been killed.
"Yes yes, I am!" I nodded.
"Come child, let me take you to her, dong worry I'm kind of a close friend."
"Okay." At first, I hesitated but later gave up and followed her with Bane behind us.
Now I feel so terrible for gawking at someone else's man. I hung my head low trying to avoid their gaze as my face would light up in embarrassment whenever Bane spoke.
After a few minutes we arrived at Dawn's apartment, I smiled awkwardly when I saw Dawn outside who looked a bit pissed.
"Sorry, I had to get some stuff and got lost... "I chuckled nervously.
"Want some chips?" I said as I brought one out of my pocket. "I got your favorite."
"And I was worried sick!" She half yelled at me.
"I'm sorry okay?"
Her forehead which was furrowed relaxed and so did her facial expression. "I'm just glad, you're okay."
"Thank you for bringing her back." She thanked Bane and the lady.
"It's nothing dear," the woman smiled "Just be careful more sweetheart." She turned to me.
"Sure thanks."
"Mind coming in for coffee?" Dawn asked them as I opened the door.
"Why of course!"
The four of us sat in the living room talking, well the three of them. The woman's name is Carol and she is 13 years older than her mate Bane who is 33.
Wow... I thought to myself, how crazy life can be? Imagine being almost old enough to birth to your mate. Add 6 years to her age at 13 and she could birth.
I laughed softly as I thought about it, but it was cute and their age difference didn't show. I was happy as I much how Bane and Carol displayed their affection even in the smallest way, it seemed so beautiful.
I wish I had that.
"You okay Tina?" Dawn nudged my arm.
"Ugh, sure." I nodded, her eyes knew I was lying but she decided not to push it and let me be.
When Bane and Carol's attention was fixed on something else, Dawn turned to me and mouthed. "We will talk later okay?"
"Sure, but I need to rest."
I stood up and waved at Bane and Carol. "Thank you so much for today, but I need to rest."
"Please do, your baby needs it." Carol smiled. I noticed her tears gathered by the corner of her eye but she wiped them away.
That's strange.....
"Thank you." I rubbed my tummy and went to my room, with a sigh I lay on the bed feeling somewhat unsettling. I picked up my phone and called my mother.
At first, I was hesitant but I just needed to hear her voice, it seemed unreal to finally say the word "mom" or believe that I was something special. All my life I always thought I was a helpless omega.
But my past proves otherwise and I'm ready to know everything and move forward.
I'm stronger than this.
And I deserve better.
Maybe a man that loves me and this child.... It seemed like a reality though, maybe I'm not cut up for a love life.
