Chapter 1 - The heavenly realm's downfall

In the heart of the heavenly realm, a cataclysmic battle raged on. The Demon King, Jiǎo Lóng, stood at the forefront of the chaos, his dark energy swirling around him like a vortex. Beside him, his two trusted allies, Xiǎo Míng and Dà Míng, clashed swords with the Heavenly Lords, Tiān Shàng and Liú Huáng.

The sound of clashing steel echoed through the realm as the two sides exchanged blows. Tiān Shàng, with his sword of pure light, parried Xiǎo Míng's swift strikes, while Liú Huáng, wielding a staff imbued with the power of the elements, countered Dà Míng's crushing blows.

Jiǎo Lóng, however, remained untouched, his dark energy shielding him from the Heavenly Lords' attacks. With a wave of his hand, he summoned a maelstrom of shadowy tendrils that threatened to engulf the entire realm.

"You fools," Jiǎo Lóng sneered, his voice like thunder. "You think you can stop me? I will reduce this realm to ashes and rule over the ruins!"

Tiān Shàng and Liú Huáng fought valiantly, but they were vastly outnumbered. As the battle raged on, the heavenly realm began to crumble. Buildings shattered, trees splintered, and the very fabric of reality began to unravel.

In a desperate bid to turn the tide, Tiān Shàng and Liú Huáng combined their powers, unleashing a blast of energy that shook the foundations of the realm. But Jiǎo Lóng was relentless, absorbing the attack and counterattacking with a wave of dark energy that sent the Heavenly Lords flying.

As the realm teetered on the brink of destruction, a figure appeared on the outskirts of the battle. It was Língyè, a young fairy with hair as white as snow and eyes that shone like the stars. She was a novice in the art of time manipulation, but the Heavenly Lords had chosen her for a crucial mission.

"Língyè, it's time," Tiān Shàng called out, his voice weak but urgent. "You must go back in time and prevent this catastrophe from occurring. Find a way to stop Jiǎo Lóng before he awakens!"

Língyè nodded, her eyes welling up with tears. She knew the risks of time travel, but she was willing to take the gamble to save the heavenly realm.

With a deep breath, Língyè focused her energy and reached out to the fabric of time. The air around her began to distort, and a shimmering portal materialized before her.

"Go, Língyè!" Liú Huáng shouted, his voice fading into the distance. "Save our realm!"

With a final glance at the battle-scarred landscape, Língyè stepped through the portal and disappeared into the annals of time.

As the portal closed, the heavenly realm succumbed to the darkness, consumed by the very evil that Língyè had been sent to prevent. The Demon King, Jiǎo Lóng, stood victorious, his malevolent presence casting a shadow over the ruins of the realm.

But in the mortal realm, a new chapter was about to begin. "My lady, you're awake," a soft voice whispered beside her.

Lingye's eyes fluttered open, and she found herself in an unfamiliar room. A maid, dressed in elegant silk robes, smiled at her with relief.

"Where...where am I?" Lingye asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

The maid's expression turned concerned. "You don't remember, my lady?"

Lingye nodded her head with a no, and the maid's expression turned worried. "My lady, you don't remember?" she asked, her voice laced with concern.

Lingye shook her head again, feeling a sense of unease. The maid's eyes darted around the room, as if searching for someone to intervene.

"You fell into the pond, my lady," the maid explained, her voice gentle. "You almost drowned, but thank God Prince Xiuming saved you."

Lingye's eyes widened in surprise. "Who's Prince Xiuming?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "And who am I?"

The maid's expression turned hesitant, and she reached out to touch Lingye's forehead. "My lady, are you sick? Why can't you remember? You are General Ming's daughter..."

The maid's words hung in the air, and Lingye's mind reeled with questions. General Ming's daughter? She had no recollection of that. The only memories she had were of her life as a fairy in the heavenly realm, and her mission to prevent the Demon King's awakening.

"Who is General Ming?" Lingye asked, her voice laced with confusion.

The maid's expression turned worried. "My lady, you really don't remember? General Ming is your father, one of the most respected warriors in the empire. You are his only child, and you've grown up in the imperial city."

Lingye shook her head, feeling a sense of unease. "I don't remember any of that. What about Prince Xiuming? Who is he?"

The maid's face lit up with a smile. "Prince Xiuming is the Emperor's youngest son, and he's a skilled warrior. He's the one who saved you from drowning in the pond. You were out for a walk in the gardens, and you must have slipped and fallen into the water."

Lingye's eyes widened in surprise. "I was walking in the gardens? I don't remember that either."

The maid's expression turned concerned. "My lady, maybe you should rest some more. You've been through a traumatic experience, and it's not uncommon for people to lose their memories after a near-drowning incident."

Lingye nodded, feeling a sense of fatigue wash over her. Maybe the maid was right. Maybe she just needed to rest, and her memories would return.

As she lay back on the bed, Lingye couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. She was a fairy, sent back in time to prevent a catastrophe. But now, she found herself in a human body, with no memories of her past life.

The maid bustled around the room, pouring Lingye a cup of tea and adjusting the blankets. "My lady, I'll send for the physician to come and check on you. Maybe he can help you regain your memories."

Lingye nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards the maid. "Thank you," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

The maid smiled and patted Lingye's hand. "Don't worry, my lady. You'll be back to normal in no time."

As the maid left the room, Lingye couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. She was trapped in a human body, with no memories of her past life. And she had a feeling that time was running out.

Just then, the door to the room slid open, and a tall, handsome young man entered. He had piercing blue eyes and jet-black hair, and he wore a white robe with a golden sash.

"Lady Ming," he said, his voice low and smooth. "I'm glad to see you're awake. I was worried sick about you."

Lingye's eyes widened in surprise. "Prince Xiuming?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

The prince smiled and nodded. "Yes, I'm Prince Xiuming. And you, Lady Ming, are the daughter of General Ming. We've met before, but I suppose you don't remember."

Lingye shook her head, feeling a sense of embarrassment. "I'm sorry, Prince Xiuming. I don't remember anything."

The prince's expression turned sympathetic. "Don't worry, Lady Ming. You've been through a traumatic experience. Your memories will return in time."

Lingye nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards the prince. "Thank you, Prince Xiuming," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

The prince smiled and sat down beside her. "You're welcome, Lady Ming. Now, let's talk about something else. How are you feeling?"

Lingye thought for a moment before responding. "I'm feeling a bit confused, I suppose. I don't remember anything about my life before this."

The prince nodded sympathetically. "I understand. But don't worry, Lady Ming. We'll help you regain your memories. And in the meantime, I'll make sure you're safe and comfortable."

Lingye smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards the prince. "Thank you, Prince Xiuming," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

As the prince smiled and patted her hand, Lingye couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. She was trapped in a human body, with no memories of her past life. And she had a feeling that time was running out.

But for now, she was safe. And with Prince Xiuming by her side, she felt a sense of hope that she hadn't felt in a long time.

As the prince stood up to leave, Lingye called out to him. "Prince Xiuming?"

"Yes, Lady Ming?" he replied, turning back to Lingye. "What's my father like?" Lingye asked.

Prince Xiuming's expression turned thoughtful. "General Ming is a great warrior and a just man. He is respected by all who know him, and he is fiercely loyal to the Emperor and the empire. As for what he is like as a person...I think you will find that he is kind and wise, but also fiercely protective of those he cares about."

Lingye nodded, taking in the prince's words. She was eager to learn more about her father and her life before her memories were lost.

Just then, the maid returned with a tray of food and drink. "My lady, I brought you some refreshments. Please, try to eat something."

Lingye nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards the maid. She took a sip of the tea and nibbled on a pastry, feeling a sense of comfort wash over her.

As she ate, Prince Xiuming sat down beside her again. "Lady Ming, I have to ask, do you remember anything about your life before...before the accident?"

Lingye shook her head, feeling a sense of frustration. "No, I don't remember anything. It's as if my memories just...vanished."

Prince Xiuming's expression turned thoughtful. "I see. Well, don't worry, Lady Ming. We will do everything we can to help you regain your memories. In the meantime, I will make sure you are safe and comfortable."

Lingye smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards the prince. "Thank you, Prince Xiuming. I appreciate your kindness."

As the prince smiled and stood up to leave, Lingye couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder. Who was she, really? And what had happened to her memories of the mortal Lingye?
