Chapter 1 - Rebirth of the Ninth Princess

It was crowded, suffocating, and impossible to breathe.

Yuanjiu wanted to adjust her posture but found she couldn't move at all, leaving her feeling disoriented.

What was going on?

Wasn't she supposed to be dead?

Then, an inexplicable force pushed her forward, as if squeezing her out from somewhere.

A rush of air suddenly filled her nasal cavity, making her entire body uncomfortable, and a strange wailing sound came from her mouth.

What… what was happening?

Not long after that, A high-pitched excited voice echoed nearby: "Your Highness, it's a princess!"

The voice then seemed to choke with emotion.

A princess...

Too exhausted to move or even think, she could only let a pair of large hands lift her and place her into warm water.

The Glgentle hands began cleaning her tiny body.

"Your Highness, the ninth princess is so well-behaved."

She barely managed to open her eyes and saw a kind, middle-aged woman gazing at her tenderly.

When the woman noticed her eyes opening, she froze in surprise.

"Your Highness, the ninth princess's eyes are so beautiful..."

The woman had her hair neatly tied back and wore a simple yet immaculate palace outfit.

Another young woman leaned in, her eyes full of astonishment. "Wow, that's true, the ninth princess eyes are so stunning, they are sparkling like jewels."

Yuanjiu closed her eyes again and quickly understood her situation.

She chuckled bitterly—rebirth, was it?

As for her eyes, she knew they must be the same as in her previous life—seven-colored glass-like eyes that emitted a dazzling rainbow light when she was tired or using power, though ordinarily, they appeared as ordinary dark pupils.

The one addressed as "Your Highness" softly hummed. "Bring her to me."

"Just a moment, Your Highness." The older woman carefully dried her, slipped a small cloth wrap onto her, and then placed her on something soft.

How humiliating, wearing only a single piece of fabric.

Even knowing she was now an infant, Yuanjiu still felt awkward and shifted slightly in discomfort.

"Your Highness, someone should inform His Majesty. After all, the ninth princess is his child too…" The young woman spoke indignantly.

A weak voice replied, tinged with bitterness, "I have already been banished to the Cold Palace. How could he care about this child? Aunt Yue, just inform the head eunuch of the harem. Whether His Majesty comes or not, I no longer care... Xue'er, please feed the child. The little one must be hungry by now..."

With her eyes still closed, Yuanjiu heard the young woman respond softly, "Yes."

Then, another pair of slender hands gently lifted her small body.

A faint, pleasant fragrance reached her nose—this must be her wet nurse, Xue'er.

Soon, her mouth was guided to a nipple.

Despite her distaste, she had no choice but to feed, all the while drowsily thinking: So, my mother isn't favored…

After feeding indifferently, she heard Aunt Yue's footsteps fade away.

A while later, two sets of footsteps approached, followed by a sharp male voice announcing a decree.
