Chapter 2 - [ Confusion ]

...Alright, what happened?

Why am I sitting now?

Where the hell am I?

Who's room is this?

Why am I holding my phone—wait, this isn't mine!

My clothes—this isn't from me either!

Wha—

I immediately stood up and investigated my surroundings. A few seconds ago, I was at my kitchen. Now, I'm in someone else's house.

Compared to my apartment, the room was completely furnished. A small rectangular table at the center sitting on top of a carpet, a large and comfy grey couch, and a wide flat screen TV hanging on the wall in front of me.

The scent of paint permeated throughout the room. After some searching, I found a bucket of blue paint with a paintbrush inside of it. It seems like the owner of this house was renovating the walls; he was just getting started.

To my right, was a window. I opened up the half-closed blinds and looked outside.

...This wasn't my neighborhood.

Did I get teleported or something?! How?! I—I don't know...

...Oh no—is the owner here?! What if they mistake me as a thief?!

I need to get out of here real q—

.

.

.

"The fuck?"

I saw an entirely different dude in the mirror...

...and it was me.

"Who's this son of a bitch?!"

Where's my beautiful and original face?! Why do I look like one of those depressed emo guys from an anime?!

What happened to me?!

"...T—This can't be happening..."

This can't be real. This isn't real, right? I became somebody else? This guy and me...switching bodies?!

I need to know where the hell am I ASAP!

I opened up "my" phone and... after turning it on and off again, I knew that this guy didn't even have a password set. Anyways, I looked for any clues on the menu and...

...I saw it. I saw the date and the weather widget app above some other miscellaneous apps.

.

[ 4:32 PM — Sun, May 7 — 2nd Major Residential Area : 29°C — Alpha City : 29°C ]

...Alpha...City?...?...?...?

...Why is it named like that?

There's no "Alpha City" on Earth!? Was it just a error?! I need to check again.

Turned on "my" phone and searched for the "Maps" app. When I did, I immediately opened it up and looked at my location.

.

[ Block 21 — 2nd Major Residential Area ]

"...Oh my god..."

I zoomed out to see the bigger picture.

.

[ Alpha City ]

There were also other cities on the map named Beta, Gamma, Delta, and more; all named from the Greek Alphabet. Alpha City was at the center of them all.

I zoomed out even further with a blank expression on my face.

.

I saw it.

A single massive continent, and a massive ocean on the other side of it.

...Really? Are you kidding me?

...

WHERE THE FUCK AM I?!!!

I ran out of the room, into the hallway. I was in an apartment building, so I searched for the stairs. When I found them, I went down to the ground floor.

Emerging out from the building, I hastily looked around. I felt like I was on drugs or something—was this adrenaline? Never mind that.

Nothing was familiar to me. Everything looked repetitive. The buildings—they all looked the same, and they stretched on for eternity.

The locals—obviously I didn't recognize them either. They all looked at me with concern, so I ran away while scanning my surroundings.

I dashed over here, over there, backtracked—I was trying to find something familiar. Just something that would somewhat calm me down. I'm all alone here! What place even is this?! Does this even exist?!

...

After a while, I was tired. But fortunately, I did find something...

It was a massive building complex that stood out from the massive liminal residential area. Chained fences surrounded it entirely with barbed wire on top.

I saw a couple of individuals inside; didn't pay attention to them too much though.

Finally, after circling the entire thing, I stopped and stared at the entrance.

I looked up and saw the sign, which made me fall down onto my knees.

I chuckled in disbelief.

"...Wow..."

( "ASTERISK NATIONAL ACADEMY" )

...It all makes sense now...

I knew that name. That half-assed name for this place? I made it.

To be clear, I wrote it.

It was from that unfinished story that I was currently editing back at my place.

...I clenched my fists after remembering something...

"...My stove exploded on me, didn't it?"
