So, here's the story.
About a decade ago, I was into reading light and web novels. After reading so much of them, I learned the tropes that were associated with the stories and tried to made fun of them.
I opened up my notepad and began to write. At first, I didn't know what to add, so I just threw in whatever I could think of at that moment, then just reassembled and connected them together.
Undercover demons and angels fighting secretly everywhere? Check.
Exorcists fighting ghosts and evil souls? Check.
A secret hero organization meant to deal with criminals and such? Check.
A fantasy world with elves, dwarves, magic, and chivalrous knights? That exists in another dimension.
Time travelers? Yeah.
Powerful companies with extremely powerful heirs? Mhm.
Lone characters that possess incredible fighting prowess and skill? Yes!
God disappearing? What could go wrong?
...and I forgot about the others.
Now, let's talk about the plot of this mess.
The goal for all of these things was to get the "Universal Star," which was located in a massive dungeon somewhere under Alpha City. It was made by God itself and was able to grant the one who finds it first a wish.
Information about the Universal Star was revealed to the entire world after God's sudden disappearance. The archangel "Gabriel" announced its existence to the leaders of the most powerful organizations on Earth and beyond. The reason for this was that this was "God's final will" towards his creations.
What was the reason for his disappearance? Was there a great incomprehensible evil that he needed to deal with somewhere far away? Was the entire universe falling apart and he needed to fix it for a while? The true answer to that was...
...boredom. Managing balance and keeping his creations in check was making him bored, so he wanted something new. He wanted to see the reaction of all of his creations when he disappeared and what they would do without his "supervision." To spice things up, he made the Universal Star so that they would all fight each other for it.
An item that would grant one's wish? Surely somebody's gonna want to get that sweet-sweet fantasy dream of theirs to come true, right?
And so, after telling Gabriel his "final will," he dipped out and hid in his pocket dimension where there was a large screen, a comfy seat, and an unlimited popcorn machine.
After that, "The Great Trials" began.
.
50 years have passed, and still no clue as to where that item was hidden.
Entering the story, was our protagonist named Meldin. An extremely un(lucky) guy who has blue hair, blue eyes, and a somewhat good-looking face. Currently 18 years old and is enrolled in Asterisk National Academy. It was your average school with a ton of students who are eager to learn about the world and gain experience...
…but extremely shady shit was going on behind the scenes. Demons and angels battling it out somewhere behind the school premises, undercover individuals with exorcist powers dealing with evil souls, numerous assassins trying to kill VIP students while in their dorms, and more.
He enters his class, and is greeted with a wide variety of characters, ranging from your typical generic background individuals, to absolute bigshots who can change the future of the world. Undercover fantasy beings are also included here.
Being the un(lucky) guy he was, he always gets into trouble every single day. From tripping and flopping down onto the floor, falling down the stairs, stepping on some dog shit, getting slapped by a girl after seeing her changing clothes in the storage room, and worst of all, pissing off a son or daughter of a company CEO or something, or maybe even the school principal. He somehow narrowly avoids being caught in the crossfire of the many fantastical fights that occur around him. And somehow, he doesn't even notice half of them!
It's a wonder how he still hasn't been expelled or killed yet.
One day, he stumbles (and falls) upon something extraordinary. A secret passage to an underground complex filled with... interesting texts on the walls. After about an hour of exploring, he finds a large room with a large door. Being the un(lucky) dude he was, he suddenly spots a spider on his shoulder.
He chaotically tried to remove it, causing him to accidentally press a secret button when he bumped into the wall to his right. The door slowly opens and he spots a glowing item on a pedestal at the center.
It was the Universal Star, and...
...that was it.
I stopped working on it after 10 chapters to focus on my fanfictions.
This story was just a mind refresher made to fix my writer's block. After that, I never touched it ever again. It was stuck on hiatus for years, waiting to be edited and finished.
I never knew that I would return to this story after a while...
...and I also never knew that I would be sent into the story after suddenly dying...
...I—I never should've added more draft notes to that story...
How the hell am I going to survive the chaos that's about to happen in the future?
If you're wondering what I added to that before I died, well—I'll show it to you in its full glory.
Brace yourselves! For you're now about to witness my...
...writer notes...

I...aaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
NO! NO—THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!!
Why did I have to get transported here?! Why not my other stories?! Those were a HUNDRED times better than this one!
I haven't even made a proper title for this one yet!
"Life Of A Character" — More like, WHAT THE HELL?!
.
"Haaaah..."
Okay, calm yourself down Oliver. You have the knowledge on what's about to happen in this place. If you take advantage of that, you can climb the power hierarchy and...
...Honestly, I can't even imagine myself holding a candle to those freaks. They're all too overpowered! I made them that way—I'm gonna fucking screw myself to a wall...
Okay. I need to think of a strategy ASAP.
First, I need to investigate "myself." Know his name, then use that information to get into the academy.
Second, I need to form some connections. Friendships, contracts, deals with the devil or angel, whatever you name it! I need to find that powerful ninja or exorcist dude and get friendly with them, then I'll give some advice to both of them so that they could get stronger!
Third, if possible, I need to also get stronger, and the only thing that would help me with that would be the Universal Star. It's the only overpowered item in the entire story. Nothing else comes close to it.
...And speaking of close, the Universal Star... was near my location...
Right under the academy was the massive dungeon I've mentioned earlier, and that's where the item was located.
I need to get that thing on my hands ASAP. I'll never know when the shitty plotline I've made in a whim will come to bite me back in the ass.
...But first, let's make some preparations first back at my "apartment."
Just wait you freaks, I'll be conquering all of you with my overpowered abilities in NO TIME!
