Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Unsettling Encounters

Lena walked through the school hallway, her eyes scanning the crowded corridor. She hadn't slept well, her mind racing with thoughts of Kaelin and the strange compulsion he'd used on her.

As she turned a corner, she spotted Kaelin standing by his locker. Their eyes met, and Lena felt a jolt of electricity run through her veins. She quickly looked away, trying to compose herself.

Kaelin, however, seemed drawn to her. He walked towards her, a curious expression on his face.

"Hey, Lena," he said, his voice low and smooth. "How are you?"

Lena shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant. "I'm fine, thanks."

Kaelin's eyes narrowed. "You seem a bit... distant. Is everything okay?"

Lena forced a smile. "Yeah, everything's fine. Just a bit tired, that's all."

Kaelin's gaze lingered on hers, as if he didn't quite believe her. Lena felt a shiver run down her spine as he turned and walked away.

As Kaelin walked away, Lena's eyes scanned the hallway until they landed on Asher. She felt a shiver run down her spine as she remembered the argument between Asher and Kaelin at the woods the other day.

Asher's eyes met hers, and Lena sensed a spark of recognition. She wondered if Asher knew more about her than he was letting on.

Lena's mind began to whirl with questions. What if Asher was also supernatural? What if he was the same kind of monster as Kaelin?

Without thinking, Lena made a reckless decision. She slipped into the nearest bathroom and locked herself in a stall. Her hands trembled as she rummaged through her bag for a small knife.

She hesitated for a moment, then made a small cut on her finger. The blood welled up, and Lena felt a surge of adrenaline.

She took a deep breath, then stepped out of the stall and made her way back to Asher. Her heart pounded in her chest as she approached him.

Asher," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Asher turned to her, his eyes narrowing. "What do you want?" he asked gruffly.

Lena held out her injured finger, watching Asher's reaction. But to her surprise, he didn't flinch. He didn't even seem to notice the blood.

Asher's expression remained unreadable. "What's that supposed to prove?" he asked, his tone dismissive.

Lena felt a surge of frustration. Why wasn't Asher reacting the way she expected?

Lena's eyes flashed with anger as she realized Asher wasn't reacting the way she expected. "Never mind," she muttered, turning to leave.

Asher's gaze lingered on her, his expression unreadable. What was she trying to prove? he wondered.

The scene shifted to the science classroom, where Lena and Asher were paired up for a project. Kaelin was paired with someone else, but his eyes kept drifting towards Lena.

As they worked, Asher and Kaelin exchanged a tense glance. The air was thick with unspoken hostility.

Kaelin's eyes narrowed, his senses on high alert. He could smell Lena's blood, the scent driving him wild. He felt his control slipping, his body tensing.

Asher noticed Kaelin's distress and his eyes locked onto Kaelin's. He remembered the cut on Lena's finger and realized Kaelin must be able to smell the blood.

Without hesitation, Asher created a distraction, knocking over a nearby beaker. The noise shattered the tension, and Kaelin's eyes snapped towards Asher.

"Sorry about that," Asher said, his voice low. "Why don't you go clean up the mess while I finish this project?"

Kaelin's gaze lingered on Asher, but he nodded and stood up, his movements stiff. As he walked away, Asher watched him, his eyes narrowed in concern.

Asher excused himself from the science lab and followed Kellyn out into the hallway. He spotted Kaelin heading into the bathroom and quickly followed him.

Asher slammed Kaelin against the bathroom wall. "You're so reckless, Asher hissed. Do you want to expose us? The girl still remembers what you are and who you are. She knows what you're capable of."

Kaelin's face darkened. "What are you talking about, you wet dog? You're not making any sense."

Asha's smile was cold. "Don't play dumb, Kaelin.

I saw what happened in the classroom. You're getting sloppy Darkshadow. You're going to get us all killed."

Kaelin's eyes narrowed. "What's your problem? Are you stalking me? Are you working with that warlock? What do you want from me?"

Asher's grip on Kaelin's shirt tightened. "You son of a bitch! Are you seriously that stupid? Why did she cut her finger on purpose? Why did she test me like that?"

Kaelin's eyes flashed with defiance. "I compelled her, I'm certain of it."How did you know that she cut her hand on purpose?

Asher's eyes flashed with anger. "You're really asking me that?

Asher's eyes flashed with anger, and the two of them clashed, their fists flying as they fought in the cramped bathroom.

Kaelin glared at Asher, his chest heaving. Asher ? Why do you have a tattoo that looks exactly like mine?"

Asha's eyes narrowed. "What are you talking about? This is my birthmark."

Kaelin's eyes widened as he stared at Asha's tattoo. "No, it can't be... That's my birthmark."

Asha's face contorted in confusion. "What do you mean? This is mine."

As they gazed at each other's tattoos, a strange sensation washed over them. Their heads began to throb with severe headaches.

Asha's eyes glazed over, memories flooding his mind. He recalled the woman in the woods, her words echoing in his mind: "You have a past with Kaelin, one you don't remember."

Kaelin's face twisted in agony, his mind racing with fragmented memories. He felt like he was trying to recall something, but it remained just out of reach.

Just then, Kaelin stirred, groaning as he sat up.

Asher's eyes locked onto Kaelin's, a sense of unease settling in the pit of his stomach.

This wasn't over. Not by a long shot.

As the pain intensified, both Asha and Kellyn slumped to the ground, unconscious.

The bathroom fell silent, the only sound the heavy breathing of the two prone figures.
