Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Awakening

Asher's eyes fluttered open, and he was met with a sea of curious faces. Students stood around him, their eyes wide with concern and fascination. Lena stood at the back of the crowd, her eyes fixed intently on Asher.

Kaelin lay beside him, slowly coming to. Asher's gaze locked onto Kaelin's, a mix of emotions swirling inside him.

Cherry, the popular cheerleader, pushed her way to the front of the crowd. "What's wrong, Kaelin? Are you okay?" she asked, her voice laced with concern.

Kaelin's gaze flicked to Cherry's, his expression unreadable. "I'm fine," he muttered, his voice detached.

As Cherry reached out to help Kaelin up, he pushed her hand away. "I said I'm fine," he repeated, his tone cold.

Cherry's face fell, but she quickly recovered. "Okay, sorry," she said, taking a step back.

Lena watched the exchange, her mind whirling with thoughts. Does Asher know what Kaelin is? she wondered. Why are they fighting so much?

She thought back to the incident in the school hallway, where she had tested Asher with her blood. What is Asher? she thought. Is he immune to supernatural powers? Or is he something more?

As the crowd began to disperse, the principal, Mr. Johnson, appeared, his face stern. "What's going on here?" he demanded.

Asher and Kaelin exchanged a wary glance. "Nothing, sir," Asher said, his voice neutral.

Mr. Johnson's eyes narrowed. "Nothing? Then why is the bathroom in shambles? And what's with the blood on the ground?"

Kaelin shrugged. "We don't know, sir."

Mr. Johnson's expression turned skeptical. "Save it for detention, boys. You're both coming with me."

As Mr. Johnson led them away, Lena watched, her mind still racing with questions. What secrets were Asher and Kaelin hiding? And what would happen next?

As the principal led Asher and Kaelin away, the students in the hallway began to buzz with excitement.

"What happened?" someone asked.

"I don't know, but it looked intense," another student replied.

Cherry was walking back to her classroom, a smug look on her face. She had enjoyed watching Asher and Kaelin get into trouble.

As she entered the classroom, she spotted Lena , who was sitting at her desk, looking furious.

Cherry couldn't resist taking a jab at her.

Hey, lena, what's wrong? You look like you've lost your last friend," Cherry sneered.

Lena eyes flashed with anger, but she bit back a retort. She had been texting on her phone during class, and when the teacher, Mrs. Thompson, asked her to put it away, lena refused.

"I'm just checking something real quick," lena said, her tone dismissive.

Mrs. Thompson's face turned red with anger. "Lena, you need to respect the rules. Give me your phone now."

Lena hesitated, but eventually handed over her phone. However, her attitude didn't go unnoticed, and Mrs. Thompson sent her to detention as well.

Lena stomped out of the classroom, furious. She had been looking forward to meeting up with Aria after school, but now she was stuck in detention.

As she walked down the hallway, she saw Cherry and her friends snickering and pointing at her. Cherry had been bullying Lena for since 1st grade, and it seemed like she wasn't going to let up anytime soon.

Lena's eyes narrowed, and she quickened her pace. She couldn't wait to get to detention and get away from Cherry's toxic behavior.

Lena stormed out of the classroom, furious. She couldn't believe she was being sent to detention.

When she arrived at the detention room, she saw Asher and Kaelin already seated. The principal, Mr. Johnson, looked up from his desk and nodded at Lena.

"Welcome, Lena. You're just in time. We're about to start detention."

Lena took a seat, trying to ignore the tension between Asher and Kaelin. She had no idea what had happened between them, but she was about to find out.

As the three of them sat in silence, lena couldn't help but steal glances at Asher and Kaelin. There was something about them that drew her in, something that made her feel like she was caught in the middle of a storm.

Asher's eyes scanned the detention room, his gaze lingering on Lena before shifting to Kaelin. He tried to focus on the conversation, but a throbbing pain on his back distracted him.

He shifted uncomfortably in his seat, trying to ignore the ache. But as the minutes ticked by, the pain only intensified. Asher's brow furrowed in confusion. He was a werewolf; he should be healing by now.

Kaelin's eyes narrowed, his gaze locked onto Asher's back. "What's wrong?" he asked, his voice low.

Asher hesitated, unsure how to respond. He didn't want Lena to know about their supernatural abilities. "Nothing," he muttered.

But Kaelin's eyes remained fixed on Asher's back. "You're still bleeding," he said, his tone laced with concern.

Asher's eyes darted to Lena, who was watching them with a curious expression. He tried to brush it off. "I'm fine."

But Kaelin's gaze didn't waver. "What happened?" he asked again.

Asher shook his head. "I don't know."

Lena's eyes softened, and she stood up. "Let me take a look," she said, her voice gentle.

Asher's instincts screamed at him to push her away, but his body seemed to relax in her presence. He felt a strange sense of calmness wash over him as Lena approached him.

As she examined his wound, Asher's eyes locked onto hers. He felt like he was drowning in their depths, unable to look away. Kaelin's eyes narrowed, a flicker of jealousy dancing in their depths.

But Asher didn't notice. He was too busy trying to understand the strange sensations coursing through his body. He had never felt this way before, like he was melting into someone's touch.

Lena's fingers brushed against his skin, sending shivers down his spine. Asher's heart pounded in his chest, his senses on high alert.

He felt alive, like he had never felt before. And it scared him.

Little did she know, this was just the beginning of their love triangle
