Ron nodded and continued, "Father, at first, when the lightning gathered in your fingers, it was weak and flickering. But then it grew stronger and brighter, which must be the result of training nature transformation. It should be difficult for someone to release a ninjutsu of that intensity without mastering it."
He paused, eyes gleaming with understanding. "After that, it changed into a more fluid, almost gaseous state. That must be a deeper level of nature transformation. So for the Lightning Chakra Mode, aside from the visible lightning that enhances power, the secret must be the flowing, gaseous lightning mixed with chakra!"
The Third Raikage nodded. "Yes. If you want to advance further in the path of Lightning Chakra Mode, you must master this kind of nature transformation. But it's extremely difficult. While most ninjas use nature transformation to enhance their elements making fire hotter, lightning more intense, wind sharper, earth tougher, and water more abundant true mastery goes beyond that."
He crossed his arms, his gaze steady. "Most bloodline limits require mastering a more specific form of nature transformation, demanding deeper understanding and relentless practice. Even the Storm Release users from our clan took inspiration from lightning's fluid nature, combining it with water to form their unique release. Nature transformation isn't as simple as just making an element stronger, it's about reshaping its very nature."
Ron felt like things were becoming clearer, but there was still something he was curious about.
"Father, does basic nature transformation only serve to make chakra more efficiently convert into an element? That's why, with the same amount of chakra, a ninjutsu with a stronger nature transformation is more powerful. But does it have a limit? Can stronger nature transformation make a jutsu multiple times more powerful than the original?"
The Third Raikage frowned slightly, considering the question. "There is a limit… or at least, that's what most would say. Stronger nature transformation refines the element, making it purer and more effective, but there's a point where the improvements slow down for most people. The same amount of chakra can only be refined so much before reaching its natural ceiling."
He raised a hand, letting a small spark of lightning dance between his fingers. "A basic Lightning Release technique might start as weak sparks, but with stronger nature transformation, it can become a bolt, then a continuous current, and beyond. Each stage increases power, but only a stronger ninja can lead to a higher quantity and quality, but whether there's an upper limit… I can't say for certain."
He crossed his arms, his gaze thoughtful. "If a ninja truly masters nature transformation, they can change how the element behaves, how it interacts with the world, and even how it combines with other elements. That's how bloodline limits and advanced techniques such as combination jutsu are created. But whether nature transformation alone can make ninjutsu endlessly stronger… I don't know. Perhaps no one does."
After a brief pause, he let out a low chuckle. "If you really want to know, Ron, you'll have to figure it out yourself."
Ron couldn't help but ponder this further. It wasn't just about chakra efficiency there were cases where ninjas, like Uchiha Madara, could unleash ninjutsu multiple times stronger than their normal forms. Of course, having more chakra played a role, but how much chakra could a single body truly harness? There had to be more to it.
Ron believed that strengthening nature's transformation through chakra training led to gradual changes in the body, but this process started with the mind. Before it became an instinct or talent like a bloodline limit it had to be consciously developed. A ninja's spiritual capability had to become more attuned to nature first, and as a result, the body would follow. Eventually, this alignment could lead to natural energy subtly supporting the jutsu itself.
His reasoning wasn't baseless. When Naruto trained in Sage Mode, he had to refine his mind and spirit to become closer to nature. And once he succeeded, sage jutsu became vastly stronger than their pure chakra counterparts. If stronger comprehension of a nature type allowed for a deeper resonance with natural chakra, then perhaps the natural energy around them could respond or even amplify a jutsu.
If that were true, then nature transformation wasn't just about refining chakra into an element it was about forging a deeper connection with the nature of the world itself.
