Arc - Rise of the Dawn Arc

Chapter - Tang Yang

In the middle of the night, a boy wearing a black cloak was walking with staggering steps on an empty road. There were only shadows created by the illuminated moonlight and silence in the city. His black cloak was torn apart from various places. The cuts and bruises on it were proclaiming him a beggar. His face was hidden under the hood.

After walking a few more steps, he fell down on the ground with a thud sound. A man ran towards him for his help.

A silhouette was watching the event while hiding in the shadows. He muttered in a low tone,

"I'm sorry! That I am not with you through it all! But I'll make sure that you'll stay away from all of this mess from now on ... whether you like it or not."

The silhouette disappeared within the shadows without any trace, and the man took the boy to help him.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A woman was snappily glaring at a twelve years old boy, "Mother will bring Na'er to the Administrative Office to investigate in a moment. We'll see if we can locate her family. You stay here and behave yourself, understood?"

Tang Yang obediently nodded his head as he saw a white-haired girl who was standing just beside the woman. She was holding the hand of the woman with her thin hand. Her large purple eyes were like two jade of purple sphere gazing at Tang Yang.

The woman brought Na'er out. Na'er was her typical self as she didn't say anything before leaving with Tang Yang's mother.

After they left, Tang Yang returned to his room. He thought internally about what the teacher had taught in class today and decided to give meditation a try. Tang Yang sat up straight in serenity. Meditation required tranquillity to sense one's self and natural energy. This was the first step.

Tang Yang originally didn't have any distracting thoughts, so he quickly calmed down. He subconsciously felt his Bluesilver Grass martial soul. When first meditating, he was just required to accomplish that step. He should first feel his own martial soul and soul power, forcing his mind to maintain a connection between the two. After this step was done, he could then continue to really meditate.

Bluesilver Grass is the martial soul of Tang Yang. It wasn't a strong martial soul, but surprisingly, it had tenacious vitality. It was the most abundant plant on the Douluo Continent. Even though Tang Yang has a weak martial soul, his real problem was his soul power, which falls in the C category. He required to work hard three to five times more as compared to people whose soul power falls in A or B category.

As Tang Yang started meditation, his faint awareness allowed him to sense the little natural energy in the form of tiny existences in the air. They started to quietly absorb into his body. The little natural energy blended completely in his feeble soul power. This fusion was neither fast nor substantial, yet he could still sense that this fusion was gradually increasing his soul power. Although it was only increasing slightly, this increase was stable and persistent.

After an unknown period of time, Tang Wulin naturally awakened from his state of meditation. His body felt cool and relaxed. However, he was given a fright when he saw his father sitting opposite of him.

"Dad, how come you're home so early?" Tang Yang asked in astonishment.

His father smiled, "I'm not early, It's already mid-night ... I see that you've already learnt meditation? It seems the Red Mountain Academy's education is pretty good!"

Tang Yang excitedly responded as he recalled his experience of meditation to his father. His father was startled within his heart. In only one day, Tang Yang was able to grasp the art of meditation. This wasn't as simple as good instruction. It shows that Tang Yang was talented.

"Yes, that's right. You've learned how to meditate. It seems that my son's comprehension abilities are pretty good!" He praised his son upon his accomplishment. Suddenly, his expression turned serious as he interjected solemnly before Tang Yang could respond. He sighed and said,

"Naturally, right when you turn twelve years old, you bring home a girl. I wonder, what'll you be like when you grow up? What's more! You saved a beauty like a hero."

It was only now that Tang Yang remembered the matter of Na'er and asked, "Dad,has Na'er found her family?"

His father shook his head. "Your mother brought her to the Administrative Office to inquire, but we didn't find her information ... Her amnesia is indeed troublsome. I and your mother decided to take care of her until she regained her memories."

Tang Yang replied happily, "It means that I got a little sister now ... "

Before he could say anything else, a boy woke up from the bed at the other corner of the room.

He grabbed the attention of the son and the father.

Tang Yang's father replied with a smirk,

"You are not the only hero here!"

Tang Yang felt a dark and gloomy aura from him, which his father didn't feel. The boy had onyx black eyes, under which were long, pronounced tear-troughs. He had jet-black hair that was pulled back in a low ponytail, and his face was framed with centre-parted bangs that extended to his chin. He was wearing an old and torn off black cloak. As the boy gained his consciousness, his gaze fell on the duo. He rubbed his head a few times and then said,

"W-Where am I? ... and how are you?"
