Agent Eleven sets his sights on the creature and aims a pistol at its face.
"(I know what my first target will be.)"
He shoots the creature in one of its glowing eyes which causes it to roar again, but this time, in pain.
The determined man intended to aim for the other eye, but the creature's golden set of wings bent and curved to the front of the creature's face. Leaving only a small slit of its face visible.
"(This thing is smart… That's a small target, even for me. I may have to switch tactics. I don't want to get too close to that thing.)"
The creature reveals a second, clear set of wings that it begins to stretch, seemingly preparing for an attack. The agent looked around the room and prepared his direction to dodge, anticipating it to charge him.
Instead, the creature spun quickly in a circle and shards of what seemed to be glass was being flung at him at extremely high speeds.
Agent Eleven raised his arms to block the shards coming at his face.
The shards shattered on the hard protective layer the agent made for himself, "You're not the only one with armor."
Agent Eleven began to strafe across the room firing off bullets at its shell hoping to see a crack, but it seems the creature was impervious to his bullets.
He was hoping to create an opening to attack the creature's face again, but the creature did well to turn and guard its face relative to the agent's position.
"(I'll switch to armor piercing.)" The agent thinks as he reloads his magazine.
The agent notices the creature moving its clear set of wings once more.
"(I think it's going to attack.)"
The agent put up his arms, bracing for another volley of glass shards, but instead the creature begins moving in a spinning motion toward him at an unexpected speed.
The agent rolls out of the way just in time, "(It may not be able to slice me, but the impact of that thing could still do some serious damage.)"
Now that the creature was standing on its many legs, he could see that it wasn't armor plated all over its body. Its underside likely didn't have the same amount of protection.
The creature charged the agent with its clear set of wings and one of its golden wings swiping at him like blades. The agent tries to dodge the creature again, but one of its wings connects and launches him toward a nearby wall.
"(Yeah… definitely still hurts to be thrown around in power-saving mode. The kinetic absorption isn't active. I'll have to be more careful.)"
Agent Eleven rolls over and shoots the creature with the armor piercing rounds. He sees a hairline fracture forming in the carapace, "(This thing is built like a tank! How are armor piercing rounds doing so little?!)"
The creature roars and charges the agent after being hit by a volley of bullets. It begins swinging it's sharp wings ever more fiercely.
The agent quickly stands and tries his best to dodge, but notices with each dodge, the creature gets closer to hitting him on the next attack. This ends with the agent being launched against the wall once more.
He aims his gun at the creature from the floor, but the creature begins launching shards of glass at him, making him shield his face.
"(This thing is wary of my every move!)"
The agent attempts to pick himself up off the floor, but the creature is already charging toward him with its horn lowered, not giving him a chance to recover.
Agent Eleven can barely get to his knees before he has to throw himself away from the creature's horn attempting to pierce him.
The man scrambles and gets to his feet, reaching into his tool belt.
He throws a small grenade that explodes mid air and releases a flash of light.
Shielding his eyes for a brief moment, he then unloads both magazines into the creature while it is blinded.
This creates many more cracks in the creature's carapace and causes it to reel back.
"(Perfect.)", the agent thinks as he reloads his magazines and is able to land a few shots on its face.
The bullets chip off a piece of the creature's facial chitin which causes it to roar in pain and reassume its defensive position.
When Agent Eleven reaches into his tool belt once again and throws another grenade, the creature lifts its metallic wings and charges at the man. The light doesn't reach the creature's face as it runs under the grenade, but the agent isn't safe from the flash as he is forced to turn his head.
Agent Eleven knows he has to move to dodge the incoming attack but doesn't know where to go.
He attempts to dive, but by the time the flash subsides, the creature's horn is inches away from him while he is in mid air.
The agent winces as he expects to be slammed into the wall but the horn of the creature instead catches him mid air as the beetle flings its head backwards in a clean motion and launches the agent over its back and across the room.
Agent Eleven hits the wall and almost lands on his neck but was luckily able to brace himself with what little strength he had left.
Turning toward the creature, he sees that it lowered its horn again and may be readying another charge.
The agent reaches into his tool belt for another grenade but this time, he pulls the pin and places it next to himself on the ground.
In a brief moment, smoke begins to release and the agent makes his move.
The creature was too wary of its new opponent to charge blindly into the smoke. It roars which pushes the smoke back a bit, but more is generated, rendering the creature's attempt futile.
Feeling his injuries, the agent quickly crawls to a wall for support and stands up, going straight to his watch to adjust the settings.
With the press of a button, a light begins to glow across the agent's body while slumped against the wall, "You're turning out to be more of a problem than anticipated."
Agent Eleven pushes himself off of the wall and walks out of the smoke with a grin. The creature now with a clear view of its opponent, watches him intently with its face guarded.
