Agent Eleven is leaned against a wall with his partner, Field Agent Four.
With his shotgun drawn and heavy armor equipped, Agent Four led the charge down a hallway filled with hostiles.
Agent Eleven turned the corner quickly to back up his partner with both his pistols drawn and shooting around his vanguard.
"To my right!" The gruff agent yelled.
"Heard!" Replied Agent Eleven.
He kicked in the door and threw in a grenade. He closed the door before the surprised, armed occupants could react.
Seconds later, the door was blown off the hinges into the hallway and sucked back into the room, almost in the same instant.
He taps Agent Four on the shoulder, and they advance down the hallway, perforating anyone foolish enough to resist them.
"To my left!" The gruff agent yelled.
"Heard!" Agent Eleven replied once more.
He taps his spectacles, and can see figures on the other side of the wall, aiming at the door.
He aims his pistols at the wall and opens fire. Each of the figures drop and he taps his partner on the shoulder once more.
"Here it is. Target on the other side of this door." Agent Four said sternly.
"Alright. I'm ready!" Agent Eleven replied confidently.
Agent Four kicked the door in and the duo entered the dark room that seemed to extend forever.
All of a sudden he heard the voice he hated most.
"Welcome to my trap, foolish field agents!"
All around, they were surrounded by bombs that were already nearing the end of their timer.
BEEP!
BEEP!
"ELEVEN! GET DOWN!"
BEEP!
A massive explosion scares Agent Eleven awake.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
The agent presses a button on his watch that turns off his alarm.
"(Of course, that bastard still finds a way to ruin my designated R&R. Two hours doesn't last long enough.)"
The agent looks at his watch, "Hmm…" he ponders aloud.
"(Why is the sun still in the same position? It's impossible. Especially not at what seems to be its zenith.)"
The agent pondered about the ball of light for a moment and decided it wasn't worth his effort trying to figure out at the moment.
The more important matter was figuring out where he was and how to report back to Headquarters.
But before that, an even more important matter, replenishing calories takes priority.
The agent opened the tripedal briefcase which released a cool mist.
The agent took an orpple, peeled it, and bit into its tough, chewy meat.
"(Perfect.)"
The agent finished the appange and placed the remnants of its core into a ziplock bag.
"(They'll want to study this at HQ.)"
He placed the remains in his briefcase and took it off of its stand. He pressed a button to retract the legs and sat back down with it in his lap.
He pulled a small contraption from his toolbelt and pressed a button. The rotors and gears begin to spin silently as the agent releases it into the air where it hovers, awaiting its operator's orders.
The agent presses a button on the inside of the briefcase that makes a screen fold downward from the roof of the case.
He taps the screen with his powered up glove and it displays the camera view of the drone he just deployed.
"(Time to do some recon.)"
The agent flew the drone around looking for any hints as to where he was stranded but was only met with more questions than answers.
"(What's up with this unnatural fog above the forest I just left? In the other direction, there's fog, but the trees aren't nearly as high. I see a path… and a… door?)"
The agent started confusedly at the green door bearing the insignia of a leaf. He cycled through the various vision modes of the drone hoping to get some insight into this door's nature. But nothing was standing out.
The agent flew around the door and saw that there was indeed nothing on the other side. The agent could see that clearly from the drone's point of view, but the disbelief and confusion forced him to verify what he was seeing.
After a moment of thinking, the agent had an epiphany. He knew exactly where he was and exactly what was happening.
"That wasn't a disintegration ray! It was a teleportation ray! It sent me away to an abandoned black site where the Zoo King has his pets dispose of the victims! And the zombies! That's the easiest part! They must be working with Baron Lundi and must have perfected his Z-virus to even reanimate skeletons! And that door that leads to nothing is actually a gate they made in one of their own facilities!"
At the end of his excited rant, he hears his own voice echo amongst the trees as the bugs go silent from the sudden outburst.
"(Stay calm, Eleven… I'm going to get my report started now.)"
The agent types his theory into his notepad, shuts his briefcase, reattaches it, and begins walking in the direction of the mysterious door.
"(I almost forgot again.)"
Agent Eleven reaches behind him and pressed a button on his briefcase handle that renders it invisible.
On his way to the door, the agent presses a button on his watch and continues looking at his surroundings. They seem to be safe. On the main path toward the door, the agent notices that the insects and flowers from the previous area were completely absent.
The agent hears a faint hum which makes him look to the air and extend his hand for the drone to be retrieved.
The agent collapses the small drone and puts it back into its pouch.
"(You'll come in handy later.)"
The agent made it to the edge of the lightly wooded area and saw the door bearing a leaf, alone on a path, surrounded by a tapestry of flowers.
The agent, still in disbelief, walked around the door to ensure there was no invisible facility or something else ridiculous behind it.
He was now sure, this was just a lone door.
Agent Eleven drew his pistol, not knowing what awaited him. He tapped his invisible spectacles and was relieved to not see any figures on the other side.
He twisted the knob and went through the door to see a wider, vast forest.
He was confused, half expecting for it to be a simulation. Merely an elaborate test planned by The Hidden Eye to ensure he is still one of their top agents.
Agent Eleven turned around and saw the leaf adorned door was no longer a vibrant green, but was a dull brown instead.
Agent Eleven notices that the door lies embedded within the stump of what used to be a massive tree.
"(Is this large structure a tree stump?! It's hundreds of feet wide! This thing would have been thousands of feet tall! No way!)"
The agent reopens the door to see only ordinary looking wood behind it, "Where's that other place? You can only leave? No one can enter? That would explain why they teleported me in!" Agent Eleven exclaimed to himself, sure he knew the answers to his predicament.
"(Calm.)"
He went to reach for the drone on his tool belt when he heard several screams.
"(People!)"
He then heard a roar followed by more screams.
"(The Zoo King's minions!)"
The agent raced across the forest hoping to save the innocents from their grisly fate.
