Winter sighed softly as she stood in front of Kalix's chamber, holding the tray in her hand.
She didn't let anyone go hungry for her, so when the conversation ended with her taking the initiative, she decided to bring food for Kalix instead.
"You can do it, Winter. It's only a simple meal tray that he needs to place on the table and then depart." Winter considered the notion before making up her mind.
After a brief pause, Winter inhaled deeply and extended her hand to tap on the door. It had been a minute since she arrived, and it took her another minute to notice the man open the door for her. And as she waited, her anxiousness increased.
"Why isn't he saying anything? Did he sleep already?" she wondered, recalling Julian's previous remarks assuring her of Kalix's tendency of working late at night.
