Chapter 14 - Meeting Again

{ Sorry everyone life is crazy but I will keep updating. It just may be a bit sporadic so sorry about that.}

*Axel POV*

Silvara's words were like thunder in my ears. Quickly I squeezed her body in my arms and backed up to release her. Silvara had a cute blush dusting her cheeks. Her father walked towards us with an unsettling glint in his eye.

Straightening up I waited for the older mans words. Before He could say anything though Silvara beat him to it. "Daddy, this is Axel. The man who saved me and escorted me." She grabbed my arm and held it close to her with a blush.

Silvara's father smiled slightly watching his daughter cozy up to me. When his eyes shifted towards me my body screamed danger. All of my enhanced instincts were telling my to run from the man in front of me. He was powerful, very powerful. He gave me a much stronger feeling then the City Lord did.

"Well it is nice to finally meet the man that saved my daughter. My name is Byron Tempest nice to meet you Axel Wolf, And thank you again for your timely rescue. I am truly sorry my daughter and her partner Garret have put you through." He extended his hand towards me and it I felt my body tense. With a great amount of effort I clamped down on my instinct to run and extended my hand to shake his.

With a firm handshake quickly completed, I smiled before speaking. "Hello sir, nice to meet you as well. To be honest saving Silvara was a right place right time scenario. I just did what anyone in my position would have done right?"

Not knowing truly how this world worked but assuming it was still a law abiding world like my last, I thought there would have been plenty of people that would have done the same. With a slight smile on his face a saw a trace of appreciation cross his face.

"Sadly most would have just tried to benefit from the situation. Whether to help them in capturing and attacking her or just waiting till both sides were exhausted from the fighting to capture both parties." Shaking his head and pausing for a moment he looked into my eyes. "In this world strength speaks the loudest. Courage, bravery, and justice tend to get overlooked and pushed away. In the absence of those the things, usually just cruelty, greed, lust, and deceit are left behind. That is why Axel I am going to extend my hand and help you get established in what you desire to do in this city."

When he spoke I could feel the volume of his emotions. This man had definitely seen a lot in his life.

"Sir I understand thank you for the advice. I would gladly accept a bit of help, after all I am new to this world. Luckily, I had Silvara there to tell me about what she could. I figured I could find a library for more information."

Just when Byron was going to open his mouth, Silvara cut in while looking off to the side. "Let's leave you two. I don't want to be anywhere near the three of them."

Following the direction she was looking I saw the three people responsible for my detainment. Gently I reached down and grasped Silvara's gripped fist in my hand and nodded.

"Yeah, I don't really want to be near them as well." Turning towards Byron who was staring at Silvara's and my hands I asked. "Sir could I please ask you to handle everything with my home and compensation?"

Snapping out of his dazed stare Byron looked up at my face with a complicated look in his eyes.

"Yes, you don't have to worry about it. Silvara take Axel to get some casual clothes and some basic supplies for his new home. I will contact you two within a couple of hours."

Without waiting for a reply from either of us, I watched the man turned on his heel and moved with purpose towards the City Lord and company. It seemed to me the he was unsettled by something but I couldn't quite figure out why.

It hit me though when I felt Silvara's fist unclench and then entwine our fingers. It was the contact between Silvara and I. With a tug on my hand she started leading me outside. As we neared the door I saw the brunette with green eyes moving towards me with a purpose.

I had to slow down because she was walking right in my path without stopping. When we completely stopped we were only 2 meters apart.

"Axel Wolf, it's nice to see you again. Do you remember me? I am Leah Rettle."

She spoke softly and held a bit of apprehension on her face as she kept glancing at my companion. Silvara for her part just looked curiously between the two of us but I could also feel her tightening her grip on my hand and stepping a bit closer.

I looked at the young woman before me and was about to answer when another voice broke in.

"Ugh, Leah you cant just walk away. I still don't understand what you... Hey you feel like that guy we met in the white expanse along with Blaze. Why are you here? Man, you ended up on trial after only being here for almost 4 months that rough." Mia had shown up and with her usual personality started talking a million miles a second.

Slapping her hand to her forehead Leah was about to speak when I beat her to it.

"Leah, yes I remember you, and you. But 4 months doesn't sound right. I have only been here for 1 month or so. But can we please leave. My companion, oh by the way her name is Sil-"

"Silvara Tempest, Nice to meet you ladies." She cut in and extended her hand to the ladies in front of us.

"We know lady Silvara. We were recently admitted in the guild but I think our time their is done. Please though lets go out, I am sure this place must be uncomfortable." Leah responded with a small smile.

Without speaking anymore my group started moving outside. After getting out I felt a flood of emotions come through the bond I have with Lozen. It came through so strong I fell to my knees grasping my chest like I just took a blow.

*HUFF*

*HUFF*

"Axel!"

"Hey nice guy what's happening to you?"

"Axel tell me what's happening?"

Three concerned voices questioned me rapidly. All I could concentrate on those was combating the overwhelming feelings coming from Lozen. Panting heavily I did all I could do and sent reassurance though the bond with all of my might. I tried to reach her telepathically but I couldn't seem to reach her.

Using all of my excess capabilities I turned towards Silvara and gasped out a few words before my mind faded to black once again. "Sil, where is Lozen? I need to go to her."

*Silvara's POV*

I watched as Axel was about to fall the rest of the way down but I swiftly moved forward and caught him. Luckily or unluckily, Axel's face land right in the cleavage of my chest. I felt my face heat up slightly but I didn't let it bother me too much. May have been because I have been having weird feelings for him but I did not hate having his face there.

Gently I lifted him into my arms in a princess carry and turned to the two young women that were staring at Axel in disbelief. "Lady's you can stay here or come with me but I need to go now."

Having heard Axel's words before passing out I knew I needed to get him closer to Lozen.

Looking at each other for a moment the two seemed to share a silent conversation before nodding at each other. Looking back at me the one I had come to know as Leah spoke up. "We will go with you. We cant let you carry this by yourself Lady Silvara. We will come to protect the two of you."

Nodding with a slight smile on my face I turned and we started off towards the city gates. Along the way all of my Dire Wolves silently appeared beside us and started keeping pace with us while taking up defensive postures around us.

Greta being the sweetheart she is came up to Axel and nudged his face. I could see the sad look in her eyes. "Don't worry Greta. We just need to get him to Lozen and everything should work out."

Saying that I couldn't help hope that everything will go good. I could only imagine how Lozen felt waking up alone with out Axel nearby. I know exactly how powerful the bond between the two are.

*One hour later*

We had been walking in the forest for about 30 minutes when we all noticed it. The forest was completely silent. Nothing was moving or making a sound. It was a clear sign that something immensely powerful was nearby and it was angry.

I looked into the brush, I remembered where we had left Lozen and the path there went straight forward. Sadly though I could feel the dreadful aura coming from the very direction we needed to travel.

Just as I was thinking about what actions we needed to take to continue forward my decision was made for me.

Out of the brush I watched and massive white legs and paws stepped out slowly. When the beast came into full view I was momentarily scared. The Beast was massive. It has sparkling white fur that seems to be made of starlight. It has glowing icy blue eyes that seem eerily familiar. I could even sense a bit of a familiar aura from this beast but it didn't make sense.

It wasn't until I heard the angry voice that I realized this beast was actually Lozen. She had changed somehow but right now I couldn't worry about that.

"You! Little girl put my master down now before I rip you all to shreds!"

Lozen was furious, without making her ask twice I slowly stepped forward holding Axel's limp body and took him towards the enraged beast. I set him down and quickly backed up not wanting to catch any of her ire.

"Wha-"

Mia the sweet bubbly girl tried to speak and ask something but Leah smartly threw her hand over her friends mouth.

Lozen gently leaned down and examined her master. I watched as she gently shifted his body so it was laying on her side and she took such meticulous care for him. I could see she had a very strong bond with him and I felt happy know that the two were finally brought back together.

*Axel's POV*

I groggily pulled myself out of a very comfortable sleep. I felt as if my body was laying on something fluffy. I felt around and I felt a wide smile for on my face.

"Lozen I missed you..." I turned over and buried my face into her white fur... Wait...

I pulled back fast and snapped my eyes open. Looking up I saw the massive white head of a Fenrir. Its familiar icy blue eyes filled with warmth stared back into mine with a hint of amusement.

" Lozen... What the hell happened to you?!?"
