As Finn follows the mysterious man, he is mesmerized by how much Noctaris, the City of Night, glimmers. It feels as if the night has just begun. They enter an abandoned cabin at the farthest edge of Noctaris. The atmosphere feels gloomy, far removed from the vibrant glimmers of Noctaris. Finn studies the cabin carefully. It looks ancient, holding countless untold stories.
As Finn enters the room, his gaze locks with a woman almost instantly. The connection is brief but electric, speaking volumes without a single word.
Dressed in full silver knight armor, she exudes an aura of grace and strength, resembling an iron maiden of elegance. Her shiny, golden hair adds to her striking appearance. The eye contact breaks as she says, "Who's this lad? Elias, he looks like a total newbie to me. Is he even enough for the job?" Elias responds secretively, "No. Leader, because he looks like a newbie, I picked him for the job." "Okay. If you say so" says the maiden. "What is your name, boy?" says the maiden while looking at Finn.
Finn, mesmerized by the beautiful maiden in armor, starts to stutter and says "O-oh, my n-name is Finn. Finn Vargsson. You can call me Finn. Would you mind telling me your name, miss?" "My name is Nyx, Nyx Ashborne. You can call me Nyx. Did Elias tell you what the work is?" says the guild leader Nyx. "Well he told me that I would need to carry something called the Memory Prism. I'm not boasting but I'm very strong for my age I could carry it for you," says Finn. Hearing what he said she says, "You seem like a total country bumpkin. The Memory Prism isn't even heavy. We just need someone to carry it. You don't even know what a Memory Prism is."
Finn blushes, realizing he had come across as a proud bumpkin. It was really frustrating for him. he regrets not keeping it shut. Meanwhile, she comes forward and retrieves the Memory Prism.
The device resembles a backpack, with a mysterious look with a dark blue color and a gem is embedded in its back. The gem glows, shifting through a spectrum of colors. The whole device looks like something out of this realm like an ancient relic.
Fin says, "What does it do?" Nyx says, "Oi, Bumpkin! I can't explain everything to you. I'm not your mom or your girlfriend. You'll understand when you come with us" Finn blushes again and mutters, " Sorry. I will just mind my business." They enter the
living room for the briefing.
As Finn enters he makes eye contact with four members of the party. Nyx says, "Introduce yourselves to the lad here "
A man with glasses and greenish hair steps forward, his large cyan-blue eyes almost too bright. looks at him with those big wobbly eyes and says, "I'm Oren an apprentice mage and a scholar who is also a page at the Oakwood. This is Ronan"
He gestures toward the next person—a gloomy and shy healer wh is wearing a badge from the Healer's Association. Finn glances at Ronan before shifting his focus to the other party members,
A woman with a sheathed sword smirks, as if she finds amusement in Finn's presence. She chuckles lightly. The woman says," My name is Rhea what might your name be?"
While he somewhat prepares to introduce himself, a woman of a very peculiar attire looks at him in disgust and says, " Seriously? A child? He even looks like a bumpkin who doesn't even know a single thing about Memorists or scavenging, well, whatever suits your taste" Then, she says to Finn, "Boy I'm Lilith. You could still be not rude enough introduce yourself."
Finn says, "Well, I'm Finn, Finn Vargsson, I would like to assure everyone that I might be somewhat new to the Memorist world and whatnot but I will do everything in my power to make myself worth the payment for the client."
Lilith says, "What a nice speech boy. but if you aren't worth the money be prepared to be long gone."
The Iron Maiden, Nyx, as the Guild leader, starts briefing about the future expedition. The maiden says,
"The Chasm of Forgotten Souls is a tower-like labyrinth that descends endlessly, like an abyss. Last month, a group of Pathfinders discovered a secret passage to the tomb of the master of the labyrinth. The tomb might carry unimaginable psyches. We have thought about scavenging to get the psyche and sell it to a merchant at the emporium I know. The journey will take approximately three to seven months. The secret passage is in the 7th floor. We need to reach it quickly to access the tomb before word spreads. Not a lot of people know about it so rushing might give better results than just waiting. Finn you most likely aren't specialized in any form of martial arts or magic, So, I recommend learning a thing or two from Elias. He'd be a perfect training partner for you." Elias nods in agreement. "We'll start tomorrow. As you need a lot of sparring experience before we go on the expedition." says Elias.
For the next three days, Finn trains with Elias.
Meanwhile, in another room,
Lilith speaks in hushed tones. "Your Highness, don't you think it's risky to trust these Memorists?"
The other woman says, "As far as I'm concerned I need it to break free from the curse. I have gotten this chance after a lot of sacrifices. I would never let it go to waste."
Lilith says, "As you wish your highness no feelings of mine should matter in the face of your greater ambition and benefits. I'm merely a tool for you to use."
she says, "Until then, I shouldn't reveal my identity to the commoners I guess as they've become very much barbaric. If only I had someone I could truly trust."
"Your Highness I don't know if I'd cut it to become your friend nonetheless I would definitely do everything in my power to aid your ambitions till my last breath." says Lilith.
