Renjiro sat in the agency's debriefing room, replaying the events of the day in his mind. The device had been neutralized, but Katsuro had escaped again. Kaito entered, his face grim.
"You're lucky to be alive," Kaito said, tossing a file onto the table. "But we've got bigger problems. Katsuro wasn't working alone."
Renjiro opened the file to see photos of a woman with striking red hair and piercing green eyes. "Who is she?"
"Kaede Yashiro. Ex-agent. Brilliant hacker. She's Katsuro's new partner, and she's ten times more dangerous than he is."
Renjiro frowned. "What's her angle?"
Kaito hesitated. "Revenge. She has a vendetta against the agency, and she's using Katsuro to get it."
Before Renjiro could respond, the door opened, and a young woman stepped in. She had short black hair and a confident smirk.
"Meet Yukari Tanaka," Kaito said. "She's your new partner."
Renjiro raised an eyebrow. "I work alone."
"Not anymore. Kaede and Katsuro are too big a threat for you to handle solo. Yukari's here to make sure you don't get yourself killed."
Renjiro glared at Yukari, who simply grinned. "Relax, glasses boy. I'll try not to outshine you too much."
