Renjiro and Yukari were thrown into a grueling training session the next morning. Yukari's combat skills were impressive, and she didn't hesitate to show off.
"You're slow," Yukari taunted after disarming Renjiro for the third time.
"I'm thorough," Renjiro shot back, sweeping her legs out from under her.
Kaito watched from the sidelines, amused. "You two better figure out how to work together. Katsuro and Kaede won't wait for you to become friends."
After the session, Renjiro sat alone, scrolling through files on Kaede. Her story was tragic—abandoned by the agency after a mission gone wrong. He couldn't help but feel a pang of empathy, even as he reminded himself that she was the enemy.
Yukari approached, sitting beside him. "Kaede's story bothering you?"
Renjiro nodded. "It's hard to see someone like her as the villain."
"She made her choice," Yukari said. "Now we make ours."
