Rey Esterin attacked Elias, not even giving him enough time to react. He was certain that this was the end of Elias Ashborn, the person who had almost killed him in the Awakening Ceremony.
"Isn't this place getting a little too lively?" a feminine voice called out, and a figure appeared in front of Elias, who was prepared to use Extraction to protect himself.
Seeing the unknown person, Elias was momentarily lost. With her appearance, the surroundings became even colder.
She didn't even have to move a finger to stop the attacks, as the condensed orbs of wind blast froze into thick ice. The Wind Blast itself froze and fell to the ground before it could even reach Elias.
"Who are you?!" Rey exclaimed, shivering in the cold. Even his artifacts and his wind protection couldn't stop the frost from affecting him.
He looked at the girl in front of him in disbelief. She looked barely any older than him, yet she was able to stop his attacks with such ease.
Even Elias was initially shivering with the increased cold. However, just as the cold began to infiltrate his body, he felt a warmth rising from within his bones.
The cold had triggered something within the Dragon Bones that resisted the cold. In the entire place, almost everyone was shivering, except Elias.
"One of you is already dead. I would get scolded if too many of you died before we even began the introductory class itself. So please hold back for now," the girl said before retracting the extra cold, and things returned to normal.
The children sighed in relief, as the excess cold was gone. They could finally breathe.
The girl snapped her fingers, and cold winds started blowing, making all the children behind her rise in the air. They flew around her until they were in front of her, standing in a group.
"Now it looks much better." She started clapping like a happy child.
Only now was Elias able to see the face of the person. The girl was dressed in a beautiful white gown that looked untouched by the snow. Her snow-white skin seemed to complement the frosty scenery.
The most fascinating thing about her was her identity. The way she talked, it became evident that she was the Professor they were supposed to meet. That could easily justify her strength.
If she was a Professor, then it meant that she was much older than she looked. Despite that, she looked like a child. Had she frozen her aging as well? he thought, before quickly shaking the thought off.
Rey clicked his tongue, frustrated that he had failed to kill Elias.
"Next time, you will not surv—" He tried to warn Elias again, but this time Elias didn't hold back either.
His fist easily broke through the dense layer of wind protection that was surrounding Rey. He punched Rey in the face, sending him flying away.
"What are you doing?" the Professor asked Elias, narrowing her eyes. She had just warned them against it, and they were ignoring her already?
"You said that we can't kill others. But you never said anything about not breaking a few teeth," Elias answered.
He had already had enough. This was the second time Rey had tried to kill him. Just because he couldn't kill him here, didn't mean he was going to let Rey walk all over him.
"What is your name?" The Professor asked Elias, who was wearing ordinary clothes. He didn't even have any family insignia, which made him look like he was from an ordinary family.
"Elias Ashborn." Elias answered.
He didn't know what kind of bias the professor might have against him if she thought he was from an ordinary family that couldn't compare to the Esterins. She might even try to help Esterin deal with him.
He intentionally told her his complete name to make sure that she understood that she couldn't afford to pick sides. He thought the girl would react with shock at his family name, but to his surprise, her reaction was completely different.
She didn't show any intense reaction. She simply asked, "You're Aliath's youngest brother?"
Aliath Ashborn... Elias had heard that name many times, especially since he came to the Academy. He was the eldest son of the Ashborn family, who had left his name almost everywhere.
There was no record in the Dimensional Academy that was not broken by Aliath. There wasn't a single professor who wasn't scared of Aliath when he was at the academy.
In some aspects, Elias felt that Aliath was even more intimidating to people than his father, the patriarch of the Ashborn family.
He could only nod in response to the girl's question, wondering why she asked about his Eldest Brother instead.
"Did you know my eldest brother?" he asked the girl, wondering if they were friends in the past. Had she studied with his brother or something?
"Why wouldn't I know him?" the girl asked. She didn't say anything else, but from her tone, it didn't seem like she was talking about a friend. Elias had a foreboding feeling. Just what had his brother done?
Had he made a mistake by telling her his family name? He wondered. Then again, he was sure that it was only a matter of time before she found out about his identity.
'Does she have some enmity with Aliath?' he thought, finding it hard to read the girl's face. The childlike innocence was nowhere to be seen anymore.
Rey could also be seen returning, wiping the blood off his lips. He had tried to kill Elias, only to be hit again. It left a sour taste in his mouth.
He was even frustrated at the Professor. If that person hadn't interfered, he might have actually succeeded in killing Elias. But now, that opportunity was gone.
Even if he were to fight now, he was going to be at a disadvantage. Once again, he was back at the first stage where he needed to learn other elements.
"I have a feeling that you two want to kill each other. Although I did say that I can't allow you to kill each other before the class, I didn't say that I wouldn't give you an opportunity," the girl said, and with her reaction, Elias grew even more certain.
She was letting it out on him, while appearing to be unbiased.
"Do you see this world?" she asked all the children, spreading out her arms. "This is a world that is suffering through a frost apocalypse! And for your first class, this will be your prison and your battlefield!"
