Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: The Tavern

Sebastian

I grumbled as I kicked rocks across the street we were walking down. Lilith was scanning each way as we walked towards the tavern. The wind slightly wafted her scent in my direction, causing my heart to pound.

"What happened to that confident shell you were exuding earlier?" She broke the silence with her dumb question. I halted and turned to her. My hand flew out, grabbing her by her chin as I grinned down at her.

"I still got it little lamb, don't overstep, or I'll..." I saw the world spin as I finished my sentence flat on my back. The wind knocked out of me. She placed her foot firmly into my chest as she peeked over her breasts that obscured her face, glaring down at me.

"I've had it up to here..." I wheezed as I grabbed her ankle, twisting it causing her to retract her foot off me. I shoved myself off the ground as I brushed myself off.

"I've had it up to here with your bullshit little lamb..." I growled at her as I straightened myself up. She placed her hands behind her back as she continued to walk forward, glancing at me up and down as she scoffed.

"I've had clients like you, they think they can get whatever they want. "She turned, with that god-awful-sweet smile on her face. "Until they met me", she giggled as she turned back to head towards the tavern.

"Ooo a chase... the wolf loves to chase the lamb", my demon growled in the back of my mind. I found myself licking my canine as I followed her.

She opened the door to the tavern, as she gestured for me to enter. I paused, looking down at her. The audacity of this woman, to think I would let her hold a door open for me? I reached up, grabbing the door as I grunted at her, throwing my head to the right telling her to go inside. She folded her arms, tapping her foot as she smiled.

"Cat got your tongue?" she sneakily said. I gritted my teeth as I mumbled "You first..."

She turned quickly and entered the room. I slammed the door behind her as I made my way up to the bar. I threw myself into a bar stool as I gripped my head. She silently slid into the seat next to me, neatly folding her hands on the table as she swung her feet happily.

"What can I get ya tonight, young master?" The gruff voice of bartender Dan perked my attitude up. I sat back on the stool, arms folded as I put up two fingers. "Two shots of whiskey please.

"Nope, just one. I don't drink on the job", she looked up at the ceiling as she scanned the beams.

"If you're going to follow me around, the least you can do is have a drink. It won't hurt you", I picked up a whiskey glass, swirling the glass before bringing it up to my lips, taking a long over-exaggerated sip. The slurping sound caused her eyebrow to twitch as she turned to face me.

"Alcohol inebriates the mind, and I need to have a clear one to do my job." She forced a smile at me, clearly annoyed at my behavior. With a sly grin, I faced her, sipping loudly again on the whiskey as she gritted her teeth. She quickly turned from me, her back facing me as I threw back the shot, reaching for the next one. I was 10 shots in when I was interrupted.

"Sebastian! There you are!" A seductive voice rang through my ears as I turned to see a sexy blonde standing in front of me.

"Oh, hello Illyra," I responded in a low gruff voice. She walked up to me, swaying her hips as she placed her hands on my knees, spreading my legs so she could fit between them. Her fingers traced up my thighs as she seductively smirked at me.

"No... Not interested", my demon growled at me. "We have to settle down, or we're going to be in immense pain." I grumbled back to him as I kept smiling at Illyra. Her hands ran up my chest, as she stopped and fidgeted with the top button on my shirt.

"I can't stop thinking about the last time we met," she looked at me with her big hazel eyes, chewing on her inner lip. I could. Hell, I don't even remember what we did. I smiled slightly as I tried to rack my brain. Before I knew it, she was yanked off me by an absurdly large man.

"You're Sebastian? You're the one who Illyra cheated on me with? A pretty boy from the palace", he towered over me as I leaned back nonchalantly. Looks like I'll be getting my fist fight for the night.

Rage burned through the man's face as his ginormous hand shot out, grabbing me by the collar. I grasped his hand firmly as a wicked smile crossed my face.

"I wouldn't touch me if I were you..." I smugly replied. He lifted me up off my stool, he clearly struggled, which brought a wave of uneasiness across his face. I grabbed his wrist, snapping his hand back, forcing him to his knees. He whimpered and looked up at me pleadingly. I shoved his hand back again until his wrist made that sweet, succulent crunch sound that brought pleasure to my core. He screamed.

Multiple men stood up, ready for a brawl. Those are the rules of the tavern anyway; you start swinging until everyone's down. The difference in this one, though, was they were all rearing up to go at me.

I rolled my shoulders, ready to go as I picked up another shot, slamming it back. I halted as Lilith stepped in front of me.
