Once he got home, he couldn't believe what had just happened. On Saturday afternoon, he is playing games on his PC with his friends. He hears laughter coming from the kitchen and finds it hard to focus on the game. Henry puts down the game pad and walks into the kitchen. There, he sees his mom smiling with Anna and Edward. Anna is dressed in her comfy baggy jeans and a small tan top. "Hi, Henry," Anna says, looking at him as her heart starts to race. "Mum, can you make me noodles?" His mum nods, and he goes over to the cabinet. He grabs a cup from the top shelf, then walks to the fridge and stops there. "Edward says good things about you, and I understand why," Laura tells Anna. "Thank you, ma'am, and he says nice things about you too," Anna replies with a laugh.
"Anna, what do you want to be when you grow up?" Laura asked. Anna laughed. "I want to be a financial adviser, just like my dad." Laura blushed. "Edward, I assume you still want to be a doctor?" He nodded. "Yeah, I do. Anna, you're so smart; you could be anything you want," he says to Anna, who looks over at Henry, who has been standing by the fridge for the last ten minutes. "Henry, what do you want to be?" He gazes at her, his heart racing wildly. She smiles at him, looking deeply into his eyes, and his heart races even faster. He quickly turns away. "Anna, do you want some noodles too?" Anna nods and then looks at Edward. "Come on, let's go to my room," Edward says, pulling her along. As they leave, Henry notices Edward holding Anna's hand, and he feels upset.
Later that evening, Henry walks by Edward's room and hears Anna and Edward talking. "Your stepmom is really nice; she even helps with chores," Anna says. "Yeah, she is. I told you I wish she was my mom because she's so great. Sometimes it feels like Henry is just like my mom, and I'm like Aunt Laura," he tells Anna. "I really like her, and I want to be like her when I get older." "It's unfortunate that she has to put up with Henry's mean behavior," they both laugh.
Henry bursts into his room, pacing angrily. "Seriously, Anna, you want to see Nasty?" It's the first day back from the midterm break, and Anna is having lunch with Jamie when Henry approaches their table and grabs her lunch box. "What do you want, Henry?" he laughed. "Apparently, I'm a nasty person, and nasty people think people like you shouldn't be here," Henry said to Anna as she sat down. "Haven't you always been rude and mean?" Her words made him really angry. "You're just a charity case. I bet even those uniforms are from charity." Anna started to feel self-conscious, glancing at her uniform over and over. "You think you're nothing, and you have the nerve to call me rude?" Tears streamed down her face. Just then, Nora and Edward showed up. "Hey, what's happening here? Anna, are you alright?" Henry laughed. "Get your hands off me! They say that birds of a feather flock together, and that's true because you fit right in with trash," Henry says, glaring at him while his friends continue to laugh. "What do you mean, Henry?" Edward asks. "Your mom was a hooker, right? That's how she got my dad, isn't it?" Edward shivers. "Henry, didn't we consider ourselves family?" Edward feels too shy to meet Anna's gaze. "Isn't it true? Your mom messed up our family to give you the life you enjoy now, so don't think for a second that we are equals. My mom is legally married to George Castle, while your mom is just a mistake." Anna pushed Henry in the chest."You are just plain evil, and I hope you suffer in hell." "Aren't you already in hell? With a life like yours, who needs hell?" Anna turns to Edward and tries to pull his hands, but he stays still. "Come on, let's go," she says, but Edward is crying and refuses to leave. He walks away angrily while the MISOE keeps laughing and giving Henry high fives. Anna enters the restroom and removes her uniform. Standing in front of the mirror, she struggles to stop crying with tears in her eyes. Meanwhile, Henry sits alone by his locker, feeling sorry for everything he said, and sadly lowers himself to the floor. Nora walks straight in front of him, and he looks up at her. "Anna hasn't stopped crying since she left here. I hope that makes you happy?" He wants to say something, but tears sparkle in his eyes. He takes a moment to regain his feelings. "Why should I care?" Henry stands up and starts to unbutton his shirt. He wears a white polo underneath, so he feels embarrassed. "I suppose you don't care. You didn't even hold back with your brother, so why would you worry about making an enemy?" Nora said as she walked away, and he hit his locker in frustration.
