Chapter 7 - An unexpected reunion

As Des's hand closed around Chris's shoulder, Lucinda's eyes widened in alarm. She had been expecting a confrontation, not a physical altercation. But to her surprise, Des didn't pull Chris into a fight. Instead, he pulled him into a tight hug.

Chris, caught off guard, hesitated for a moment before wrapping his arms around Des and returning the hug. The two men held each other for a long moment, their backs thumping with enthusiastic pats.

Lucinda's eyes narrowed in confusion. What was going on here? She had expected Des to be angry, not affectionate.

Finally, the two men pulled back, grinning at each other like fools. They shook hands, their faces alight with joy.

"Chris, my old friend!" Des exclaimed, his voice booming with excitement. "It's been far too long!"

Chris chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Des, you old scoundrel! I've missed you, man."

Lucinda's confusion deepened. What was going on here? She had thought Des and Chris were strangers, but it seemed they had a history together.

As the two men continued to chat and laugh, Lucinda felt like she was being left out. She cleared her throat, trying to get their attention.

"Um, guys? I think we should talk about what's going on here."

But Des and Chris were too caught up in their reunion to pay her much attention. They continued to chat and laugh, their conversation flowing easily.

As Lucinda watched, she began to feel a pang of jealousy. Who was Chris to Des, and why were they so happy to see each other?

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Des and Chris turned their attention back to Lucinda.

"Sorry, Lucy," Des said, his face still flushed with excitement. "We got a bit carried away. Chris and I go way back."

Lucinda raised an eyebrow. "Oh? How do you know each other?"

Chris grinned. "Des and I met in college. We were roommates, and we quickly became inseparable."

Des chuckled. "We had some wild times, let me tell you. We were always getting into trouble, whether it was pulling pranks on our classmates or sneaking into the dorm's kitchen to make midnight snacks."

Lucinda's eyes widened in surprise. She had never heard Des talk about his college days before.

As Des and Chris continued to reminisce, Lucinda found herself feeling more and more left out. She had thought she knew Des, but it seemed there was a whole side of him that she had never seen before.

As the three of them stood there, chatting and laughing, Lucinda couldn't help but feel like she was losing her grip on Des. Who was this man, really? And why was he so happy to see Chris?

As the conversation continued, Lucinda found herself feeling more and more like an outsider. She had thought she was a part of Des's life, but now she wasn't so sure.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Des turned to Lucinda and said, "Hey, Lucy, why don't you go grab us some drinks from the kitchen? Chris and I will catch up some more."

Lucinda nodded, feeling a bit relieved. She wasn't sure what was going on, but she knew she needed a break from the conversation.

As she walked into the kitchen, Lucinda couldn't help but feel like she was being dumped. Des and Chris were so caught up in their reunion that they had forgotten all about her.

She sighed, feeling a bit defeated. She had thought she was a part of Des's life, but now she wasn't so sure.

As she poured drinks into glasses, Lucinda couldn't help but wonder what other secrets Des was hiding. Who was this man, really? And why was he so happy to see Chris?

She shook her head, feeling a bit confused. She didn't know what was going on, but she knew she needed to find out.

With the drinks in hand, Lucinda walked back into the living room, determined to get some answers. But as she entered the room, she was greeted by the sight of Des and Chris laughing and chatting like old times.

Lucinda's heart sank. It seemed she was no longer a part of Des's life. She had been replaced by Chris, and she didn't know how to feel about it.

As she stood there, feeling like an outsider, Lucinda couldn't help but wonder what the future held. Would she be able to regain her place in Des's life, or was she doomed to be left out forever? Only time would tell.

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚Lucy is always afraid of loosing her Des to an outsiderΒ

As the days went by, Lucinda couldn't help but think about the unexpected reunion between Des and Chris. She had been shocked to see how close they were, and how easily they had fallen back into their old routine.

One evening, as she was talking to Des, Lucinda asked him to tell her more about his friendship with Chris. Des smiled, settling into a comfortable position on the couch.

"Chris and I go way back," Des began. "We met in college, during our freshman year. We were roommates, and at first, we didn't really get along. Chris was this loud, boisterous guy who always had a joke ready, while I was more reserved and introverted."

Lucinda laughed. "I can imagine," she said.

Des chuckled. "Yeah, we were an unlikely pair. But despite our differences, we quickly became close friends. We bonded over our love of music, movies, and video games, and we spent countless hours exploring the campus, attending parties, and just enjoying each other's company."

Lucinda smiled, feeling happy for Des. "That sounds amazing," she said.

Des nodded. "It was. Chris was more than just a friend to me - he was a brother. We went through thick and thin together, supporting each other through exams, relationships, and family crises."

Lucinda's eyes widened in surprise. "I had no idea," she said.

Des smiled wistfully. "Yeah, Chris and I have a deep history. We've been through so much together, and I'm grateful to have him back in my life."

As Des finished speaking, Lucinda felt a sense of understanding wash over her. She realized that Des's friendship with Chris was something special, something that went beyond a casual acquaintance.

She smiled, feeling happy for Des. "I'm glad you two are reunited," she said.

Des grinned, putting his arm around her. "Me too," he said. "Me too."
