As Liu Feng and the old man walked through the city streets, Liu Feng followed the old man to a small, cozy inn. The sign above the door read "The Golden Dragon," and the aroma of roasting meat and freshly baked bread wafted out into the street.
The old man pushed open the door and gestured for Liu Feng to enter. Inside, the inn was warm and welcoming, with a fire crackling in the hearth. The old man approached the innkeeper, a stout man with a bushy beard, and handed him a few coins.
The innkeeper nodded and smiled, handing The old man a key. "Room 3, upstairs," he said "You and your...young friend can rest there.
The old man nodded and turned to Liu Feng. "Let's get settled," he said. "We can talk more later."
Liu Feng followed The old man up the stairs and into Room 3. The room was small but clean, with two narrow beds and a small table between them. The old man gestured for Liu Feng to sit, and then sat down himself.
"You must be dying to know who I am", the old man said.
"My name is Yang Chen Yi," he said, looking at Liu Feng with kind eyes. "And you are...?
"Liu Feng hesitated, unsure of how much to reveal. But there was something about Yang Chen Yi that put him at ease.
"I'm Liu Feng," he said finally.
Yang Chen Yi nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "I'm glad to meet you, Liu Feng," he said. "We have a lot to talk about".
Yang Chen Yi's eyes seemed to cloud over for a moment, and his voice took on a hint of sadness but tried to cover it up. "Liu Feng, I have something important to tell you," he said. "You see, you can take me as your grandpa,if you would prefer that.
Liu Feng's eyes widened in surprise. "My grandpa?" he repeated."Why would I do that?"
Yang Chen Yi smiled."um...let's say I have a connection to your past"
"And why should I believe you?", Liu Feng said. Rising to his feet then continued, "I'm thankful for your kind gesture and will be willing to pay back in full..
"How?" Yang Chen Yi interrupted. "I guess by stealing from the people". Gets to his feet.
"I would get it somehow," replied Liu Feng.
Yang Chen Yi moves closer to Liu Feng."I advise to sit and listen to what I have to say" he said.
"What else do you have to say?" said Liu Feng."the crap about having a connection to my past, then where were you for the past 14 years…
"And where did your daily meals come from, for those years"Yang Chen Yi interrupted."Did you think they fell from the sky".Liu Feng was taken aback by these words for he alone knew about his mysterious food deliveries.
Liu Feng sat down in surprise. Yang Chen Yi nodded. "Yes,Sit"
As they were having their meal Yang Chen Yi spoke, "I've been keeping an eye on you for all those years just for you to grow up to be strong but it seems you are still a kid"
"Then why did you stop bringing the foods, I started stealing because of that,i could have gotten hurt"
"and I'm glad to see you're safe. But, I don't regret my actions. It was time for you to start taking a more active role in your life.
"Liu Feng's mind was reeling. What did Yang Chen Yi mean?, "You still haven't explained who you are to me", he said.
"You seemed to still be a kid and I think you're incapable of handling it so that's it", Yang Chen Yi said.
Yang Chen Yi smiled, as if reading Liu Feng's thoughts. "Don't worry, Liu Feng," he said. "I'm here to help you. I'll be taking care of you from now on.
"Liu Feng felt a mix of emotions: shock, gratitude, and a hint of wariness. He didn't know this man, after all. But there was something about Yang Chen Yi that seemed...genuine.
"Clean up and go to sleep, we leave first thing tomorrow morning", Yang Chen Yi said."Leave?" Liu Feng added, "Who said anything about leaving where are we going to?".
Goodnight and sleep well, Yang Chen Yi reluctantly said, "and who said I'm going anywhere with you. Liu Feng said.
Whether conscious or unconscious you leave with me tomorrow'said Yang Chen Yi
The next morning, Liu Feng woke up early, feeling a bit of excitement as he thought "I might hot know him but at least I have someone now". He dressed quickly and made his way downstairs, where Yang Chen Yi was waiting for him.
Ready to begin our journey?" Yang Chen Yi asked, his eyes twinkling with amusement.
Liu Feng nodded, feeling a sense of wonder. Where were they going?
As they walked out of the inn, Liu Feng caught a glimpse of the city he had known for so ong. But he knew that he was leaving it all behind, embarking on a new journey with a man who claimed to be a relative.
Liu Feng and Yang Chen Yi walked side by side, leaving the city behind. They traversed through rolling hills and dense forests, the scenery changing with each step.
After a few hours of walking, they came to a small clearing. In the center of the clearing stood a magnificent horse, its coat gleaming in the sunlight. Yang Chen Yi smiled andi nodded.
This is our transportation," he said. "Her name is Ling, and she's been with me for many-years.
Liu Feng's eyes widened as he approached the horse. He had never seen a horse up close before, and he was amazed by its size and strength.
Yang Chen Yi helped Liu Feng mount the horse, and then he climbed up behind him. With a gentle kick, the horse began to move, carrying them smoothly across the landscape.
As they rode, Liu Feng felt a sense of freedom and exhilaration that he had never experienced before. He leaned forward, feeling the wind in his hair, and laughed with joy.
Yang Chen Yi smiled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "I'm glad you're enjoying yourself, he said. "We have a long journey ahead of us, but with Ling's help, we'll get there in no time.
Liu Feng nodded, still grinning from ear to ear. He felt a sense of excitement and anticipation.
As the day wore on, Liu Feng grew more comfortable on horseback, enjoying the rhythmic motion of Ling's gait. Yang Chen Yi pointed out various landmarks and features of the landscape, sharing stories and anecdotes about the places they passed.
As the sun began to set, casting a warm orange glow over the landscape, Yang Chen Yi reined in Ling and nodded toward a small cluster of buildings in the distance
"We'll stop for the night at that village," he said. "We can get a hot meal and a good hight's rest before continuing on our journey tomorrow.
Liu Feng nodded, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. He was tired but happy, enjoying the freedom and adventure of their journey.
As they rode into the village, Liu Feng noticed that the villagers seemed to be watching them with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion. Yang Chen Yi nodded to them as they passed, but Liu Feng could sense a tension in the air.
As They both have settled into an inn in the village, Liu Feng could not stop looking out of the window from time to time to check his surroundings."anxious about something?", Yang Chen Yi asked.
"How can you be so calm in a moment like this", Liu Feng said. "Moment like what?", Yang Chen asked again.
"Are you telling me you don't see how weird this place is?" Liu Feng said. "It's your first time leaving Dao sho, what do you expect?" answered Yang Chen.
"I think all you need is a rest", said Yang Chen Yi as he leaves the inn. "And you should meet other kids, might help you with socializing"
I don't need to socialize," he murmured. "This place is weird".
Yang Chen Yi thought as he left the inn "he has quite a keen sense, something is wrong this place". Just then he stopped in front of a bar.
"The only place you get all the information you need", he chuckled. "Give a man a drink an he comes up",he says as he walks into the bar.
