Fracture was the only word that came to mind. A giant beam of divine energy emerged from the heavens, interrupting the peace of Orario's beautiful blue sky. It's piercing rays illuminated every reach of the city. In the wake of the divine light, the shadows were purged.
The entirety of Orario was brought to a pause as mortals and gods alike stopped to focus on the blinding light. The mortals witnessed a divine event parading beauty and power. However, the deities were struck by a sense of impending doom. The warming light was a metaphor of death... Somehow somewhere a Deity had been resigned to heaven.
Simultaneously, the gods and goddesses all intrinsicly shared a common train of thought. They all new this needed to be explored in further detail and quickly too. If God's started to die, for whatever reason, they may begin to lose authority over humans. Though, not all Deities shared this same reason for wanting the situation uncovered it was definitely true they needed to find out what could've happened.
Freya, 3rd Person
"Ottar, could you get the familia to investigate this?" The beautiful woman spoke, taking a small sip from her wine glass as she finished her sentence."
"If that is what you wish, my lady." Ottar responded without a moment of hesitation in his usual monotonous voice.
Ottar then stepped away from his Goddess' side and moved quietly, despite his muscular build, towards the exit of the room.
Now alone in the room a intrigued smile crossed the face of the silver haired beauty as she started out from Babel at the tower of light parting the sky before her.
"First the boy with a translucent soul and now this?" She gracefully swirled the wine in her glass and took another sip, "Things truly are beginning to get a lot more interesting around here." Her smirk only grew as she wondered what the future ought to hold for her.
Bell Cranel
It's been a week since that beam of light parted the sky of Orario. I had asked my Goddess, Hestia about it and I believe her but I still find it hard to believe that a God had died... Or worse that someone could have killed one.
Since that day the incident is all I hear about at the guild. Like, for example, how no Gods have even been reported missing meaning it's possible the beam was caused by something else entirely... But that just brings up more questions than it does answers.
"Huff" I let out a sigh as I pulled myself away from the thoughts... Thinking about the mystery just made my head hurt and that wouldn't be dangerous when I'm about to go into the dungeon.
Just when I was about to stand up and make my way to the dungeon someone tapped on my shoulder from behind.
"Who is it?" I ask and slowly turn around, my eyes met with adventurer quite a bit taller than me... Was he an adventurer though? He was just wearing a black shirt and trousers with a sword strapped to his waist.
The man had pale skin, but not sickly so, jet-black hair and piercing golden eyes. While he didn't have any proper gear other than his sword something about him was just intimidating to me. I couldn't tell if it was his glare, or maybe just the way he held himself.
"I was wondering if you planned on entering the dungeon?" His voice while smooth also seemed as if it was missing something crucial, like it had no emotion.
Forcing a weary smile I quickly responded, "I am actually. Is there something you needed?" The man started at me and then silently nodded.
"I was wondering if I could join you in your descent." The man's sentence was yet again simple and straight to the point and carried the same emotionless tone.
"You really want to join me down there? I don't mean to be rude but you don't have any armour?" Noting my response the man looked down at his clothes and then towards my direction. He was silent awhile before.
"I don't mean to be rude..." He said copying my sentence, "but you're armour doesn't seem like it'll do much better than my clothes." I let out another sigh, he did have a point I got this armour extremely cheap but still.. it's definitely better than clothes!
"I guess that's fair but I've just started... I haven't even gotten past the first half of the upper floors yet.." Hearing my response the man confusedly titled his head to the side.
"That doesn't matter it's my first time and you looked trustworthy." His words seemed truthful but I can't imagine why he'd want to go with someone like me.
"You can come then I guess!" I said with a smile, it was honestly kind of nice to know I would have someone with me.
"Oh I'm Bell by the way! Bell Cranel." I sickly added on feeling slightly embarrassed having almost forgotten to tell the man my name.
"My name is Azrael." The man said emotionlessly.
"Woah! That's such a unique name!" I shouted excitedly.
Azrael heard my words and responded with a nod, "That's very kind of you, Bell. You have a nice name too." I smiled at his words, he genuinely seems like a really nice person.
"I was thinking of going down to the fifth floor today... Is that okay? It is your first time I understand if you want to take it slower?" I questioned, I didn't want to rush him into the dungeon and be the fault of him getting injured on our first dive.
"The fifth floor? I trust your judgment I believe we'll be fine." He answered with a few nods. His confidence made me a bit nervous and anxious since I wasn't even sure I was ready for the fifth floor.
"Alright then do you want to head of now?" I asked, right a way Azrael gave a quick, confident nod in acceptance.
