Azrael
My memory was blurred by haze filling my mind, slowly but surely my memories of the dungeon incident came flooding back. A mind splitting headache following suit. My eyes shot open, I remembered the Minotaur... Did Bell escape?
I scurried my body from a laying position into a sitting one. Looking around me the environment was bright, and strained my eyes slightly. Bell was nowhere to be seen, Infact, I wasn't even in the dungeon anymore.
My body had somehow been propped onto a sofa where I presumed I had been sleeping till now. The wooden door across the room creaked open slowly, my eyes darted towards the noise as I prepared myself for the worse.
The person who entered the room was a short girl, she had black hair tied into twin-tails and was wearing a white dress, it had a blue ribbon resting just above her chest. She radiated a presence of divinity.
"Hestia?" I said aloud, her eyes drifted towards mine and she gave me a complicated gaze. Confusion, familiarity and uncertainty were all expressed towards me.
"You know my name and look scarily similar to a certain God. Yet, you couldn't be him." She said with an unmoving gaze. So, the concealment of my divinity works! Normally, she would have recognized me right away. Despite having the same appearance, because I lack the emissions of divinity I appear human.
"Where is Bell?" I asked worriedly, He was such an innocent child and I involved him with myself, it'll be my fault if he had died.
"He's cleaning up in the other room. I heard the two of you went down to the fifth floor." Her words stung like venom, her disdain was evident through her glare, wrath fluctuated in her emissions of divinity. She truly cares for this human.
I released a breath a I hadn't realized I was holding, "He's okay... That's great." I responded with a relieved smile.
"Now! Do you want to inform me on which you dragged MY Bell down to the fifth floor!" She shouted, acting more demonic than Godly.
"Initially, we never intended to dive to the fifth floor." I paused my sentence to make sure she was still listening and not consumed by rage. "However, we were working together incredibly efficiently and eventually we had just reached the floor. We hadn't even thought about it.." I finished my explanation.
"So you weren't purposefully trying to get MY Bell killed, huh." Her response came with an evasive glare and pout.
"Of course not." I said nodding in denial of trying to kill him, "he's incredibly kind and allowed me to join his descent. I'm at fault for the incident. Perhaps, without me, he would'nt have gone to the fifth floor." Hestia's gaze slowly returned to my own.
"Oh fine... I don't blame you for the incident but you better be careful with Bell if you ever go in the dungeon again!" A defeated sigh came along with her response.
A moment later, the wooden door creaked open again. Stepping through the frame and into the room was Bell. He was wearing a new pair of clothes and had slightly damp hair.
"Oh Mr. Azrael! You're awake!" He said with bright eyes and a wide grin. He radiated relief and happiness. From the corner of my eyes I watched Hestia's gaze snap onto me.
"Mr. Who!?" She immediately questioned with a glare so horrific it would scare even the worst of demon-kind. My eyes widened as I remembered telling the kid my real name. I never thought I'd end up meeting Hestia! Or any God for that matter!
"Why did MY Bell-Kun just call you Azrael?" She asked once more, this time leaning towards me with a sinister grin. From the side I witnessed bell's confused expression. I stayed silent and prayed he would divert her attention from me.
"Uhhh Kami-Sama? What is wrong with his name?" Bells words were like a saving grace. In an instant all the malicious, sinister energy surrounding Hestia disappeared. She quickly turned to him seeming as docile as a bunny.
"Well you see Azrael was a very important figure that... SHOULD BY NO MEANS BE IN THE MORTAL PLANE!" The first calm half of her sentenced had been directed at Bell and I thought I was safe until she turned towards me and practically burst my ear drums...
"Uhhh Important how so?" Bell asked curiously while tilting his head to the side.
"Azrael is the primordial god of death — one of heavens strongest. His mere aura of divinity causes damage to the environment around him... Which is why he should be in heaven right now!" Her explanation was simple but still contained a bunch of shouts and reprimands directed towards me.
"So! Wanna explain why you're down here, Azrael!?" Her voice, despite being so high pitch was still somehow incredibly intimidating...
"Well..... After the Gods left heaven I started training to forcefully contain my divinity within my body. It was incredibly painful and slow taking the entirety of one thousand years to master. When I achieved completely counseling my divinity I descended to the mortal plain where I have been for around a week now..." I kept the explanation short and simple, it would make it easier to understand and I don't really want to remember that pain anyway.
Hestia's expeession bore shock and concern, I guess I was foolish to think I could downplay the pain of containing divinity to a divine being. I could tell she was about to speak up but, Bell beat her to it.
"Around a week ago? So, that would mean the big beam of light was you!?" I nodded, confirming his curiosities, "So you're a real deal God! No wonder you were so powerful in the dungeon with such a shuddy sword!"
Bell's quick acceptance of my origin was shocking to me. I had lied to the boy of my identity and nearly gotten him killed in the dungeon yet here he was staring at me with such an expression.
He reminds me of Zeus a little bit.
(A/N) As I get more into this story the writing should improve I personally think the writing of this one is already an improvement. Let me know.
