I wake up the next morning finally free from my nightmares. I groggily look around and stand up. I step into my bathroom and strip off all my clothes. I turn on the shower and stand in front of the mirror. I inspect my body, the minor cuts and scrapes had, for the most part, healed. I look at the bruise on my chin the color a deep purple and yellow. I grimace at the sight. I feel the steam from the shower so I step in letting the hot water burn every open cut on my body. I winced slightly from the pain. I exfoliated my skin letting the soap lather my body. I shampooed my hair and finally rinsed off. I stepped out of the shower and draped a towel around my body. I dried off and put on some jeans and a sweater. I walked down the stairs after applying makeup to my bruise. Once in the kitchen I greeted my dad and joined Kai at the table. "Did you sleep any better after we left?" Asked Kai. "Yes, actually, I felt better after admiting I needed to see a therapist." I responed, taking a sip of orange juice. He noded and my dad poked his head in from the kitchen. "That's great honey, I started a list of the places in town that take our insurance, We can schedule you an appointment for after school tomorrow. " He sad rather enthusiastically. I nodded my head. "Yeah dad, honestly the sooner the better." I reply. Dad soon brought in plates of food to which we all helped ourselves. We finished breakfast and loaded up the dishwasher. "Alright, everyone. Lets go see mom." My dad says looking at his watch. We piled into the car and about 20 minutes later we were at Saint John Medical Center. "Visiting Cordelia Peterson please." My dad mumbled. The nurse smiled sadly, She gave us each a visitor pass and nodded towards moms room. We all took the badges and placed them on our shirts. We walked quietly down the hall until we reached her door. Dad paused in front of it letting out a heavy breath. He opened it quietly and we all stepped into her room. Mom was sat up in bed her crochet needles hard at work. She looked up and smiled softly. She patted her bedside and we all cuddled up close. "So how was everyones Saturday? " She chirped. "Dad and I put some furniture in the new place. You'll love it ma, it's all hand carved dark oak wood." Kai said. "Oh, sounds lovely. I can't wait to see it soon. The doctors said I could go home in a few weeks so long as I remain steady. They will send a nurse to check on me during the daytime. But most importantly I will be home again." She said warmly. "That's great baby, we will love when you can come home." Dad said happily, kissing mom on the forehead. Mom looked at me urging me to share my Saturday. "Honestly mama, I slept in till real late then went for a jog. After I got back I took a nap and then helped dad and Kai with the furniture." I said. She smiled, "Sounds relaxing." We chatted until lunch before the nurses kicked us out for her treatment sessions. We all piled back into the car and drove home. Once we got home we all just kind of seperated. I went up to my room to paint and Dad and Kai went to the garage to work on a project. I got into a trance while painting, letting my mind wander. My hand moved freely on the canvas. I only snapped back to reality when Kai knocked on my door. "Audra, dinners about ready." He said. "I'll be down soon, I just need to clean up a little." I replied. I heard as his footsteps disappear down the hall. I look at what I'm painting, a wolf with bright yellow eyes. The outside edges were splatted with red and I had drug the brush downward creating a drip effect with some water. I look at this like a passionate cry for help. I really needed to see that therapist tomorrow. I go to my bathroom and clean myself up and little. I wipe my face and hands dry, then make my way down the stairs. I go to the kitchen to see dad standing by the door sheepishly, "I had to order pizza again kiddos. I ruined what I made." He said. "That's alright dad, I will help you tomorrow." I say taking the pizza from him and setting it on the table. "Remember Audra, I scheduled you an appointment after school for a therapist. I'll text you her address." He said. Kai came around the island and set out plates for us. We all sat down and talked while we ate. After dinner we all sat in the family room and watched a movie. During the movie I continously drifted in and out of sleep. I was awoken abruptly to some loud fight scene. "Hey, I'm just gonna head to bed, I'm pertty tired." I say. "Okay, sweetie. Good night." Dad says kissing me on the cheeks. "Night sis. See you bright and early." Kai says, referring to him taking me to school tomorrow morning. "Night Kai. See you bright and early." I reply. I head up the stairs and enter my room. I strip off all my clothes and throw on a oversized shirt. I pull up my hair into a messy bun, and turn out all of the lights. I crawl under the warm blankets and close my eyes quickly drifting off into a deep and for once a restful sleep.
