Standing in silence, they all stared at the ringing phone.
"You gonna to pick it up?"
Munching on the brezel, Albert gave a questioning gaze. Hesitating, knowing both calls were important, Subaru fell into a dilemma. After a brief moment of hesitation, he made up his mind.
""Hello, who's this?" A brief period of silence followed, the speaker crackling with static. Gulping nervously, the speaker revealed himself to be Ryu: "Big brother... please come back quickly. Some really scary people have come to our house. Mom and Dad are both talking with them, but I can tell they're..."
He trailed off.
Now alarmed, he dropped whatever he was going to ask Albert, panicking. Bursting through the door, he dashed through the streets, speeding faster than a car on nitrous.
Although people turned their heads, he was running too fast for them to properly remember him. Despite running faster than what was humanly possible, he was too preoccupied with the situation at home.
I Swear, if you do anything, ANYTHING...

Getting closer to home, he spotted the same black car that had been following him for the past two weeks. His heart sank as he tried composing himself before entering the house.
Seeing the black leather shoes, his worst nightmare came true. They had come for his family.
Breathing deeply, he called out, "I'm home! Anyone there?" Feigning ignorance, he went to the living room, where, sitting in front of his uncle and aunt, was a man.
His face, covered in a long bullet scar, gazed piercingly at him. Hands clasped together, legs crossed. His sleek black suit, while suggesting a man of great intellect, could not hide the ruthlessness emanating from him. Locking eyes with Subaru, he crossed over to Satoru Ida, who sat trembling, head down.
"As I've said before, I have come here to get something that belongs to our boss. The amulet you have was stolen from us years ago. We have been trying to find it for years. Only within the last month did we receive information that someone had found it and was using it illegally. So I hope that, for all of our sakes, you will hand it over, or else..."
Ending on a sour note, Subaru gulped inaudibly, clenching his fists. Before he could do anything, Sakura stood up, eyes cold. "As I've stated before, we do not know where the so-called 'amulet' is. Also, could you please leave? You are scaring both my husband and our children."
Seeing his wife this cold for the first time since losing her sister, Satoru understood what to do. Gathering his strength, he also stood up and, in a deep voice, instructed Danjo: "Mr. Danjo, you've heard my wife. Please leave our home. We don't know, or even have, the so-called 'amulet.' So please, for our sakes, let's both pretend this never happened. Good day and goodbye."
Seeing their stances, Danjo picked up his glasses, heading to the door. Having one foot outside, he stopped momentarily, as if remembering something.
"Oh, and one more thing. Our boss always gets what he wants, one way or another. So, good day and goodbye."
With those ominous words, he closed the door.
