Chapter 22 - Guns, Guns Galore~

As they began their ascent, Subaru finally realized the incongruity:

Wait, cats can't eat ramen!

Clearing his throat for attention, Albert turned his head towards him. Raising an eye, he looked towards Subaru. "Umm, Mr. Albert, cats can't eat ramen." Without batting an eye, he replied "Cats can eat human food."

But Subaru protested "Yeah, but not ramen, especially not with chopsticks! What the fuck is it!?" Giving a chop on his head, Albert reprimanded, "Language, boy. And for the record, he ain't no normal cat. He's special..." Eyes glowing, he proceeded forward.

Before any more arguments could be made, Subaru stood, electrocuted.

In front of him lay towers upon towers of shelves, drawers, and armor stands, each filled to the brim with weapons and armor. Light from who-knows-where illuminated each shelf, showcasing their might. Mouth agape, Subaru started shaking in awe, giddy at the scene.

At one end stood giant mechanical robots, with huge pistols and laser swords hanging on their backs.

OmigoshhehasafreakingGundam!

Trying his best not to squeal like a fangirl shaking hands with her favorite idol, he turned towards Albert, eyes sparkling. Without turning an eye, Albert replied, "No. We don't have the time. Also, the public will have freaking meltdowns at the sight of those giant robots. "Can't have the Bureau up my ass now..."

Trailing behind, Albert glanced at the starstruck Suabru, whose eyes were still on the robot. Chuckling softly, he headed toward one of the larger drawers.

"Hmm, let's see. Oh, the B&T APC9 Pro-K. That'll work. Here, kid, catch it..." Hurtling through the air was a Desert Eagle.

Confused, Subaru glanced at Albert, asking "W-well, what about, y'know, the plasma cannons, gauss knives, cybernetic EMP grenades, that sort of stuff..."

Without turning his head, as both the cat and him fulled a duffel bag with guns and knives, he skillfully answered "I don't have them. And even if I did, they would've been nearer to section Z190-H. Plus, if they are used, the government won't like it if unlicensed weapons of that sort are used in public...

Now realizing something, his head whipped to the old man. "Wait, you mean the government knows about these...things?"

Hands spinning in the air, Subaru finally grasped it. Head spinning, he crouched on the travelator, reeling from the shocking revelation.

What else has the government hidden from us...

Just as Subaru attempted to ask Albert about how the government tackled supernatural incidents, he realized that they had returned. Stepping off the travelator, Subaru wanted to ask one more question, but Albert held his index finger up, signaling him not to say or ask anything.

Understanding this, Subaru quietly kept his mouth shut, just following what the old man had planned. Following three steps was a black and white spotted cat, harnessing a utility belt filled with various paraphernalia.

Opening the attached garage, they were met with dust piled high into mini-slopes. Coughing and waving his hands, Subaru looked at their mode of transport: a decrepit four-wheeler, its windows barely holding on. Tires lay deflated, some even ripped to shreds. Inside was no better, for the leather seats were destroyed, shredded beyond repair.

As Albert lovingly patted the car, he instructed Subaru, "Well, come on. Let's go and save your family."

Yeah, and with what freaking car!?
