Emilia's life turned after that she accidentally killed her brother. As a punishment for her crimes, her wolf ability became bound. She is now leaving a life of slavery as she is forced to live that way by her brother. At age nineteen, she saw no way of getting out of such a situation and she had finally given up on trying a way of getting out of it. Her only hope now was just getting through each day. But as fate would have its way, a contract between packs brought the arrival of the powerful crimson-eyed Alpha Anker, a wolf that men feared so greatly, yet Emilia couldn't help but had to be fascinated by him. Alpha Anker never planned on adding Emilia to his contract. Something about her strange scent which he perceived when he visited Jesse's office lured him in and he knew he couldn't just leave her behind, especially not when he heard the lies coming out from her brother's mouth. But, meeting Emilia was just the beginning as per say. If she wasn't challenging Alpha Anker, then it was her old pack that was trying to make it difficult for him by keeping secrets buried.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The company

Emilia

"Where the fuck is she?" I hear the beta scream. I already knew that Beta Clarke was talking about. By the way, I'm the only servant in the house. Though I wasn't really happy, I groaned and got to my feet, grabbing the cleaning basket and taking it with me as I moved on to replying to the Beta's call.

Immediately Beta Clarke sees me, he strides towards me and without hesitation, his hands slices against my cheeks. I remain mute without making any sound. After all the years of experience, I've learned to keep my mouth shut all the time and only speak when spoken, that's if need be, even if what they are doing to me hurts.

"Alpha Jesse and I are expecting company and you still haven't cleaned the house like you were asked." Beta Clarke spits at me.

I nod my head and my hand tight on the cleaning basket. My happiest moment would be finding the courage to swing it at his head. Nevertheless, I resisted, after all he was stronger than me and I didn't need locking up for another week with no food. My stomach already hurt enough.

"Listen, we are trying to make a good impression on Alpha Anker. Do you not understand how important it is for us to join ourselves with his pack?"

I don't answer, I know it is a trick. To try and get me to say something so that he can give himself a reason to punish me. I kept my eyes low with my head down so u don't have to look at his face.

Alpha Anker, I have not met him in person, I have only heard rumors about him. Words were exchanged between the other pack members when I was in the room. From my findings, he was a ruthless man, a wolf feared by others. He didn't mess around and he had the largest pack.

"He actually is the Alpha of Black shadows. The biggest pack in the city. We need him!" Beta Clarke continues, yet he doesn't tell me why.

We have been in peace right from the start. We have never been attacked and we have never attacked anyone. So why on God's green earth do we need another pack to help us?

He places his hands on my shoulders, digging his nails into my thinning skin and turns me around as he kicks me in the ass and shoves me towards the house. "Useless fucking wolf." He mutters as he moves away.

Quietly closing the door, I leaned on it as I carefully observed the already cleaned living room. There was nothing out of place, it looks perfectly fine for a meeting with his so-called powerful Alpha.

Closing my eyes, I slide down to the floor. I hated this house, I had always thought that when I turn eighteen, I am going to finally escape, but it has been five years after my eighteenth year of age, here I still am. A slave in.my own home, doing all the dirty fory so called brother who doesn't recognize my existence, Alpha Anker and the pack. While my own boyfriend, Beta Clarke is busy showing me how worthless I am.

Just then, I was cut off from my long thoughts by the sound of someone clearing his throat. I thought I was alone. Leaning forward, behold a handsome man sitting on a chair just by the corner. A foot propped up on his knee as he nurses a glass of wine. His short hair is dark and his eyes a crimson colour that don't quite look right.

I couldn't withstand the sight, fear gripped me as they suddenly shifted to me and I threw myself back against the door and my heart was pounding.

"Hmm, is this the way you greet all Alpha's?" His deep voice rumbles through the room. There is an edge of amusement to his tone.

"I'm sorry," I whisper, getting to my feet. "I…I thought I was alone." I had no idea who he was but I could feel the power radiating off him, even without my wolf. He doesn't introduce himself either, why should he in the first place?

"Come forward." He orders, I already feel a lump forming in my throat. Alpha Clarke was going to kill me.

I took a step around, doing just as I am asked to, allowing him to see me clearly. I close my eyes, expecting the worst.

"You smell funny, yet you are a wolf, correct?"

I nodded in agreement, though I couldn't tell what his reaction was. Most laughed when they found out about me.

"Hmm, how would you feel if I told you that I would prefer it if you talk to me? I am not in the mood to play games."

" Yes," I whisper. I couldn't help but think of all the punishment I was going to have to endure. A whipping Maybe? Starvation for another week?

"Why do you smell strange? And how is it possible for you to not know I was in the room? You should have scented me."

"I…" I actually hated the question.

"Spit it out, I haven't got it all day." He takes a swing from his drink.

I knew now why I could have scented him, I knew why I hadn't been aware of his presence in the office, but telling people the reason was not something I ever wanted or liked to do. They have never heard my own side of the story. All they do is laugh and mock me.

"You should open your eyes when you are talking to someone. It appears rude to not look at them. Has your Alpha not taught you anything?" His deep voice sends shivers down my spine.

Even though he demanded for eye contact, I had no courage looking at him in the eyes. I slowly opened my eyes, and lower them. There was no way I was making eye contact. "My wolglf ability were bound." I mutter. Twice. I wanted to add. Twice my ability were bound. He probably wasn't interested in that part.

The man lean forward, carefully placing his glass on the table close to the chair where he was sitting. I could feel him staring at me, and he asked, "why would someone do that?"

If this is the Alpha that my brother is supposed to be meeting with, I knew I could screw everything up for him by saying a little too much. "It was a punishment," I said with my voice barely above a whisper. It wasn't far from the entire truth, but it was the simplest truth I could give.

I could notice a switch in his cheeks. Was he angry to hear of such a punishment? Or maybe, just like the others, he was amused by it. I could not tell.
