And he showed the young boy his power (*type*)
It was indeed a beautiful sight for such innocent eyes that had not yet seen the real world. (*type*)
"Can someone from the high tier reach the peak tier?" Jinhai asked.
I remained silent, thinking for a moment as I imagine what would the man say to a young curious boy.
(*type*)
Seraph shook his head. "No, Jinhai. The tiers are not a ladder to ascend. The power one possesses is inherent, coursing through their blood. Once defined, it cannot be changed."
Am I even making sense to this kid?
He continued, "Those in the high tier wield significant influence and abilities but they are bound by the limitations of their tier. The peak tier is a realm reserved for the divine or those touched by divine entities, like the moon god." (*type*)
"It seems unfair. Even if you're in the high tier, unless the moon god blesses you, you're still below anyone else who holds that divine favor." Jinhai complained.
I stopped typing.
The young boy was right, it is unfair for everyone if the tier was all about who the gods favor. Such a heavy statement for someone with no experience in the real world. I wonder if I should make more gods?
"Ah but who cares it's just a novel I'm trying to make. Why am I even thinking of making more characters? It'll just make my life harder than it already is."
I leaned back on my chair and looked outside the window. "It same goes to this world anyway… If you have no high status, then you're already below anyone else. So, you gotta work hard to change that. "
(*type*) Seraph's gaze softened briefly, "Life is often unfair Jinhai. The divine blessings are not granted based on merit, but by the whims of gods. It's a truth we must accept, as harsh as it may be. Yet, power comes in many forms, and one's worth is not solely determined by their tier. High or low, every tier has its strengths and weaknesses. It's about how one uses their abilities to carve their own path."
"Okay that's enough for today. I have no more motivation"
I stopped typing, stood up from my chair, and went to the kitchen to drink some water.
"Look who's finally out from her office" my mom joked.
I remained silent and just grabbed some food. I sat down at the table and started eating.
"I received a notification from the college I want to go to. I was accepted"
My mom looked happy. "Really? That's great then!"
"But are you really sure about your course?"
I stared at my food for a brief moment. Of course I'm not. I'm only forced to take this because that's what you prefer.
"Yes, I'm sure."
-------
That night I went outside, and on the rooftop I sat down.
"I haven't even started college and I'm feeling all the burden already."
"I wonder if I'll do great..."
. . .
. .
.
AHHH! I don't want to think about it!
I looked up and saw a large shooting star passed by. The last time I saw such a star was back in my happiest days.
A shooting star. I should go and make a wish.
I wished that I could change the way of the world. So that I'm not bound by its laws and stuck at one place.
"I wish…"
-----
Under the moonlight, a young man with platinum haired longed for something. He looked up at the night sky and noticed a flickering star. It was getting bigger and brighter every second, he clasps his hands together.
"I wish"
"Something would change"
FOR THOSE WHO REMEMBER THE CRIES, THE PAIN.
"Hey, wake up now"
I was awakened by the light tap of someone.
"Mom… why are you waking me so early…" I moved to the side; however, I noticed something odd at my surrounding.
I blinked once… twice.
"Mom? Are you still dreaming?" the voice questioned me. Now that I think about it… That voice was not my mom's.
I jolted up awake. "WHAT? WHO ARE YOU?"
"WHO KIDNAPPED ME?"
"WHAT IS THIS PLACE!!!"
****
As I finally took my last sip of water I was finally back to my senses.
"Are you alright now?"
I looked at the brunette girl and nodded, noticing her full-on white clothing that's like she's ready for a funeral. "Yeah, so tell me why are you wearing such clothing?"
"You're definitely not alright."
"Just tell me."
"Well have you forgotten? We're here at the holy temple of Silverflower" the girl explained. "We just started our training to become a holy servant, remember now?"
Silverflower? I never heard of it in my country. So maybe I am currently dreaming right now? But I am aware like very aware… this is strange I should go and . . .
Before I could do anything, the girl had already smacked my head.
"OW! Why would you do that?"
"To knock some sense out of you." She replied.
"Wait… I'm hurt! I can feel it" I exclaimed.
The girl looked at me with a confused look in her face. "I'm starting to feel bad for you"
"So I'm not dreaming?! But – wait.."
