In the building of j and j enterprise, Kelly was the first to go up the stairs. Jack had planned for this, so as to not arouse any suspicions. Honestly he didn't know why, nobody hardly pays any attention around here. But be it a gut feeling or an intuition, he just decided not to take the risk and be careful.
Some few minutes after jack then followed behind, going up the stairs to the second floor first. Reaching, his co-workers were busy filling paperworks and office stuff like a normal Monday.
'Smooth and steady jack.' He muttered in his head, behaving how he normally does. Taking a seat on his desk, he gazed through the paperworks pretending to be busy. But in truth, he was freaking out on the inside.
His plan seemed solid, but could it truly be trusted to scale through? Sure it played out really well in his head, but this was real life. One wrong move, and the whole plan goes up in smoke.
"Phew.. you got this jack." Taking a deep breath, he calmed himself down. After some few minutes jack stood up, advancing to the restroom area which was coincidentally just at a bit down behind the stairs, at the Conner of the spacious room.
Moving calmly jack avoided eye contact, and spaced out a bit from the other workers. He wasn't going to take any chances, or he might be busted and would also implicate Kelly.
"Hey Jack!" A male in his late 20's, with gold razor cut hair putting on sunglasses said.
'Fuck! why now of all times.' Jack cursed clenching his fist a bit. He'd never been stopped or approached before by a colleague, as the paperwork was always brought before they resumed in the morning. And the one's they've attended to were removed after work.
"Yes, what's up Ryan?" Jack calmly said, turning round with a light smile.
"Nothing. I need you to do some of my paperwork." Ryan casually spoke, in his hands were a bunch of paperwork.
Staring at him jack wanted to decline, but he chose not too so as to not ruin things.
"Of course Ryan, haha! what are friends for?" Jack laughed wholeheartedly. "You can just put it on my desk, I promise to attend to them as soon as am back from the gent's room." Jack awkwardly uttered, turning round and walking away to the restroom leaving Ryan standing there confused.
'Weird.. I expected him to put up a fight.' Ryan thought, staring at Jack's back fading. The former could smell something fishy, but in the end he shrugged it off as nothing.
'Mhm. He's just a weirdo.. as long as he knows his place in the gutters.' Shaking his head a bit, Ryan then went back to his desk.
"Phew.. that was close." Jack sighed, peeping through the small gap on the restroom door. He'd thought Ryan had gotten hold of him for sure, but luckily everything went ok.
'Good thing there isn't anyone using the toilet, or I'll be called a freak for life.' Luckily there wasn't anyone in the room with jack, or they'd definitely suspect something.
Cross checking, he made sure the coast was clear before he stepped out and scrambled through the stairs. Up on the third floor, he quickly spotted Kelly besides the steps.
"Act normal.' hastingly walking he met up with her, as they both proceeded up to the fourth floor.
"What kept you?" Kelly frowned a bit annoyed.
"Sorry.. a slight setback."
"Well, don't you think it's a sign?"
"I don't believe in signs." Jack shrugged, making Kelly roll her eyes.
"So all you have to do is distract the guard, and buy me enough time to make it in and out the template room." Jack explained for the second time watching ahead.
"I know the plan. Tsk.. am not a child anymore you know, stop being so worried." Kelly scoffed whilst blushing a bit.
"Oh am not worried about you. Am worried you won't buy me enough time." Jack joked earning a blow from Kelly.
'Alright, it's go time.' Calmly walking ,Kelly made her way past the office desks going back to a passage. There a female guard in the official blue and black uniform patrolled, back and forth the passage.
"Excuse me!" Kelly called out, garning the attention of the female guard.
"Yes?"
"Sorry to intrude.. but I can't seem to get my drawer open, and there are some really important paperworks that needs to be delivered." Darting a cold stare at Kelly, the female guard was clearly annoyed by this proud office worker, but she maintained a calm face.
"Sure, where's your desk at?"
"Ohh! it's just on the third floor." Kelly smiled, making the guard's eye twitch more.
"Are you fucking kidding me? What the hell are you even doing here." She questioned, reaching out for the wooden baton at her back.
'Shit.. don't you dare screw this lady luck.' Jack cursed gritting his teeth. He was hiding behind some tall decoration flowers, observing the scene. He could tell the guard was gaining on to Kelly, and just as he was about to step in Kelly suddenly burst out in laughter.
"Haha!! Am sorry.. it's just am such a scrooge, and we're both going to be really screwed if those papers aren't passed." Startled a bit, the female guard stared at Kelly for some seconds contemplating something.
"Fine, let's go."
"Really.. thank you so much I owe you one." Kelly smiled hugging the guard.
"Don't fucking touch me." The female guard frowned shoving Kelly away, snorting and walking out.
"See, piece of cake." Kelly smiled, secretly tossing the set of keys she'd taken from the female guard unaware to jack.
'Women..' shaking his head, jack proceeded to the passage going down to the end. Stopping by the right of this narrow side, in front of a brown door.
'I should have about 2 minutes, before the guard discovers Kelly was lying and returns back here.' With that in mind, his hand scrambled through the keys stopping at one. Slotting it into the keyhole, he twisted right as the door clanked open.
'The golden templates should be arranged in rows, in alphabetical order.' Entering just like he'd expected, the golden templates were arranged in rows on small stands. Quickly moving, Jack passed through alphabets A till he reached J.
"Jim, Jane.. ah! Jack Anderson." He grinned, seeing his spare golden template just like he'd predicted. Grabbing it he then walked out the room, locking the door.
'Seems like lady luck had a change of heart afterall.' Jack smiled, having completed the mission in record time. But he may have spoken to soon, as he sighted the female guard returning to her post.
'Shit.' Hiding behind a tall set of flowers, jack could see Kelly trying to distract the guard but the latter paid not attention.
"Come on Shelly~ I swear the drawer was jammed when I got in this morning."
*Yeah right." Shelly rolled her eyes at Kelly, not buying her story one bit.
"Don't tell me you think am a liar."
"No not a liar, but a spoilt office brat who thinks life is all roses and fairytales." Shelly retorded, stopping just a bit in front where jack was.
"I mean what the hell is it with you office shits? Just because you sit behind a desk and fill some fucking paperwork, doesn't make you superior to us." Shelly angrily spoke folding her arms.
'Damn, he's cornered.' Kelly noticed jack was behind the flowers, because he signalled her. Luckily Shelly hadn't noticed, or they wouldn't be having this conversation.
"I mean why does your small peanut senses, always think you're significant than us huh? That you ass lickers mattered." Thinking of what to do, Kelly's mind raced fast or their little stunt would soon be discovered.
"You're right." Kelly abruptly said. "We're just a bunch of ass lickers." Without warning, shelly was slapped across the face by Kelly.
'Pha!' It was like something popped, as everyone in the room attention was directed to these two.
What the-
"But don't forget that we 'ass lickers' are the ones keeping this company running, which in turn pays dogs like you salaries." Kelly coldly spoke with a neutral expression. Everyone in the room was stunned including jack, but they didn't utter a word.
Just as things were about to get hotter, Kelly suddenly hugged Shelly tightly.
"A-am sorry.. I have a disease which disrupts my emotions sometimes. I didn't mean any of what I said." Kelly cried, hugging Shelly more tightly. She then gestured jack to pass her the key, and walk out.
'Alright, here goes nothing..' with adrenaline coursing through his veins he walked out. handing the key to Kelly, whom placed it on the hook by Shelly's side turning the latter's view so jack could pass.
Only when jack was through did Kelly let go.
"If you ever need a sister to cry with, am here for you." Kelly softly said, turning round and walking away.
'What the fuck just happened?' Shelly wondered still in shock, blankly staring ahead
