"Well that was unexpected." Jack blurted out halfway down the stairs. "I didn't know you were such a good actress."
"And I didn't know you were such a scaredy cat. I could literally hear you shaking in your pants behind those leaves. Are you really that much of a coward?" Kelly coldly said without any emotion, making jack stop in his tracks. Staring at her he was confused, trying to make out if she was pretending or not.
But with such a poker face, he found it hard to make her out.
"Hahaha~ you should see your face right now in the mirror." Kelly burst out in laughter unable to hold it anymore, staring at Jack's confused face. She'd decided to prank jack while descending the steps to see his reaction, and she didn't regret it.
"Not funny." Jack frowned, not ok with Kelly's little prank.
"Relax, I was just teasing you." Kelly nudged him, but only received a snort from Jack who avoided her advances.
"Tsk.. how dare you get angry. You're the one that risked both our lives just now, and you're getting mad? Hmm!" Kelly angrily pouted walking away, but was grabbed before she took another step.
"You're hot headed." Jack softly said pulling her to him, placing her to the wall. Both his hands were placed on the wall, as his face was just inches from her.
"Just the way I like it." Jack smiled, staring directly into her eyes.
"W-what are you doing?" Kelly stuttered, her face turning red. She was startled by Jack's action not expecting this, as her breathing had now gotten a bit rough.
"What do you think?" Placing his left hand to her face, jack brushed the strands of hair away. Which further added more fuel to the fire, already burning in Kelly's mind.
'I've always been the one taking initiatives but now that he does, why do I feel so helpless.' Kelly wondered, staring at Jack's face. Even though his body lacked nutrients and was frail, he still had a handsome and attractive face.
'His lips are so close to mine, i-i can just taste them~ no! what am I thinking, ahh!' Kelly inwardly screamed, her heart thumping faster by the second. Her mind was struggling to keep hold off reality, as she was gradually falling into the temptations of desire.
"W-we can't do this here or we'll be caught."
"It'll be more fun with people watching, don't you think?" Jack seductively spoke, making Kelly's mind explode with unholy thoughts.
"Ahh! You're such a pervert." She screamed pushing jack away, clutching her heart that seemed it'll explode any second now.
"Haha! I didn't think the all so sexy Kelly would be this fragile." Jack grinned nodding his head a bit, with a proud look of accomplishment.
"Who's the greater tease now huh?" Shaking his head a bit, he then walked over to where Kelly stood. Wrapping his hands around her from behind, he hugged her in a deep embrace.
"Thank you, for always being there for me." He softly said savouring her scent. Feeling his hot breath colliding against her neck, made Kelly more vulnerable.
Removing his hands from her, Kelly then turned around planting a hot slap to Jack's face.
"I had that coming, but I said-"
He couldn't finish his words as Kelly planted her lips to his, catching him off guard. Surprised at first jack eventually gave in, pressing his lips more to her's. His hands tracing the outline of her bra through her shirt, while she carrased his hair.
After about a whole minute of kissing they finally let go, panting a bit.
"T-that was unexpected." Kelly smiled, her face all red flushed with embarrassment.
"Yeah.. anyways, I was thinking~ would you like to come over to my place today after work, for dinner?"
"Of course. I have some chores to do at home first, but you can pick me up by 7pm." Nodding, the duo then hugged before parting ways. Kelly went to her desk on the third floor, and jack did the same.
"Great, more paperwork." Jack sighed not knowing whether to cry or laugh, at the mountains of paperwork staring him down.
Peeping, he checked Ryan and saw the latter busy with some office files. He could tell Ryan didn't suspect him but still, there was this lingering fear at the back of his mind.
'I might have to keep an eye on him for a few days.' Jack thought. He then got busy attending to the work on desk, making sure to fill out Ryan's work first before his.
And so time flied right before his eyes, reaching lunch break. Kelly passed by at usual with the brown bag, dropping it on his desk.
"Don't be late." She whispered kissing him, walking away with a red face. Taking some few bites, jack then proceeded back with duty. and in the blink of an eye, it was the end of another day.
Finishing up, Jack could already see Kelly descending down the steps. Holding hands they went out the doors, to the checkpoints to validate themselves.
"Where's your golden-"
Jack casually pulled out the golden template, before the guard could finish his sentence.
"Be quick would ya, I have a date." Jack proudly spoke, puffing his chest a bit with a smug grin. The male guard was shocked seeing jack with his golden template, not expecting it at all.
"Here you go." Handing it back, the guard also checked-out Kelly's golden template validating them free.
"Mhmm.. did you see the surprised look on the guard face?" Kelly giggled swinging both their arms.
"Yeah~ though a little too surprised don't you think?" Jack couldn't put his finger on it, but he could've sworn the guards face were a bit too surprised. Like he wasn't meant to find his golden template.
"Of course they're surprised, they wanted to pummel you to a pulp but you escaped. Again.." Kelly shrugged, not seeing anything suspicious about the guards.
"Haha! You're right." Grabbing her by the waist, he pulled her body to his. "As long as I have my good luck charm here, am resistant to bad luck."
"Jeez.. you're such a playboy." Kelly smirked shoving him away, as they'd now reached the lane leading to her house.
"Remember, pick me up by 7pm. No sooner no later." Stretching a bit, she planted a kiss to his cheeks walking away.
"Don't be late!"
"I-i won't." Jack uttered with lovestruck eyes. Rushing to his apartment, he had a smile on his face. Usually everyday was the same, downcast and boring. But today felt great!
"Anderson!" He was called out by miss Lou, patiently waiting by his door as soon as he came up the steps.
"Time's up Anderson, where the hell is my rent?" She growled like a savage beast, about to pounce on her prey.
With a deep sigh: "I'll be honest with you miss Lou. I don't have the rent, the company's been on a backlash these days and our salaries have been withheld, until further notice. So if you want to throw me out fine. I understand."
Hearing jack words, miss Lou seemed to be thinking over it for a while. "Haha! that was the most fucking, bullshit story I've heard in a while boy. You really are a bloody born liar."
She crackled wiping a tear off her eyes, with her face turning serious.
"You know the rules boy. No payment no service. Evacuate the room by tomorrow, or the cops will throw you out."
"I understand. Thank you, miss Lou." Jack calmly said startling miss Lou as she'd expected him to be on his knees begging her.
"Why the hell are you so calm, and what's with that smug grin on your face? It looks like you're about to get laid."
"Well, I wouldn't say laid... More like a date."
Jack smiled, his mind relieving the awkward way he started today which turned out good for him in the end.
"Haha! you're killing me boy." Lou mockingly laughed. "I for sure as crack won't go out with you, so which bitch in-" she paused remembering something.
"Wait.. don't tell me you scored a chance with that hot brunette chick from yesterday?"
"Her name is Kelly and no, we haven't done anything serious. Not yet at least." Jack chuckled, further enraging miss Lou the more.
"Now if you don't mind, I have a date to prepare for." Jack said entering his room and shutting the door, leaving a bewildered miss Lou outside.
'I have to make sure am in best appearance for Kelly.' Jack thought quickly getting to work, tidying up his one room apartment. He then took a hot shower for about 30 minutes.
'Not yet enough, maybe more.' Using up another 30 minutes making an hour, he got hour. Choosing the best clothes he had, was a dark green suit and black pants.
Opening his drawers, he emptied the little remaining perfume on himself.
"Now I wait." He said sitting on the bed, planning out his words for kelly as time flew past. Just as evening dawn he was about heading out, but heard a knock from the door.
"I thought I was meant to pick-"
"Jack Anderson! your attention is required at the office." In front of his door were a couple of about four guards, from j and j enterprise.
'Fuck they must've known.' Jack thought, his heart beating faster against his chest.
"W-why? Work is closed until tomorrow." Jack built up the boldness to speak, but his mind was in a dilemma.
"This isn't about office work, the boss wants to see you." The male guard said in a commanding tone.
"T-the boss, but why?"
"When you get there you'll know, let's go." With no choice to deny, jack then locked the door following them. He was sweating all over, as even his steps were clumsy.
He was supposed to have dinner with Kelly and life goes on, but good luck didn't like him.
He didn't know why the boss of j and j enterprise wanted to see him, but he had an unsettling nerve that this was just the calm before the storm.
