Meiji: "Food's almost done!"
Arthur: "Seiteki, go wake up Soba while we set the table."
Seiteki nodded before heading up the stairs.
Seiteki: "Soba time to ea-"
As she opened the door she saw Soba changing his shirt and saw a lot of bruises and scars on his back.
Seiteki: "What happened?"
He didn't say anything, just showed her the mark on his hand.
Seiteki: "All that because of a mark?"
Soba: "People hate fairies, and this apparently links me to them."
Soba finishes putting his shirt on.
Soba: "Let's go."
They walk down stairs together and Soba sees how much taller Seiteki is than him. He decides he'd rather jump down the stairs then look short. Soba takes a seat and Meiji starts placing plates of food in front of everyone.
Ite: "Wow this looks amazing."
Arthur: "I wouldn't expect anything less from the daughter of Mary Pikushī."
Ite: "Mary Pikushī is your mom!? She used to come cook for Lady Robin!"
Meiji just smiles. Bakku smirks.
Bakku: "Hey Arthur, I'm not that hungry. Take my plate too."
Arthur: "Really!? Thanks buddy ol pal! Alright let's eat!"
Everyone: "Thanks for the meal."
They all take one bite of the food before stopping immediately. Arthur swallows and slams his hand on the table.
Arthur: "What. The. Hell. Is. This."
Bakku tries and fails to hold back his laughter. Meiji looks sad.
Bakku: "Sorry, I forgot to mention-"
He snickers.
Bakku: "Meiji might single-handedly be the worst cook in history!"
Seiteki and Ite spit their food out. Bakku burst into laughter.
Arthur: "Come on guys, it's not that bad."
Arthur takes another bite and swallows the food. He falls to the ground holding his stomach.
Meiji: "Sorry guys. I thought I got better."
Ite: "I didn't know food could taste this bad."
Seiteki: "Sorry Meiji but this is actually inedible."
Arthur: "Come on guys, it's not that bad."
Ite: "He's so delirious he's saying the same thing twice."
Bakku, while still laughing, looks at Soba.
Bakku: "Soba is taking it so badly he hasn't spoken yet."
Soba swallows and then stuffs the rest of the food into his mouth.
Bakku: "Wait, don't do that! You'll die, you idiot!"
Soba then grabs everyone else's plates and starts eating their food.
Meiji: "Soba you don't have to do that to make me feel better."
Soba looks over to her with tears in his eyes.
Soba: "Are you kidding me? This is the best food I've ever tasted!"
The room went silent except for the sound of Soba eating.
Arthur: "He's gotta be lying."
Ite: "Look at him. No one's that good of an actor.
Meiji walks up to Soba smiling.
Meiji: "You really love my cooking?"
Soba: "Yeah it's amazing!"
Meiji: "Then I'll make sure to cook every night!"
Arthur: "No!"
Ite: "Never again!"
Seiteki puts their heads down.
Seiteki: "What these two mean to say is, maybe someone else should cook for everyone else and you can cook for Soba?"
Meiji: "Yeah that works. Bakku you can cook."
Bakku: "What, why me!"
Meiji: "My mom taught you how to cook. You should do fine."
Bakku drops his head.
Bakku: "If I have to."
Meiji: "It's a deal. Bakku go cook dinner."
Bakku: "Way ahead of you."
Bakku walks into the kitchen and comes back with a new pot of food.
Bakku: "I knew you'd fail to make an edible meal."
He glances at Soba.
Bakku: "Failed to be edible for most."
Meiji: "Let's finish eating and then head to the back. We can sit around the fire."
White Petals Guild Hall. Backyard.
Soba sat down in front of the fire next to Arthur.
Arthur: "Well now that we're all settled in, let's give proper introductions."
Arthur stands.
Arthur: "I'll start. As I'm pretty sure you all know, I'm Arthur Dragon. I was the vice captain of the Dragon Fangs and debatably top three Knights of the Sword Kingdom."
Bakku interrupted.
Bakku: "Debatably?"
Arthur: "It depends on how you look at it. If you count the God's Guard, I'm not in the top three."
Bakku nods. Arthur draws his sword.
Arthur: "This is my weapon, Excalibur. I have Strength magic. Pretty basic but it gets the job done."
Soba: "What's Strength magic?"
Arthur walks to a tree and taps it. It falls down.
Soba: "Oh."
Arthur sits down.
Arthur: "Who's next?"
Meiji stands.
Meiji: "Meiji Pikushī. I'm your leader, by title mostly. Arthur is taking the reins until I get a hang of it."
Ite: "You guys said Arthur came to you last month. Was this guild already a thing before?
Meiji: "Yeah, but we weren't really a good one. Me and Bakku aren't really head on fighters so we couldn't get that strong by ourselves. We actually started three years ago but we were getting nothing but 1 star jobs."
Ite: "I didn't even know they assigned 1 star jobs to two Knights."
Meiji draws her sword.
Meiji: "This is my sword, Iyashi. I have healing magic. I like to think I'm pretty good at it, so I'll mostly be support if we get into any fights.
Meiji sits and Bakku stands.
Bakku: "Bakku Fenikkusu. Vice Captain."
He starts reaching for his sword and Meiji nudges him.
Meiji: "Be nice."
Bakku sighs and takes out his sword.
Bakku: "This is my sword, Hansha. I have reflect magic so I'll be all of your shields. Except you Arthur."
Bakku sits down.
Arthur: "I still don't know what you have against me."
Bakku: "I just don't like your face."
Meiji: "Can you two try to get along."
Bakku rolls his eyes. Ite stands up.
Ite: "I'm Ite Kentaurosu. I'm from the Bow Kingdom and a former member of the Blood Knights."
Soba: "Who are the Blood Knights?"
They all look at him confused.
Bakku: "I know you grew up in the boonies, but that's a little extreme."
Soba looks embarrassed.
Arthur: "The Blood Knights are the number 1 guild in the Bow Kingdom. They're like the Dragon Fangs but much more horrifying."
Ite looks confused.
Ite: "The Blood Knights aren't horrifying. We're all pretty chill."
Arthur looks creeped out.
Arthur: "Tell that to Drulica."
A shiver shoots down Ite's spine.
Ite: "Right, forgot about her."
Seiteki: "I've heard about the Blood Knights and Drulica, but I don't know much about her."
Arthur: "The woman's a total freak of nature. She's one of the most powerful people in the Bow Kingdom and super weird."
Ite: "I can second that."
Soba: "So she's one of the most powerful in the Bow Kingdom and you're one of the most powerful in the Sword Kingdom. Who'd win if you two fought?"
Arthur looks at Soba with a serious face.
Arthur: "In any situation, under no scenario will we ever challenge that woman to a fight. She'd wipe us all off the face of the planet."
Soba looked a little scared. Ite remembered why she was standing and reached for her bow.
Ite: "This my bow, Enerugī. I have energy magic, which makes arrows a lot less costly."
She lifts her hand out and green energy emanates from it before turning into an arrow. She sits down.
Ite: "Pretty useful."
Seiteki stands up.
Seiteki: "I'm Seiteki Yunikōn. I just got out of the academy and so I'm guessing I have the least amount of experience out of all of us."
Arthur: "You and Soba. You two are the same age. Both lack experience as well."
Seiteki: "Really? Your father didn't train you?"
Soba looks down.
Soba: "He used to but I stopped it. Didn't seem useful."
Seiteki: "So you have the least amount of formal training. Interesting."
Seiteki stands there for a minute before realizing that she wasn't done. She draws her sword.
Seiteki: "This is my sword, Raitoningu. I have lightning magic."
She makes sparks in her hands and smiles.
Seiteki: "Cool right."
Soba: "What's with the cloth? I've never seen someone wrap cloth around their blade."
Seiteki looked nervous.
Arthur: "That's a private subject, Soba. She'll tell us when she's ready."
Ite: "You're speaking like you already know."
Arthur: "Of course I do. I know a lot about all of you."
Seiteki sits down and Soba stands. He tries to gather his thoughts before talking.
Soba: "My name is Soba R. Yōsei. I'm guessing I'm supposed to tell one odd fact about myself or something."
Soba thinks to himself.
Soba: "I'm super flexible."
Soba bends himself backwards and then folds his body in on itself.
Bakku: "Ewww what the hell!"
Arthur: "That's awesome!"
Ite: "Why does your body work like that?"
Seiteki: "I think he might be missing a spine."
Soba: "It's not that weird. My mom can do the same thing."
Arthur smirks.
Arthur: "Well Kase is definitely happy."
Soba looks confused before fixing his body. Soba then draws Chikara.
Soba: "This is Chikara."
Chikara appears.
Chikara: "Hi!"
Soba: "You know they can't hear you right."
Chikara: "Of course I know that."
She was lying. Soba and Chikara continue to argue. Bakku whispers to Arthur.
Bakku: "Does he talk to himself often?"
Arthur: "I think he's still getting the hang of having a voice in his head."
Soba: "You know what, I'm not gonna argue with you. She has force magic. Which I'm still confused about the workings of."
Ite: "You don't know how your magic works?"
Soba: "I just got her."
Arthur: "That does bring up the question, how'd you get that sword Soba? I know it wasn't from Luke. I was there on your Gift Day."
Soba: "It's a long story."
Soba explains the story of how he obtained Chikara.
Seiteki: "A random sword at the bottom of the sea."
Arthur: "And a skilled blacksmith from years ago. I'm guessing that's Luke, but I don't know. Soba, can't you ask Chikara about all of this?"
Soba: "Sorry, no. It's a sensitive topic for her so I'd rather not know."
They all sit in silence for a moment.
Arthur: "Idea! Tomorrow Soba, Seiteki, and Ite will go to Luke's shop and ask him about Chikara. I'll go with Bakku and Meiji to get us all some jobs. We're pretty poor."
Soba grimaced at the thought of seeing Luke again.
Meiji: "That should work. Before we head to sleep though, let's check our fang counts."
They all hold out the hilts of their weapons. Meiji's has 1 fang on the hilt of her sword, Bakku has 2, Arthur and Seiteki have 4, Ite has 3 on her bow, but Soba's didn't show any.
Bakku: "Looks like we're still the weakest Meiji."
Meiji awkwardly laughs to herself.
Ite: "I wasn't expecting anyone to be as strong as Arthur."
Arthur: "Told you all Seiteki had potential!"
Seiteki: "Soba, why don't I see any of your fangs?"
Soba looks at his hilt
questioningly.
Soba: "I have no idea."
Ite: "Another question to ask Luke."
Arthur claps his hands together and stands up.
Arthur: "For now, let's head to bed. Big day tomorrow!"
