Ite and Seiteki walk up to a carriage.
Ite: "How long for a ride to Waikako village."
Driver: "Could probably get there by tonight."
Ite: "Take your time. We need some sleep."
They board the carriage and Ite closes her eyes. A few minutes later she opens her eyes and sees Seiteki struggling to stay awake.
Ite: "Go to sleep. There's no reason for you to stay up."
Seiteki: "Um yeah, ok."
Seiteki closes her eyes and Ite falls asleep.
6 hours later. Waikako Village.
Driver: "We're here ladies."
Ite wakes up and sees Seiteki looking outside. Seiteki looks sleep deprived. They pay the driver and start to walk into the village.
Ite: "You slept, right?"
Seiteki: "No, I'm not hungry."
Ite: "What?"
Seiteki: "I said I'm fine."
They reach town hall and walk inside. They see a man with a long beard pacing back and forth. He sees them and looks ecstatic.
Mayor: "Oh thank goodness! You must be the knights we hired."
Ite: "Yes. We're from the White Petals guild."
Mayor: "Never heard of them. You must be new. You will be able to deal with our Goblin problems right?"
Ite: "Ah goblins. That explains why you listed "bandits". Not many are willing to deal with the thieving little basterds."
Mayor: "I apologize for being dishonest. We've already tracked them down if that's any comfort."
Ite: "That does make things easier. We'll attack tonight. Getting them while they're sleeping will make this simple."
The mayor hands Ite a map and they walk out of the building. Ite follows the map with Seiteki trailing behind her. They reach a cave and see dozens of goblins sleeping with a large chest at the end of the cave. The two of them sneak through the cave, stepping over goblins. As Ite reaches the chest she sees Seiteki wobbling around a few feet behind her. Seiteki passes out and falls on a goblin, alerting all of them. The goblins screech and rush towards Ite.
Ite: "Damn it!"
Ite jumps over the goblins and grabs her bow. She aims an arrow.
Ite: "Chain."
She releases an arrow in the shape of a chain that goes towards Seiteki. A goblin swings a club at the chain, knocking it off course. Ite lands on the right side of the cave and the goblins surround her. They start to walk up to her. Ite sees Seiteki stand up and smile, but she looks off. Her blonde hair is pitch black and her sea blues eyes a scarlet red.
Ite: "Seiteki?"
Seiteki responds in a deep feminine voice.
Seiteki?: "Not quite."
She grabs her sword and slashes it in a horizontal line. Black and red lightning comes out and kills every goblin in the cave. Ite places an energy barrier in front of her to guard herself. The lightning breaks through the barrier and smashes Ite through the cave wall. Ite coughs and grabs her bow as she backs up.
Ite: "Seiteki what the hell!?"
Seiteki?: "Sorry, just gotta let off some steam. I have been locked away for seven fucking years!"
She unleashes another slash toward Ite. Ite dodges to the side. She shoots an arrow at Seiteki's shoulder. Seiteki grabs the arrow out of the air.
Seiteki?: "I expected more from you. Although I guess the man with the orange hair is the only one who can actually give me a challenge. Since you can't entertain me…"
Seiteki flashes behind Ite.
Seiteki?: "I'm gonna kill you."
Seiteki raises her sword and starts to swing it down onto Ite. Before it reaches her Seiteki stops her arm and falls back.
Seiteki?: "Damn it. Not yet. 30 more seconds."
Seiteki responds to herself in her normal voice.
Seiteki: "No. I'm done letting you hurt people. Give me my damn body back!"
Red sparks jump off her body and her eyes and hair turn back. Seiteki faints. Ite sits in silence before standing up, putting Seiteki on her back, attaching a chain to the chest, and walking back to the village.
Ite: "I'm so done with this God damn kingdom. First, I get roped into a guild with a bunch of freaks. Then, this delusional brat keeps getting into fights and screaming that he's gonna be Sword God. Heigeki would actually like him. Now, I'm on a mission, fighting goblins with some chick possessed by a demon."
Seiteki: "I'm sorry."
Ite stops walking.
Ite: "How much did you hear?"
Seiteki: "Just the part about me."
Ite starts walking again.
Ite: "Sorry. It's not your fault. Cursed sword I guess."
Seiteki: "Did Arthur tell you?"
Ite: "No. I have a friend from here. He told me about how imps like to inhabit swords. I'm guessing yours is more rowdy than the usual."
Seiteki: "That's an understatement. I've never seen any other Imp take over someone's body."
Ite: "It's fine. She only comes out when you sleep?"
Seiteki: "Yeah. When I was in the dojo they put me in a room to sleep and just let her go wild, but….."
She trails off.
Seiteki: "I didn't want to hurt any of you. So I thought I'd be able to just not sleep."
Ite: "You know that wouldn't last. You don't need to keep this all to yourself. You can rely on us. Especially me."
Seiteki: "Like having a big sister. I always wanted one."
Ite stops.
Seiteki: "You ok?"
Ite: "Yeah. I'll protect you. I promise."
Seiteki: "Thanks. I'll protect you too."
