Soba, Seiteki, and Ite run up to Luke's shop and burst through the doors. They see Lisa at the counter with Karito and two people next to him, a girl with long light blue hair and a boy with short blond hair. Karito turns around and sees Soba. The two make eye contact.
Karito and Soba: "What are you doing here!?"
Ite: "We don't have time for this. Lisa, where's Luke?"
Lisa: "In his room. Down the hall on the left. Please don't knock on or open the right door."
Seiteki: "Thanks."
Ite and Seiteki drag Soba away as he glares at Karito. They reach the end of the hallway and see two doors. Soba reaches for the door on the right and Ite slaps his hand.
Ite: "Why do you find it so hard to follow orders?"
Ite opens the left door. They all walk in and see Luke sitting in a chair by a fireplace with another chair opposite of him.
Luke: "Seiteki, nice to see you again. Ite, I see you're making yourself comfortable in our Kingdom. And Soba, I thought you'd try to join a guild, didn't think it'd be the same one as Arthur though. Best way for him to keep an eye on you I guess."
Luke picks up his tea and takes a sip of it.
Luke: "What are you three doing here?"
Ite: "We have a few-"
Soba: "Are you really just gonna talk to me like you didn't embarrass me seven years ago?"
Luke sits his tea down and stands.
Luke: "I hope you aren't expecting an apology."
Soba clenches his fist and reaches for Chikara.
Luke: "I made the right decision. Better safe than sorry."
Ite grabs Soba's wrist.
Ite: "He'll kill you."
Luke notices Chikara and immediately gets upset.
Luke: "Where the hell did you get that sword!?"
Soba: "Why do you care? Do you know something about her?"
Luke lifts his hand and Chikara goes flying to him. Chikara appears and looks horrified.
Luke: "I thought I threw you to the bottom of the ocean."
Chikara: "Master, I-"
Luke: "Quiet."
Luke walks towards the fire.
Luke: "I guess melting you down is the only solution."
Soba jumps towards Luke and punches him in the back of his head. Luke drops Chikara and Soba grabs her before she can fall into the fire.
Soba: "I'm not letting you kill her. You're not keeping me from being the Sword God either."
Luke turns and looks Soba in the eyes.
Luke: "Two mistakes working together claiming that they'll become God. This really is a child's fantasy."
Seiteki: "Mistakes?"
Luke: "The Yōsei boy made a slave to the fairies once more, and that terrible excuse for a sword. I regret making you. I was young and weak. It's not your fault, you just follow your father."
Luke sits back down in his chair. He waves his hand at Soba.
Luke: "Use the sword if you like, but don't expect me to fix it when you break that brittle blade."
Soba grits his teeth before turning around.
Soba: "I will become Sword God. I'm not letting you, or Karito, or anyone else stop me, and if you plan to make Arthur get in my way, I'll cut him down too."
Soba walks out of the room. Seiteki and Ite bow.
Ite: "Sorry about him."
Luke: "Don't be. He takes after his mother. You should've seen her after I spoke up after his birth."
Before they follow after Soba, Seiteki turns to Luke.
Seiteki: "If you don't mind me asking Lord Luke, why is Soba able to use Chikara?"
Luke: "Because anyone can use her. I didn't have a specific person in mind for who she would be given to when I made her, so anyone can use her. That in turn makes her far weaker than any one fang though."
Seiteki: "I see."
The two follow after Soba. Luke sits, thinking and staring into the fire.
Luke: "Looks exactly like Kase but behaves like Koda. My life would be so much easier if it was the other way around."
Luke looks at the empty chair opposite of him.
Luke: "Those sea blue eyes are the exact opposite of yours. That being said."
He pauses.
Luke: "The look is the same."
Luke closes his eyes and thinks back.
Soba: "I will become Sword God."
Then farther.
Ken: "I'll free all of us. I promise!"
Luke opens his eyes and sheds a tear.
Luke: "I can't believe I actually miss that idiot."
He walks over to the wall and grabs a sword mounted on it.
White Petals Guild hall. 30 minutes later.
Soba walks into the building with Seiteki and Ite behind him. They see Arthur, Bakku, and Meiji sitting at the table.
Bakku: "You're late."
Ite: "We had a distraction. Nothing bad."
Arthur: "I'm guessing it has something to do with why Soba's so dirty. And depressed looking."
Ite: "Halfway."
Ite explains everything that happened. After she's done, Arthur grabs Soba by the shoulder.
Arthur: "Are you insane! Attacking Luke is the last thing you need right now! He could've killed you, and he wouldn't even be wrong for it!"
Soba pushes Arthur back.
Soba: "So what was I supposed to do!? Let him kill Chikara!?"
Arthur: "That's not what I-"
Arthur stops himself and sighs.
Arthur: "Just don't do it again ok. We all care about you Soba, so the last thing any of us want is to see you hurt."
They all sit in silence for a small time.
Meiji: "On a brighter note, we've all got jobs! Thanks to Arthur, we were able to convince them to give us two 2 star jobs, and a 3 star job."
Bakku: "Yeah, beforehand we got nothing but 1 star jobs so this'll definitely be a boost in money."
Arthur: "It'll be better if we did these in sets of two. Soba and Bakku will take the job in Cait village. Seiteki and Ite will take over the job in Waikako village. And Meiji and I will go to Tenzin city."
Soba: "Why do you two get the 3 star job!?"
Arthur: "Do you
know how to heal the sick and injured?"
Soba: "Define heal?"
Arthur: "Exactly."
