As the days went by, Mr Qi, her master, taught her everything need be from breathing to taking in her surroundings as part of her. The training to enhance her senses was quite difficult for an eight year old American girl but that didn't make little Luna complain or stop infact it pushed her to learn more. The word is strong, remember?
"Luna, where have you been today?" Mr Gray asked with a smile when she entered the house.
" I have some friends outside so I play with them" little Luna said with a smile as Mr green lifted her up.
" Wow you have friends now and I can see that you're happy. I'll give you some money to buy candies for them okay" he said with a smile and she smiled back knowing it wasn't about a friend but about her master. It's also not wrong to buy her master some candies right?
Luna as usual was excited since Mr Qi told her he was going to take her to a place that he'll be teaching her from now onwards and they will be having new lessons today.
As she rushed there, she saw a little black girl somewhere around her age running in the alley. She saw a group of older men chasing the girl so, taking in the voice that her master also used" Luna we save those in need of it, so be strong and protect others"
She felt a strong urge as she run through a different alley and just as the little girl appeared from the other end, she immediately pulled her into the corner with her hand on her mouth. The other girl tried to fight and free herself but Luna whispered
" She, it's me. You don't like us getting caught, do you?"
That's it and the girl fell into dead beat silence even though, the panic never left her eyes. They hid there for a while before Luna assured her and led her away. When they got to a place closer to the park, Luna turned to face her and let go of her hand.
" Now you can go home and don't get yourself into trouble" little Luna said before turning to leave with a smile but the other girl kept quiet.
Luna then hurried to the tree in the park where Mr Qi always met her and taught her but she knew she was late. When she got there she saw him sitting on the ground with his back in the trunk if the tree as he stared at the sky.
" You're late, little Miss" he said as he stared at the sky above.
" Yes am sorry but I saved someone today" she said, a little bit of excitement tinted within.
" Saved?" He asked amused clearly wanting to know her definition of the word.
"Yes, I saw this little girl being chased by bad guys..." Little Luna explained with a light in her eyes in one breath and he smiled watching her.
" How did you know they were bad guys and not her?" He asked as she sat beside him.
" They were big and scary and she seemed hurt" she said with a thoughtful expression and he smiled.
" Is she the one?" He said as he angled his chin to her side.
" Who?" Luna asked as she turn d and lo and behold, there stood the black girl from earlier.
" Hey, how did you get here. I said goodbye to you?" Luna said with a slight frown on her face but the little girl kept quiet as she watched between the two seemingly not understanding anything.
" Is she the one you saved?" Mr Qi asked from behind her as he stood up from the ground effortlessly.
" Yes" Luna said as she looked at the girl with the same frown on her face.
" Good" he said as he looked at the girl with a straight face but with a lot of calmness.
" Do you perhaps think she's deaf, master?" Luna asked not hearing his earlier comment.
" No, she just doesn't seem to understand what you're saying. Seems shes a foreigner" he said and Luna turned to her and looked at her with a now curious face as she studied her.
" Come" Mr Qi said waving her over and even though she looked confused sge stied walked towards them but surprisingly, she stood behind Luna as stared at Mr Qi with weary eyes.
" What's a foreigner?" Luna asked.
" A foreigner is just like me. I am not from this country and so is she. She seems to trust you even though she doesn't understand you. Do you perhaps want her to stay and I'll teach her with you?" He asked.
" Is I say no, would you let her leave?" Luna asked and without a hint of hesitation, he nodded.
Luna turned and looked at the girl whose height was just a few lesser than hers and the look in her eyes before turning to him again.
" Let's keep her, she'll be my friend from now on" Luna said as she took the girls hand in hers and pulled her to stand beside her.
" Yes, little miss" Mr Qi said with what looked like a smile and Luna nodded at him.
After that, he took the two of them to the new training place which happened to be at his friend's place. It looked like a gym with a boxing space at first but after you go inside, the two young girls watched as he exchanged greetings with a man who looked very American.
She always thought he never had a friend just like her but she was wrong. Looking at how he's smiling even though he still carries the graciousness he always show her, she knew for a fact that. He was just as polite like that.
He spoke to the man for some minutes before heading they headed towards them again. The friend, Mr Dave took them in for a while before nodding. All the time Mr Qi watched as the girl hide behind Luna as they approached them and only seemed to relax when Luna smiled at them. She seemed to trust her a lot and this will help someday.
