Chapter 4 - 3 ~Streets No Home

"Girls this is Mr Dave. He'll be an instructer for you two whenever I'm not around. Little miss, it seems she doesn't understand so well teach her whenever you come back from school" Mr Qi said and little Luna nodded in agreement.

" Owh, Mr Qi then where did you find this little one?" He said stretching his arm to the little black girl.

" Little Miss with her following from behind" h said not wanting to discuss everything in front of the kids and Mr Dave got his signal.

" Her name?" Mr Dave asked and Mr Qi turned to look at Luna who looked between the two realizing the question was for her.

" Ummm I don't know since she doesn't say anything. Ummm ummm maybe Juan no Sophie or Lexi?" little Luna said as she scratched her head while the kid looked at her.

" So which is which little Miss?" Mr Qi asked with the patience of a still water.

" Uhm Lexi, that sounds nice" little Luna said and the girl nodded, a smile slowly playing in her lips.

" Do you like this name?" Little Luna asked as she turned to face the little black girl and the girl smiled and bobbed her head.

" Y..yes?" The little girl now named Lexi said surprising everyone.

" I don't speak good ingrish but I understand" she explained with difficulty in constructing the sentence.

" Okay she'll learn. Luna after school you help Lexi learn what you learnt over there by teaching her. For now, she'll be staying with Uncle Dave and we'll get her some clothes" said Mr Qi and Luna held Lexi with excitement.

Mr Qi took Luna back to the park where she could easily find her way back. After he waved and turned his back to her, she run back to him.

" Why did we keep Lexi?" She asked as she was curious to know About why he kept her without a word.

" Because you need a team, little miss" he said quietly with a sigh and even though Luna is young, she saw worry in his eyes. She didn't ask but he knew she noticed it.

" A team?" She asked.

" Yes a team, you're still young but you'll understand it when you grow up" he explained and she nodded before giving him a smile.

After that she made her way back to the house. When she got back, her foster mother was sitting in the luxury furnished living room with a gloomy expression. Little Luna said nothing as she made her way to the room but before she could pass by her foster mother, she was shoved back forcefully making her land on her butt.

" Where were you?" Her foster mom, Mrs Gray asked her.

" To the park, where I always play" Luna answered normally and the foster mom gave her a stern look as she raised her hand but before she could do whatever she wanted, the door opened and she quickly placed her hand back before helping Luna off the ground and giving her a look.

" Thank Goodness, Luna, you're safe. I thought you went missing or something since you don't go out often" Mr Gray said with a sigh of relief as he engulfed Luna in a warm embrace.

" I went to the park today" little Luna said knowing perfectly well that he foster father knows about her foster mothers doing. From the moment she told Luna she didn't want to see her when school ends and she had to be always back before Mr Gray.

" That's yh .. pretty good but come back nearly whenever you go to the park okay?" " Asked Mr Gray as Luna nodded her head.

" Now come with me to the library, got you some candies" he said as he gave his wife a smile which she had plastered on her face since he came back. He then led her to his study.

" What happened?" He asked.

" Nothing but I got a friend and a teacher. Lemme tell you a secret" Luna said as she leaned in and whispered in his ears for a long time. Each passing minute drawing a different expression from him.

As the days turned into weeks, Luna and Lexi continued their training with Mr. Qi. They learned new martial arts moves, practiced their senses, and explored the city together.

One day, when they were nine years old, they were training at the park when a sly-looking girl with messy brown hair snuck up behind them and snatched a sandwich from their picnic blanket.

Luna and Lexi were shocked and chased after the girl, but she was too fast. Mr. Qi, however, caught up to her easily and gently grasped her wrist.

To Luna and Lexi's surprise, Mr. Qi didn't scold the girl or punish her. Instead, he checked her pulse and looked at her with a kind expression.

"Why did you steal their food? And before that what's your name?" Mr. Qi asked the girl, who looked up at him with a mixture of fear and defiance.

The girl, who introduced herself as Ari, explained that she was hungry and didn't have any food. Mr. Qi listened attentively and then smiled.

"I'll give you food, but you have to promise me something," Mr. Qi said, his eyes twinkling.

Ari looked up at him warily, but Mr. Qi's kind expression put her at ease. "What do I have to promise?" she asked.

"You have to promise to be friends with Luna and Lexi," Mr. Qi said, his voice firm. "And you have to promise to train with us."

Ari's eyes widened in surprise, but then a slow smile spread across her face. "Deal," she said, extending her hand.

" Where do you stay then?" Luna asked.

" On the streets no home" little Ari shrugged.

Then Luna turned to look at her master who gave a sigh.

Mr. Qi smiled and shook her hand, and from that day on, Ari, or Cat C, joined Luna and Lexi on their adventures.

As they trained together, Luna, Lexi, and Ari discovered that they complemented each other perfectly. Luna was the calm and focused one, Lexi was the quiet and observant one, and Ari was the wild and unpredictable one.

Together, they formed a formidable team, and Mr. Qi was proud of their progress.
