The day had taken a strange turn, leaving Noelle restless as the sun began to set. She couldn't shake the encounter with Mikey, nor could she ignore the tangled emotions it had stirred within her.

She was flipping through an old history book about the pack when Bryan entered, his broad frame silhouetted in the doorway.
"I thought I might find you here," he said, his voice warm but laced with concern.
Noelle looked up, offering a weak smile. "I needed some quiet."
Bryan nodded, stepping closer. "I spoke with Mikey. He's still upset, but I think he's starting to see reason. It'll take time, but we'll get through this."
