A Lie to Bury the Past
The room erupted into chaos as Mikey's words settled over the crowd like a thunderclap.
"She's a rogue Omega!" he shouted, his voice trembling with anger, or perhaps fear. "And worse, she kidnapped my son when she fled the pack!"
Gasps and murmurs swept through the gathered wolves in the council chamber. Eyes turned toward Noelle, filled with suspicion and confusion.
Bryan's face darkened, and he took a step forward, placing himself protectively in front of Noelle.
"That's a serious accusation, Mikey," he growled. "You'd better have proof to back it up."
Mikey squared his shoulders, meeting Bryan's furious gaze with an air of forced confidence. "I don't need proof. Look at her! She's been hiding in plain sight all these years, passing off that child as her own.
But I know the truth. Nicole is my son's daughter—my bloodline. She stole her from me!"
