It was already late in the day; Elias, Lorcan, and Lyra made their way to this camp they found yesterday. They came across a ruin of burnt buildings. It was the city of ash that surrounded The Camp.
Gabriel: 'Fire Magic did this. It had to have been on a much higher degree than how you use the magic Elias'
Elias: 'That's what I was thinking. The soot covering these buildings is evenly spread, whatever did it covered the entire outer city scape."
They continued through the ruins until they came to a clearing. The camp was across an empty one-hundred-foot field. As Elias continued forward Lorcan pulled him back.
Elias: "What the hell Lorcan!"
Lorcan: "This is where all the sigils were. It's basically a minefield."
Elias looked closer and saw thousands of sigils everywhere on the ground in front of them.
Lyra: "We aren't getting through it so easily."
Elias: "Well why don't you just shoot them Lorcan?"
Lorcan: "Idiot, I'd run out of arrows before we get even halfway. That's if my arrows could activate them."
Elias sat and looked for a minute. He looked out onto the field then back to the ashen ruins of the city. Suddenly he got an idea.
Elias: "What if I surround myself in my fire magic and just walk through?"
Lorcan: "How would that keep the explosions from hitting you?"
Elias's smile turned to a frown, and he slouched back.
Lyra: "I have an idea. Lorcan, do you have the rope on you from the farmhouse?"
Lorcan nodded at Lyra and pulled out the large jumble of rope.
Lyra: "Wonderful! Do you think it's long enough to reach across?"
Lorcan: "I see what you're getting at and yes it should be plenty long enough."
He began unraveling the rope and tying the ends off. One end on a sturdy enough tree trunk and the other to one of his arrows. He then drew his bow and aimed it right at the wall of the camp. As he calmed himself and lined up the shot, he released the arrow. It zipped across the field and burrowed right into the wooden Fencing.
Elias: "Nice shot!"
Lorcan: "Thanks. Alright lightest first, get up there Lyra."
Lyra pulled herself up onto the rope and began crawling across. Steadily she made her way and eventually reached the other side.
Elias: "You're up Lorcan. Make it quick its creepy over here."
Lorcan began making the journey across just as Lyra. After making it, it was now Elias's turn. He pulled himself up and began crawling. He made it about halfway before the rope started giving. He began hurrying as fast as he could. He was about a foot away before it nearly snapped. Sweat started beading as one fell off his nose right onto a sigil.
Elias: "Shit."
The sigil then exploded launching him up over the fence into the camp. He stood up and his eyes widened at the site. Lorcan and Lyra rushed in but were also stopped in their tracks. The camp was littered with bodies, mutilated and dismembered.
Elias: "Who the hell did this!"
Elias gritted his teeth and clenched his fists. There was a loud banging noise coming from a building next to them. Lyra and Lorcan pulled their weapons out ready for a fight. Suddenly a frail little boy popped out.
Child: "Please… please don't hurt me..."
They almost immediately put their weapons away. Lyra approached the little boy as calmly as she could.
Lyra: "Hi there, my names Lyra. What's yours?"
Child: "Uhm... it's Emille..."
Lyra: "Wow that's a really cool name Emille. Can you tell us what happened here?"
Emille had some tears welling.
Emille: "these monsters attacked us. They burned the city and forced us into here. They said they needed us here to bring out some people."
Elias: "Hey Buddy, I'm Elias. Can you tell us what they looked like?"
The boy nodded his head.
Emille: "There were three of them. A short one covered in a bunch of spiky bones, a really tall one with a Bull head, and a red one. He's the one that burned the city."
They gave the kid a couple moments before asking him more questions.
Lorcan: "Did they say where they were going?"
Emille: "No, only that the explodey things would tell them if those people were here."
They all looked at each other then back at Emille. Their eyes grew wide before anyone could speak
Back at the Farmhouse
Kairos: "Aria, are they getting back soon? I'm fucking bored."
Aria: "I'm sure they'll be back soon. What's that sound?"
Suddenly Kairos jumped out of his seat tackling Aria out of the way. A large demon crashed through the roof of the farmhouse. It had a large bull head with Bluish gray fur and gray skin.
Kairos: "And who the fuck are you to destroy my farmhouse!"
Moloch: "Stupid human! You speak to one of Lord Leviathans demon officers. You speaking to great Moloch!"
Kairos and Moloch stared each other down. Kairos stood in front of Aria as Moloch gave a menacing glare.
Kairos: "Fuck."
