There was a faint ringing in Kairos' ears. He slowly got to his feet and started brushing off his clothes. He looked around and was horrified to see the surrounding foliage was completely blown away. The ground was ripped up and there was smoke filling the air. The skies were darkened from all the smoke and the fire made him sweat.
Kairos: "ARIA! ELIAS! ANYONE!"
He couldn't see anyone from where he was. He stumbled around coughing a bit before he heard a faint cry for help. He rushed over to see Aria on the ground. Her leg was pinned by a fallen over charred tree.
Aria: "Kairos! Help me please! My leg hurts bad!"
Kairos ran over and went to lift the tree. He quickly pulled his hands back due to how hot it was. He looked back at Aria then gritted his teeth and grabbed the tree. The heat started to burn his hands as he slowly lifted the tree off her leg. He tossed it to the side and pulled his hands in. The insides of his hands were burnt and blistered.
Aria: "I'm sorry you had to do that… Thank you Kairos."
Kairos: "Tch, don't worry about it I'll be fine. What about you though? Your leg looks burned badly."
Aria looked down to see her leg was burned and covered in bruises and cuts. Kairos leaned down to take a closer look. He put his hand out and touched it. She winced from the touch. After he finished, he stood back up.
Kairos: "Well, somehow, it's not broken but you should be easy on it. Here take this."
Kairos picked up a stick and handed it to her.
Kairos: "Use that to help with walking. It'll minimize the risk of you over straining it and it breaking."
As he helped Aria stand, he heard low growls in the distance. His vision was still obscured by the smoky air so he couldn't make it out.
Kairos: "Stay behind me Aria."
She nodded at him, and he began walking forward toward the noise. As he got closer, he suddenly realized and grabbed Aria pulling her away as a sword came crashing toward them. Then an Abyssal walked forward into view followed by several more.
Kairos: "Shit."
Kairos ran forward dodging to the side from a sword swing before punching the demon into the ground. Another Abyssal charged forward swinging its arm down as Kairos brought his arm up to meet it. Kairos then grabbed its arm and pulled it forward into his knee. Its skull crashed into his knee caving it in before it collapsed to the ground. The third demon came to Kairos with a sickle. Kairos swept its legs causing it to fall on his back. He then stomped its face into where there wasn't anything left but mush. Kairos huffed a little before walking back towards Aria.
Kairos: "Come on let's go. It's not safe here with your leg like that. More of those damned demons could show up."
Aria: "Okay."
As they walked away Kairos felt the ground shake slightly. Then he heard a familiar breathing pattern.
Moloch: "Stupid bugs. Now its Molochs turn. Strong human… You and Moloch have unfinished issue."
Kairos eyes widened after hearing the words come from Molochs mouth. He began sweating more profusely than before. Aria looked up at him with fear in her eyes. He had to think of something so he could keep Aria safe. He looked around everywhere for any place she could go. He then saw a small hole under a bunch of piled up trunks and dirt.
Kairos: "Aria, he hasn't noticed you yet. Go over there, stay in there until I come get you."
Aria: "But Kairos…"
Kairos: "Go… Now."
Aria scurried over to the hiding spot and watched Kairos and Moloch. Moloch walked toward Kairos with a noticeable irritated look.
Moloch: "Why you no answer Moloch? Got Dirt in tiny ears?"
Moloch reached out to Kairos getting ready to grab his shoulder. Just before he could touch him, Kairos jumped around and kicked Moloch right in the gut sending him flying. He crashed through several fallen over a ripped-up trees before landing. Moloch stood and brushed off the attack. He even smiled at Kairos.
Moloch: "Is that all strong human can muster? Molochs kicks can shatter mountains!"
Kairos gritted his teeth and charged towards Moloch. He spun around sending a kick down onto Moloch, but he suddenly disappeared. He then reappeared behind Kairos and sent him crashing into the ground after pounding down on him with both arms. Kairos coughed up blood after hitting the ground. Moloch grabbed Kairos by the ankle and threw him in the direction of Arias hiding spot. As moloch got closer and closer he caught the scent of Aria.
Moloch: "Oh? Small female human is here too?"
Aria tried to get as far back in her hiding spot as possible. Moloch started walking toward her exact spot before feeling a tug at his leg. Confused he looked down to see Kairos pulling at his foot.
Kairos: "Get away from her you fucker!"
Moloch picked him up by his head and looked him in the eyes.
Moloch: "Maybe Moloch was wrong. You are not strong human at all, you weakest human!"
Suddenly Kairos grabbed Molochs wrist. His grip got tighter and tighter causing moloch to let go of him. He then pulled Moloch forward as he reared his fist back and sent it flying forward right into the side of Molochs face. Moloch instinctively activated his magic as Kairos fist collided with him. Despite his magic being activated the power of the strike was, not only strong enough to harm Moloch but, also broke off one of Molochs horns. As the horn fell Kairos quickly grabbed it and drove it straight into Molochs chest. Moloch stumbled backwards with blood running down his face and chest. Moloch touched the wound then looked at his blood covered hands.
Moloch: "How? How you hurt Moloch even with Molochs magic activated?!"
Kairos: "After our first fight I guessed your magic had to do with strengthening your body turning it from normal flesh and blood to a solid boulder. I spent three months training to focus my power all into one spot. Thanks to the fact your magic spreads over your entire body I knew if I consolidated my power in one area it'd shatter like glass! Now let's stop talking, IM GONNA KICK YOUR ASS!"
Moloch put his hand on his knee and stood up. He pulled his broken horn out of his chest and cracked his knuckles.
Moloch: "It appears Moloch had another bad judge. You are strong human! So now Moloch have no reason to hold back!"
He pushed air out of his nose as if he was letting off steam. He then began to grow. He was now several feet taller than Kairos and his muscle had doubled. Kairos watched as he felt the pressure Moloch was giving off get heavier and heavier. When he stopped growing Moloch could no longer stand up straight. He looked down at Kairos and Kairos stared straight back up, both gritting their teeth and preparing for a clash at full strength.
