Chapter 43 - NAMING THE KINGDOM

In the shadowy halls of Meereen, Ramil, a seasoned spy and adept in the subtle arts of observation, received a missive from his superiors.

"Your mission in Meereen must continue. The High Seer has not awakened, but her vision of death and destruction looms heavy on us all. We need to understand the nature of Alex and Daenerys, especially their dragon. Uncover their plans, their power, and the truth of their intentions."

Ramil had already spent seven months in Meereen, quietly blending into the bustling city. What he had observed during that time left him deeply unsettled.

The dragon he had glimpsed on his arrival imposing and terrifying had now doubled in size. Ancalagon was no ordinary dragon. At over 120 feet long, his wings cast shadows that seemed to swallow entire districts.

Ramil often found himself gazing at the skies, wondering if he had strayed too close to a force that could rival even the mysteries of Asshai. "This... this is no ordinary creature. It grows at a pace unheard of in any legend."

But it wasn't just the dragon. The people of the Bay of Dragons revered Alex and Daenerys as saviors. Slaves were free, and justice was swift. Peace thrived in the region, and commerce flowed like never before.

After seven months of overseeing the stability of Dragon's Bay, Alex and Daenerys decided it was time to return to Pentos.

They entrusted the cities to Leon and Mark, leaving them in charge with explicit instructions to maintain order and uphold their laws. "You have done well," Alex told them as they stood on the docks of Meereen. "Keep this peace alive."

With their fleet prepared, Alex, Daenerys, and their family, including Ancalagon, set sail for Pentos.

In Pentos, Ser Barristan Selmy had waited patiently. For months, he had observed the transformation of the city under the rule of Alex and Daenerys. Streets were orderly, crime was minimal, and the people spoke of their rulers with respect and gratitude.

When the fleet finally arrived, Barristan joined the crowd at the docks. His heart skipped a beat as he saw the ships approach, but it was the sight of Ancalagon that left him speechless. The dragon flew low over the city, its shadow vast and foreboding. The roar that erupted from Ancalagon's throat shook the very ground, sending shivers through even the bravest hearts.

"By the gods," Barristan muttered. "I've never seen any dragons, but this is never heard off. A dragon born only a year ago grown soo big".

When the royal family disembarked, Barristan approached with purpose. Dropping to one knee before Daenerys, he said, "Your Grace, I am Ser Barristan Selmy. I was once a Kingsguard, sworn to your family. I failed your father, I failed your brother, and I failed you. I have come to repent for my mistakes and offer my sword to your service."

Daenerys looked at him, her expression thoughtful. Before she could reply, Alex spoke. "You are loyal to Daenerys, and I know your deeds in Westeros. If you pledge yourself to her, I will accept you into my army."

Alex who knew from the show, that Barristan is loyal till his death to Daenerys would not be a threat, instead he'll be assest to his army.

Barristan looked up, meeting Daenerys's gaze. "My life is yours to command, Your Grace."

Daenerys nodded. "Rise, Ser Barristan. I am not my father. I trust my king's judgement. Hope you don't disappointment me".

As the royal family made their way through Pentos, Ancalagon flew above, his massive wings beating the air with thunderous force. He roared again, a sound that echoed across the city.

The people of Pentos gazed skyward, awestruck and terrified. Many dropped to their knees, some in fear, others in reverence.

A merchant whispered to his companion, "He's grown. The last time we saw him, he was large, but now... he could darken the entire city with his shadow."

High above, Ancalagon circled, his sharp eyes surveying the city. When he landed outside the city, the ground trembled beneath his weight. His roar seemed to declare: I am here. My family is here. Pentos is ours.

The return of the royal family reinvigorated the people of Pentos. Alex and Daenerys toured the city, speaking with citizens and overseeing the continued improvements.

For Barristan, seeing their rule in action only reinforced his decision. "This is not the rule of tyrants," he thought. "This is the rule of justice."

As the sun set on Pentos, Ancalagon rested on the outskirts of the city, his eyes glowing faintly in the twilight. Alex stood nearby, his gaze thoughtful.

NEXT DAY

In the grand halls of the palace in Pentos, Alex and Daenerys sat together, discussing the future of their expanding dominion.

"Seven cities under our rule," Daenerys began, swirling wine in her goblet. "Each one liberated from tyranny. They need to know they are part of something greater now a unified realm."

Alex nodded. "We can't just call it a kingdom or empire without a name. A name gives it meaning, an identity for its people to rally behind."

Daenerys leaned forward, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "Then let's choose one. Something that represents what we've built."

She began suggesting names. "The Freehold of Fire? Or perhaps the Kingdom of Dragons?"

Alex considered the suggestions but shook his head. "Both sound powerful, but they limit us. We are more than just dragons or fire. We've built something united, something that transcends borders and history."

"Then what do you suggest?" Daenerys asked, curious.

Alex paused for a moment, a memory stirring from his previous life. "There's a name that i remembered from the place where i come from, I once knew. It represented strength, unity, and dominion over vast realms. It was called... The Imperium."

Daenerys tilted her head, repeating the name softly. "The Imperium…" A smile spread across her face. "I like it. It's commanding, powerful, and unlike anything this world has ever heard before."

"But let's make it our own," Alex added. "We'll call it The Emperium. Our seven cities will unite under this banner, and the world will know they are part of something greater."

Daenerys stood, her excitement contagious. "Then it's settled. From this day forward, our Kingdom will be known as The Emperium. And the seven cities Pentos, Volantis, Astapor, Yunkai, Meereen, Myr, and Tyrosh will be its first cities".

Alex summoned Raven to the council chambers the next morning. Raven arrived promptly, his usual composed demeanor giving way to curiosity.

"You summoned me, my king?" Raven asked, bowing slightly.

Alex gestured for him to rise. "Yes. We have made a decision about the future of our rule. The seven cities we have liberated will no longer stand alone. From this day forward, they will be united under a single name: The Emperium."

Raven's eyes widened slightly. "The Emperium... It has a commanding presence, my king. A name that will strike fear and awe alike."

Daenerys stepped forward, her voice firm and resolute. "Raven, we need you to send a message to all the cities under our control. Tell them of this new name, and assure them that under the Emperium, they will find peace, prosperity, and protection."

Raven bowed deeply. "Consider it done, Your Grace."

Messages were dispatched to all corners of the Emperium. In Volantis, banners bearing the sigil of Alex and Daenerys the three-headed dragon and the phoenix were raised above the city gates.

In Astapor, the once-oppressed slaves gathered in the square as the proclamation was read aloud:

"From this day forth, the seven cities of Pentos, Volantis, Astapor, Yunkai, Meereen, Myr, and Tyrosh shall stand united under the banner of The Emperium. Our rulers, Alex and Daenerys, shall bring prosperity, justice, and strength to these lands."

In Yunkai and Meereen, the people cheered. The new rulers had already brought stability and progress. The promise of unity only solidified their loyalty.

Back in Pentos, Alex stood on the palace balcony, overlooking the city.

Daenerys joined him, placing a hand on his arm. "The people are already embracing the name," she said. "It's a new beginning for them."

Alex nodded, a determined look in his eyes. "This is just the start. The Emperium will grow, and with it, the ideals we've built it on freedom, unity, and strength. No tyrant, no slaver, no oppressor will stand against us."

Daenerys smiled, her gaze fixed on the horizon.

The dining hall of the Pentosian palace was bathed in the warm glow of candlelight. Alex and Daenerys sat at the head of the grand table, sharing a quiet dinner together. The day had been monumental; the naming of the Emperium marked the dawn of a new era, and the weight of their shared accomplishments filled the air.

Daenerys raised her goblet, her eyes shimmering in the soft light. "To us," she said softly, her voice carrying both pride and tenderness. "To the Emperium and everything we've built together."

Alex clinked his goblet against hers, his gaze steady and warm. "To us," he echoed, a smile playing at his lips. "And to the future we'll carve out for our people."

The dinner was simple yet intimate, a moment of respite amidst the chaos of their responsibilities. They laughed, shared memories of the past year, and spoke of their dreams for the future.

Later that evening, as the palace settled into quiet, Alex and Daenerys found themselves alone in the royal chambers. The room was adorned with silken drapes and glowing embers in the fireplace, casting a golden hue over the space.

Daenerys stood by the window, gazing out at the city bathed in moonlight. "It's hard to believe how much has changed in just over a year," she murmured. "From where we started... to this."

Alex approached her, his steps soft against the stone floor. "It's not just the cities or the titles," he said, standing beside her.

She turned to face him, her silver hair catching the light. "And it's only the beginning," she whispered.

Alex reached out, gently brushing a strand of hair from her face.

Their eyes met, a shared understanding passing between them. Slowly, Alex leaned in, his lips meeting hers in a tender kiss. The world outside seemed to fade away as they were drawn into each other's embrace.

Daenerys's hands found their way to his shoulders, pulling him closer as the kiss deepened. Alex's arms wrapped around her waist, holding her as if she were the most precious thing in the world.

They moved toward the bed, their movements unhurried and filled with trust and lust. The night became a tapestry of whispered words, a lot of sweat and heavy breathing and the gentle warmth of their connection.

For the first time in over a year of partnership, they allowed themselves to be vulnerable, to fully express the depth of their feelings for one another.

As dawn broke, the first rays of sunlight filtered through the curtains. They both lay naked under the bedsheets, Alex woke to find Daenerys resting peacefully beside him, her head on his chest and her silver hair spilling over the sheets.

He smiled, pressing a light kiss to her forehead. She stirred, her violet eyes fluttering open to meet his.

"Good morning," she said softly, her voice still laced with sleep.

"Good morning," Alex replied, his tone warm. "Last night was..."

She smiled, interrupting him. "Perfect."

"Yes, it was. Maybe you wanna...do it again?" Asked Alex

"Hmmm..."

Alex didn't give any her time after that and started kissing her soft lips. And that whole day they just spent it bed.
