It had been a long time since he made the contract with Arzatious,
During this time he also learned something about Arzatious,
'He's so carefree and chill, i wonder why is he an eternal ?'
Arzatious was dipping his legs in the river, and gazing at the stars, when he suddenly disappeared,
'Where did he g-' Azure tried to think, but Arzatious Interrupted, "I've told you so many times, dear~~ I can read your thoughts! So how about you just ask me directly instead of plotting behind my back? Makes things so much easier, don't you think~ ?"
"Actually… yeah so why did you become an eternal?" Azure asked.
Arzatious replied with a mischievous grin, "What do you think is an eternal~~ ?"
"A powerful being, that has more Ryu than any living being and is immortal." Azure replied.
"The answer's there~~" Arzatious continued with a flick "Immortality~ is the reason why i became an eternal, now~ now~~ is your curiosity satisfied ?"
"But why did you want to become immortal ?" Azure asked with even more curiosity.
"Isn't the answer simple, my dear~~ I wasn't satisfied with the human life-span, i couldn't experience 'life' properly, i figured that no matter how much i explore, there will always be more~"
Arzatious flashed a carefree grin and said cheerfully, "So I thought~, 'if I'm immortal, then I've got infinite time to explore this infinite world, right?~~ Sounds like the perfect deal to me!'"
Arzatious tilted his head with a playful grin and said, "Now then~, does that satisfy your endless curiosity, my dear?"
Azure was kind of happy from this answer, so he asked Arzatious,
"Do all the other eternals also have similar goals?"
Arzatious chuckled brightly and waved his hand dismissively, "Oh no~~ most of them are just delightfully insane humans or hilariously brain-dead animals! Quite the characters, don't you think?"
'It's the perfect oppurtin-' Azure began to think, but Arzatious cut in with a bright, teasing laugh, "Oh, come now, dear! Use those lips of yours~ not just that busy little mind of yours~!"
"Uhh, okay, do you know the eternal at the Dukedom of Valdore?" Azure said with a hint of frustration yet calmness.
Arzatious paused for a moment, rubbing his chin theatrically, "Valdore, you say? Hmm~~ nope! Doesn't ring a bell! Quite peculiar if you ask me, considering I usually have such a stellar memory~!" He then winked, his golden eyes gleaming with mischief. "But perhaps they were just too boring to leave an impression, hmm~?"
Azure frowned. "You're saying you don't know them? What kind of eternal are you?"
Arzatious shrugged dramatically, with a joyful smile. "The fabulous kind, of course~~! Now, if you're curious about this 'Valdore Eternal,' I suppose we could look into it~. Adventure calls, doesn't it, dear Azure?"
Azure tilted his head, studying him. "You're awfully relaxed about not knowing something."
"Ah, but that's the secret to happiness, my dear~" Arzatious leaned back with a carefree grin. "When you live forever, you learn that knowing everything ruins all the fun. Life should have its mysteries! Otherwise, what's the point of exploring?"
Azure sighed, though a small smile crept onto his face. "I guess that makes sense. But if this Eternal turns out to be some kind of problem, you better help me."
"Help you? Oh, darling~~ I'll do more than that!" Arzatious smirked mischievously. "I'll bring popcorn and commentary while you handle the serious stuff~!"
Azure rolled his eyes, muttering, "Why am I not surprised…"
Arzatious clapped his hands together. "Well then~, let's set our sights on Valdore and its mysterious Eternal! Maybe I'll get to meet someone almost as dazzling as myself—though I doubt it~."
Azure chuckled despite himself. "With an ego like yours, I'm surprised the world doesn't revolve around you."
Arzatious grinned brightly. "Oh, it does, my dear~! It absolutely does. You're just too humble to notice!" He threw an arm over Azure's shoulder, gesturing dramatically toward the horizon. "Now, onwards to adventure! Or chaos. Either works for me~!"
And with that, the two began their journey under the starlit sky, Arzatious's endless cheer punctuated by Azure's occasional exasperation and reluctant smiles.
