Chapter 1: A Strange App.
' it's that time of year again...' said a young man to himself, He stood outside a convenience store with grocery bags in hand while staring at the sunset sky with misty eyes, his body emitting an air of sadness and loss.
The young man in question wore a simple looking red headphone that was connected to his smartphone which he held in his hand, A black top with the word's Grim Lord designed on it, A black rugged jean and a pair of worn out sneakers.
The boy in particular, Looked to be about 15 year's of age with black scruffy hair, crimson eyes, a lean physique, 1.7 meters in height, glistening skin and a pale complexion. His appearance was not much different than most handsome boys, Although with the exception of his noticably pale skin.

'.....Let's just get this over with, The sooner this day ends the better' He let out a breath, a sigh escaping his mouth. He took a deep breath before leaving the convenience store, Heading down the pathway.
The boys name was Lin Mu, A middle school graduate who was getting ready for his Highschool entrance exams to Tian Jiang Academy, yet the reason for his lingering depression also had something to do with this entrance exam of his.
To be able to grasp the problem, One must first understand the reason for his lack of enthusiasm, Which was actually because unlike the average world, The Earth Lin Mu was born in was a world filled with all type of supernatural beings. Where simple cats could grow as big as lions, ordinary plants could become man eating monster's and even innocent little birds could become vicious beasts in the skies.
In the blink of an eye, 90% of the worlds geographical areas, both Earth, and Sea, were lost to the beast's.
Fortunately for the people of Earth the emergence of these strange phenomenons one thousand years ago, also came the appearance of Hero's.
Everyone on Earth became Super Human individuals blessed with rare mutant cells that granted them several different abilities of all kinds, Whether flight, elemental abilities, Super Human strength, Transformation, Speed and several others, They had all became a normal occurrence around the globe.
There wasn't a single corner of the Earth that wasn't filled with newfound wonders and spectacular sceneries, Yet like the usual norm of life where the strong stood above the weak, Not everyone was blessed by the heavens with strong mutant abilities, There was a clear distinction between the strong and the weak, But in Lin Mu case he had it even more worse than most due to the fact that he had no shred of mutant cells in his body, Which in turn meant that he had no abilities whatsoever.

While walking and listening to the songs playing on his headphones, A bulky figure's shoulder brushed against Lin Mu as he walked past, knocking him down on the pavement.
"Hey dickhead!, ever thought about signaling when you're about to merge lanes?!". Lin Mu winced in pain having fallen to the ground, Unfortunately his assailant didn't seem to care whether he was hurt or not.
" Hey watch were you going squirt " The man grabbed him by his collar in a split moment, With his superior physique and speed, Lin Mu didn't have anytime to react before the man easily lifted him off the ground.
' Not this again..., This is the 3rd time today.' Lin Mu glared at the ugly, bald headed white man who looked like the combination of a beef and a pig before him.
"I would've watched where I'm going, but it's kinda hard when the sun keeps reflecting off your forehead like some shitty solar flare." He felt irritated yet helpless while being assaulted by pain, Today was the one day he could honour the departure of his late grandfather so it was within reason that he would be frustrated after having been interrupted time and time again.
" Arck...." Lin Mu wanted to say something but only chocking sounds were heard when the man suddenly tightened his grip on his collar like a vicious serpent.
" Did you just insult me brat."
" Why I otta...., Hold up, Your that freak aren't you! " The man's eyes widened with realization.
" Wow.., three whole seconds, that's gotta be a personal best for figuring it out." Lin Mu struggled to say.
The man was originally about to let out a series of curses the next moment only for him to throw Lin Mu away with widened eyes when he realized just who it was he had grabbed.
Due to his superhuman strength, The man's simple throw flung Lin Mu 2 meters away before he crashed roughly onto the pavement.
The sudden commotion attracted the attention of the passerbys.
" Crap, looks like someone's managed to anger Mister Fang again"
" That strength type hooligan?!, What kind of idiot would be foolish enough to mess with that hot head " Normally they would be referring to the man as a foreigner since he looked like a purebred westerner, but, after the beast calamity that took over 90% of the Earth's surface several centuries ago, all human races on earth were forced to live together in several different, far smaller nations. Though a few races who formed individual organizations were an exemption to this rule.
" Wait?, it's that Kid surnamed Lin!" When they saw Lin Mu's face, they turned a blind eye to it, not bothering to lend him a helping hand.
" You're kidding me, you mean that cursed brat?, The one without any abilities? "
" Just ignore him, Who knows if his curse would spread to us if we interfered"
" Definitely, My son's got a bright future, He's even planning on taking the entrance exam at TAS( Tianjin Academy for Superhumans). How will i enjoy the fruit of my labors if am cursed?"
" Gee...thanks guys, the moral support is overwhelming." Lin Mu groaned while trying to move his body, his eyes twitching a bit due to the pain.
From the looks of it, Even Mister Fang was a bit apprehensive when he learned who Lin Mu actually was. " Useless Brat!, I was planning on f*cking you up but your life's already f*cked up as it is" Mister Fang sneered at Lin Mu. He gave him one satisfactory kick that caused Lin Mu to groan in pain before leaving.
" Great..., I love being treated as today's garbage. Jokes on you arsehole but I'm biodegradable...." He yelled at the retreating man while waving his middle finger at him.
' Damned Bastard...'
Lin Mu who was still laying silently on the floor gnashed his teeth and clenched his palms. Most would think of it as something normal but, being born as the only one among the countless, billion humans on earth without an ability like the rest was a life worse than anything one could imagine.
Ever since he could remember, he had always been the target of stigmatisation and hatred. Wherever he went, people would always mock and look down on him all because of this single difference.
He couldn't remember a time when anyone had ever treated him as a human being, Not once ever since his beloved grandfather died and passed on. As an orphan, Lin Mu didn't know his birth parents, it was his dear late grandfather that had always been there for him, even when everyone else saw him as nothing but an abomination and a nuisance, that same frail old man had taken everything he had to care for him, Although he was plagued with a treacherous illness, His grandfather never failed to make sure he felt like a normal human being.
Lin Mu stared at the groceries and offerings he'd bought for his grandfather's honouring with misty eyes that quickly moistened till he began to shed reluctant tears while bitting his lower lip which was already bloody with indignation.
He gnashed his teeth when he recalled how the man had harassed him for no apparent reason, however what truly infuriated him was that no one had even come up to stand up for him. They had all just ignored him.
Just when it seemed like his teeth were about to crack from clenching too hard, Lin Mu's phone which was Infront of him vibrated and a strange notification appeared on his screen.
[Your cry of anguish has been heard, The Cosmos has deemed your fate a truly tragic one and wishes to rectify such]
[But that depends on whether you would you like to seek redemption?]
[Yes/No]
" Great...even the so called Cosmos is pitying me now, does everyone really wanna jab at me today." Lin Mu couldn't understand how such a message would emerge in a timely manner. He thought it was an obvious scam, yet he found himself, Still on the floor, Reaching with his finger to click yes out of curiosity.
After he clicked yes a new series of notifications appeared on his phone.

" The Null God Cultivation System?. Sounds like something a 12 year old came up with for an online username..., what's next?, I level up by brooding and listing to hard Rock?." Lin Mu tried to hold back his laughter.
" Well at least it's something better than getting sumo slammed by life every other day." Lin Mu remarked when a thought suddenly came to his mind as he realized something.
