The young man looked around the room trying to find a way out, but it was impossible, the only possible way out was the door that led to the other sectors.
'I have to go out the door...' thought the young man.
The option of putting on the knight's suit was not valid, after all they could see his face and know that he was not the same. The young man, having no other option, began to stretch to shoot out the door.
The escape mission was practically impossible, he would need a miracle to get out of prison and an even bigger one to get out of the city.
'What does it matter, I'm going to die anyway' he thought, little by little he began to regain the desire to stay alive.
The young man looked confidently towards the door and began to leave in its direction.
In the second sector only screams of pain could be heard, nothing strange to what happened day after day, until suddenly a loud bang came from the door that connected to the last sector.
The torturers quickly turned their gaze towards the place, the young man was running at high speed to the door of the first sector.
The young prisoner did not care about the knights, he could defeat them, the real problem was when the enlightened ones took part in the fight.
"He's escaping!" shouted one of the torturers desperately, but something happened that the young man had not expected.
After the torturer's shout, the prisoners got excited trying to support the young man... they grabbed, hit and even blocked them, for some strange reason the prisoners wanted him to escape.
The young man without thinking too much, hit the door of the first sector again, this time there were knights guarding it, but when they were caught by surprise the young man ran without looking back.
"Run young man!" "Escape, you can!"
The prisoners shouted as they watched him try to escape, some even seemed more desperate than the young man himself.
The knights chased the young man in vain, they couldn't catch him, but now there was the last door, this one connected to the outside but that only made things more complicated.
"Cover the door!" shouted one of the knights chasing the young man.
The knights were normal humans who could not reach enlightenment and because they were nobility they took part of the imperial knights, normally middle-aged men who had not achieved anything in life but were lucky enough to be born into a rich family.
After hearing the shout, the door of the first sector opened and a few knights looked out to see what was happening. But before they could know what was happening, the face of one of the knights was trampled.
"Catch him..." shouted tiredly one of the knights chasing the young man, due to his extremely full body he could not hold on running any longer.
The exit from the prison had a large number of stairs that connected to the main avenue, the young man began to jump over them wide to escape.
The escape was relatively easy, but why didn't the other prisoners try?
The reasons were simple, they weren't strong enough to defeat the knights, they were afraid of the enlightened ones and they were threatened with the lives of their relatives, after all the only ones who went to prison were the poor.
But the young man didn't care about any of that.
As the young prisoner quickly descended the stairs, the citizens looked in his direction in surprise and suddenly an amplified voice accompanied by an alarm resounded throughout the place:
"Attention, the prisoner Safwane has escaped from prison... Attention, the prisoner Safwane has escaped from prison..."
The name of the prisoner was enough to create a fuss among the citizens, who ran desperately while screaming or crying, after all they thought that a high-level nightmare had escaped.
While Safwane continued running through all the fuss along the avenue towards the enormous door that led to the dark outskirts of the city.
But of course it was not going to be so easy, some enlightened ones had arrived at the avenue and began to try to stop the young man.
A young woman shot magic arrows towards Safwane, the young man dodged trying not to waste time, the enormous door was closing.
The siege of arrows was continuous, Safwane not fully focused on the defense, finally receiving an arrow in the side.
Safwane grimaced in pain.
But he still kept running, he was close to leaving the city, he could not stop now.
And near the door something fell hard to the ground, after the cloud of dust that the fall had generated, a large figure formed among the shadows.
When he finally showed himself, a man of more than two meters and a muscular body attacked Safwane with a huge axe.
The big man launched a powerful horizontal cut that Safwane was able to dodge by ducking, but an arrow hit his calf. In pain, the young man placed his hand tightly on the man's elbow, preventing him from attacking again without changing the axe arm.
In that span of seconds, Safwane ran without caring about the wounds and the blow that was going to come to him from behind by the man.
But, Safwane was surrounded by attacks.
The arrows that had stopped a moment ago, headed towards him in an immense quantity, the man had changed the axe hand and launched a strong vertical attack towards his back.
In addition, a weak-looking young man was in front of him while directing a cut with a poisonous dagger towards his leg, the escape had failed and his death was imminent.
"Stop"
The voice was weak and calm but it was heard all over the place, everything had stopped, the arrows and the attacks of the two men, they were struggling to move, but they were unable.
For some reason, Safwane could move and he took advantage of it to leave the city through the small gap that the door had left, the young man had left the city.
As they ran through the outskirts without a destination, doubts flooded his mind.
'What happened?' he asked himself as he ran through the pain he was in.
When Safwane was passing through the door, he could see a hooded man on the roof of a house, he was not sure but there was something that told him that he was the reason.
'Why would he have helped me? I don't know anyone who can help me...' between the young man's thoughts and the deceptive silence of the outskirts, the huge city gate opened again, allowing the enlightened ones to pursue him.
Safwane clicked his tongue.
He tried to run faster even though the pain was becoming more noticeable, the wound in his side could bear it but the arrow in his calf was affecting him.
Even though Safwane ran desperately, the enlightened ones were getting closer and closer and the young man could not hold out any longer.
He had been months without eating properly and receiving torture, today his chest had been burned with hot metal and he had received wounds while escaping, Safwane was on the verge of falling unconscious.
The more he forced himself to escape the more blood he lost, his vision became increasingly blurry.
The enlightened ones launched their attack again, the young woman again launched hundreds of arrows that this time were going to hit the young man completely.
Safwane could not do anything else, he had already lost consciousness and was slowly falling to the ground.
The arrows were going to kill him.
When Safwane fell to the ground defeated, he did not touch something solid but something rather liquid.
The arrows hit the ground without hitting anything.
"And now how did he escape!?" the young woman screamed desperately.
The corpulent man had a doubt apparent on his face as he observed the place where Safwane had disappeared.
'How could he have disappeared? ...However he did it, someone from within the empire helped him escape.' the man thought as he turned around.
"Let's go, if we take too long it will get dark and we will have to fight against nightmares" said the man clenching his fists.
On the other hand, Safwane was falling through what seemed like a dark and deep black ocean. He slowly began to open his eyes.
After a few seconds, the young man realized that he was in a deep ocean and began to swim desperately upwards, but it was useless, the young man had swum for minutes but it seemed that he had not even moved.
Safwane was running out of air and the dark water began to enter his lungs.
"This is how you should die, you dirty nightmare..." said a voice in the immense darkness. Safwane began to look for where the voice came from.
"Did you think that after killing us we would let you go?" it said again, this time a different voice.
Strange figures began to emerge from the darkness, they were human but they took on impossible shapes, as if they were nightmares themselves.
The closer they came, the more Safwane could tell who they were, the villagers he had killed.
The young man could not move or rather they did not let him move, the frightening figures held him by the legs, hands, face... In addition to the strange murmurs that they said in an incomprehensible language.
There were stories that said that if a human took enough resentment towards someone, this could become a nightmare after his death, the villagers seemed to have become one and sought revenge.
The macabre smiles and the long claws that slowly pierced Safwane's skin, but when the young man looked at his surroundings...
Everything that seemed to have been an ocean was actually infinite nightmares that desperately tried to reach him, a mountain was formed with Safwane at the top being slowly consumed.
The young man was slowly losing the use of reason, he felt the darkness taking over his insides.
'Is this really how I'm going to end up?' Safwane asked himself as more nightmares tried to reach him.
After a few seconds, the nightmares had covered his entire body, the only visible thing left were his red eyes, the reason for everything that had happened to him since he was born.
Safwane was about to lose himself in the darkness.
"...Wake up"
