The sand beneath the young man's feet rose and fell more and more, something was getting closer. Safwane looked down and could see a huge energy directing its teeth towards him.
The young man quickly left the area of the nightmare's attack, a few seconds later a huge worm shot out of the ground.
The nightmare was huge, from what it was showing above the ground it seemed to measure more than ten meters, and the young man immediately knew that the nightmare was also guided by echolocation.
'Is that how you receive me?'
The creature submerged itself in the sand again, tranquility became part of the desert again, the seconds passed but the nightmare did not attack.
The reason was that Safwane was still, without moving, he could not generate vibrations causing the nightmare to lose track of him. But the young man could not stay still forever.
After thinking deeply, taking advantage of the deceptive calm, the young man decided to generate vibrations in another place.
Safwane picked up stones that were on the desert ground and constantly threw them a few meters in front of him.
The tremors began again.
The young man waited for the moment when it would come out, but his plan failed. When he looked down again, he noticed how the enormous worm was heading towards him.
What Safwane didn't know was that the nightmare made the ground tremble to detect the precise location of its prey, since due to the tremors, the young man's body reacted accordingly.
The nightmare came out of the sand again with its enormous mouth full of sharp fangs open. The young man dodged slightly and, taking advantage of the proximity, stabbed his katana into the rough skin of the worm.
An unpleasant cry of pain filled the silent place.
The creature quickly slid through the sand trying to get the young man off of it.
"Stay still..." Safwane stammered angrily.
And as if the nightmare had heard the words, it went back into the depths of the sand. The young man looked at himself in surprise.
'Have I achieved a singularity?' he thought while looking at his hands.
But without any respite, the tremor came back much stronger. The young man looked down again to detect the nightmare.
'Why is this happening to me...' he thought while he watched unmotivated.
This time the presence of the previous nightmare was not the only one, the worm had attracted him to its nest and a dozen enormous worms were going to come out of the depths.
In addition, Safwane had lost his katana, which was hooked to the worm's skin.
Finally the worms came to the surface as if they were enormous towers, these blocked the sunlight leaving the young man in the center of them.
This time Safwane could not use the tactic of staying still either since the worm's blood had lightly splashed his face.
After a few short seconds that felt like an eternity, the worms launched their huge mouths towards the young man.
Safwane took a long step back, escaping the attack of the nightmares, now he was in front of a worm and stabbed the sheath of the katana into it.
After doing that, the worm became agitated, colliding with the other nightmares, the young man climbed while stabbing the sheath constantly, thanks to the large body of the nightmare he could stab it without being affected much by the movements of pain of the worm.
Safwane climbed to a considerable height, and while the other worms subdued the painful creature, the young man tried to locate his katana.
Because the young man did not have a singularity, the katana had no remains of energy that he could detect, so Safwane searched for the energy that flowed out of the body of the worm, its blood, since there was only one wounded apart from the one he was on, it was the only one that could have blood.
After a short search he found it, taking advantage of the fact that they had subdued the worm, he launched himself towards another one that was relatively close, this time using the altered movements as momentum to go towards his katana.
And so he finally arrived, and instead of taking it out he hit the handle strongly to pierce the worm even more. After that he took it out between the movements of the nightmare.
This time he fell to the ground and rolled backwards to get away from a bite from a worm. And he stuck the katana again this time in the hole of his nose, the young man using all the strength possible pushed the katana down, making a deep cut to the nightmare.
'It's impossible for me to win...' thought Safwane dodging the attack of another worm again.
The nightmares turned their attention to the young man, they seemed annoyed that a small prey was causing them too many problems.
But the worms were not the only nightmares living in this desert. The fight seemed to have reached the ears of a dark and enormous three-meter scorpion, which slowly approached the young man trying to camouflage itself under the ground.
The worms generated small vibrations with their hoarse growl, as if they were guiding something.
And it certainly was, underground a worm moved stealthily towards the young man.
'If Ilkay had not taught me how to detect energies I would have been dead a long time ago...' he thought, grateful for what his teacher was.
The worm launched itself towards Safwane, this time without generating any tremor, the young man waited until the nightmare was about to come out.
When it came out, with the palm of his hand he grabbed the edge of the worm's enormous mouth, using the momentum he did a backflip, where the scorpion attacked with its poisonous stinger.
Safwane placed the katana making the stinger slide, which ended up penetrating the worm's skin. The young man was behind the scorpion and with a horizontal cut he separated its tail from its body.
"Two less," said the young man imposingly to the remaining worms.
Meanwhile, the scorpion staggered away, which, like the poisoned worm, had minutes to live. Safwane held the long tail with the stinger in his other hand.
Now the young man took the initiative in the battle.
With quick movements he headed towards the remaining creatures, the worms attacked accordingly, but their large size was detrimental to them when fighting in a group.
Safwane dodged the bite of the worm that attacked first and stuck his katana into the thick skin of the creature to be able to get away from the fangs of the other worm, which, using the long tail, penetrated the skin with the stinger, poisoning it.
The young man took out the katana and, grabbing the scorpion's tail, jumped from one worm to the other, regaining the use of his new weapon.
Due to the incredible size of the scorpion, its venom was powerful enough to kill the worms, but its use was not unlimited and there were still several worms left.
While the young man was thinking about how to continue the attack, the sun began to descend, causing the worms to go deeper into the sand.
'Has it been so long?' Safwane asked himself as he sat exhausted on the dead worm.
The young man was sweating excessively due to the extreme heat in which he had been fighting, between exhaustion he placed the katana in its sheath and jumped off the worm.
"I'm hungry" Safwane muttered as he walked towards the body of the worm that had previously died being subdued by the others.
After arriving, he sat on the ground in front of the body of the worm, Safwane separated the stinger from the tail and opened it in half. His intention was to light a fire with the sparks from the rocks on the half that did not contain poison.
But in the process he could notice something, when he opened the stinger some drops of poison splashed his clothing, but the suit absorbed it. As far as the young man knew the katana did the same thing...
'Could the katana be poisoned?' he asked himself as he unsheathed it.
The young man immersed the blade of the katana for a few seconds, the poison was diminishing, after noticing that he took it out and the katana began to let out steam.
The young man stood up and went back to the body of the poisoned worm, after making a cut with the katana nothing seemed to have happened at first glance, but Safwane could see it.
The young man noticed how poison spread through the body of the dead worm.
Safwane smiled.
The young man walked towards the worm that was not poisoned again, although he wanted to know if this was going to be temporary or permanent, he did not want to lose this advantage in case it was temporary by testing.
After sitting in front of the worm again, the young man sheathed his katana and stood still without doing anything.
Safwane placed his hand on his forehead while clenching his teeth.
"How am I supposed to cut the meat now!" the young man shouted angrily.
Between the young man's desperate scream, it finally became night and the earth beneath him trembled.
'I don't feel anything...' the young man thought as he observed the situation.
Once again the crack surprised Safwane, from the desolate desert a beautiful green grass and beautiful flowers began to appear, trees grew out of nowhere as if by magic.
The young man was now sitting on a beautiful meadow, as if he had never been in a desert before.
The gentle breeze pushed pure, clean air towards Safwane, and the young man felt a great sense of tranquility as he looked at the place.
Although the only thing that illuminated the place was the weak light of the moon, there were fireflies dancing around the place, making the place peaceful and somewhat illuminated.
Not only were there fireflies, but butterflies could also be seen and crickets could be heard, the place was filled with peace.
Among the young man's thoughts, a red butterfly approached him with its weak fluttering that made it go up and down. Finally, it reached Safwane's position, trying to place itself on his arm.
Feeling the tranquility of the place, the young man took off his blindfold to see the butterfly.
Safwane's movement after removing the bandage was a quick slash with his katana.
The butterflies had heads shaped like humans.
