Synopsis

The Shattering

[The information provided will be gradually introduced throughout the story. This chapter can serve as a means of knowledge. As such, it may contain minor spoilers.]

◇Shattered Realm

Shattered Realm is the vast continent where, in ancient times, humans thrived. Since the Nightmares returned, the continent has been shattered and corrupted. Now, humans can only survive in the Solmara Empire, the last stronghold able to resist the incursions of these dark beings.

A place of constant struggle, where darkness not only fills the sky but also dwells in the depths of the earth.

◇The Six Clans

In these clans there are only the most powerful enlightened ones who refuse to be under the command of the Empire, the influence of these clans serves as hope and terror.

◇The Nightmares

Known as demons in many cultures, the Nightmares are supernatural entities that feed on terror. Their power increases as they feed on the despair of their victims. As their power grows, they become more rational and dangerous.

It is said that, in the beginning, they were mere shadows without consciousness. Today, they are an empire of terror threatening to consume everything.

◇The Enlightened

A small group of humans, known as the Enlightened, have developed unique abilities called Singularities, which allow them to fight the Nightmares. These individuals are extremely valuable and possess extraordinary abilities that make them humanity's last line of defense against evil.

Though few, their power is the only hope in a world that fades into shadows.

◇Singularities

Singularities are special powers that the Enlightened acquire through a mystical connection with the soul. These abilities are unique to each individual and originate from their own genius. When a human reaches Enlightenment, they can unlock a singularity that sets them apart from others.

◇The Rifts

The Rifts are dimensional fissures opened by the Divine Beasts, enormous and powerful entities that seek to destroy what remains of humanity. These cracks act as portals to a chaotic world, a battlefield where the Enlightened fight to prevent the invasion.

Only the bravest venture into the cracks, facing indescribable horrors in search of a greater purpose.

◇Domains

Each crack encompasses a domain, enormous regions within these portals controlled by a Divine Beast. Each domain has unique characteristics and deadly dangers depending on the creature that controls it.

—Common Terms:

◇Portals

The Portals are the exits of the rifts once they have been closed or conquered by the Enlightened. For many, they represent the return to a world still fighting for survival.

◇Fragments

Within the Domains, the Enlightened can find Fragments, powerful artifacts that grant new abilities, weapons, or even information about future events that could change the course of the war.

Some Fragments are said to contain the memories of the Divine Beasts, but few have been able to unlock their true power.

◇Spirit Seed

Spirit Seeds are the core of nightmares, enlightened ones gain power by consuming them, but these are only present in nightmares that inhabit rifts, because divine beasts share their energy making nightmares more powerful. If the spirit seed is more powerful than the enlightened one's internal energy it could end up ending his life.

◇Internal Energy

This is the resource available to the enlightened, only in the rifts. This energy supplements the basic healing function and restores strength. The more internal energy you have, the more effective the recovery will be.

◇Ranks of the Enlightened

The ranks are divided by the strength and mastery of the singularities:

•Awakened

•Masters

•Avatars

•Superiors

•Transcended

•Ecliptics

◇Ranks of the Nightmares

Unlike the enlightened who seek self-understanding, nightmares grow through death and chaos, the more they kill, the higher they will rise:

•Shadows

•Specter

•Corrupted

•Eternals

•Nameless

•Primordials

The more powerful the nightmares are, the more intelligence they possess, some even can speak.
