Chapter 31 - Tricksters

After checking her Lab another time round Max found no other scents to help him in his search for Lily and Wade. Walking back to his office trying to mind link Wade, but coming back with a black void. His connection with Lily was still there giving him some comfort. Opening the door he found his Gamma, and Wade's twin sister, Jade waiting for him as well as her assistant Lynn.

Lynn had a minor degree in botany giving him an opportunity and some peace of mind. She was willing to work with Lily having done so before on other work here in the Palace. They both looked to Max waiting for instructions, "Has there been any news on how they got in here? We need to head out and find her now while we can. There are tire marks that lead away but stop at the road as if it disappeared. Are there any artifacts unaccounted for?"

Jade beings saying, "None that we know of. I have called a couple friends and they are checking with their superiors discreetly. You didn't see any tire marks on the road from dirt?" Thinking back he didn't see any dirt on the road which was strange, unless. "They flew! F*ck! That's why we can't find them!" he shouted slamming his fists on the desk. "Sir, please calm down. We will get her back, but you need to watch yourself. Some might think your...." Jade said then leaned in closer staring at his neck, "Your kidding me?! Its her! I always wondered about you two. I mean, you always seem to work well together, and she always seem to go the extra mile for you. No wonder.....Oh shit, who else knows?!"

"No one except Wade and he was taken too. I need to go and speak with some one. Stay on there trail, if they had to fly they had to have clearance. Find out who had passes. I'll be back soon," he said heading for the front doors. Grabbing his keys almost reaching the doors when his father walks up a confused look on his face, "Son what is happening? Your Gamma wouldn't answer me when I inquired with her."

"Lily and Wade have gone missing. Her Lab was torn up and the back door was broke down. I've got a lead so I am heading out now. Hopefully I am only a couple steps behind them," he said heading out the door with his father hot on his tail. "Don't you think your being to over dramatic? How do you know they didn't have some relationship together? She kept to herself and Wade wouldn't want to put her on the spot with everyone," he said trying to sound reasonable, but only pissing Max off more with every word he said.

"There links are blocked to me! This isn't some fit I'm throwing to get attention, Father! Someone broke into the Palace and took two of our subjects with out a trace and that's your response to it?! Get out of my way! I have my people to find," Max said storming out of his office. Heading to his own office he kept thinking of possible Clans that would take her just on her merits. Hopefully that would give him a better lead.

----------------------------------------

Sitting and waiting for someone to either rescue her or that dragon prince to actually keep his word was driving Lily crazy. Having laid on the bed for a while she tried to ignore her stomach and its persistent growling. Lily wondered what actually happened to her birth family and why she took on a different form then normal. She only remembered flashes and feelings from her childhood, but it had been so long ago now that it was hard to remember much.

The last thing she could remember was tripping after her mother told her to run. The people she ran into weren't from her pack and when asked how she got there she didn't have a good answer. When trying to remember back further then that day its always darkness, fear, and pain. Lily had hoped to find her family one day, but from everything she had already looked in to they just seemed to have up and disappeared. Hopefully if and when she got back home, Max could help find out more information on them. It was possible she could ask a certain commander for some help as well.

The door opens and the young prince walks in with a tray of food setting it on the table. "Well your story checks out. I am so sorry for the confusion, and have contacted your Alpha. I know you have been waiting a while so I thought to bring you something to eat," he said taking the lid off revealing a sandwich and some fruit. Seeing no harm Lily sat at the table saying, "Thank you. I am glad the rumors about you were false." Taking a bit the flavor hit just right and her stomach didn't say no.

"Rumors? Bah! People are fickle. Their words don't mean much unless they are striking the right deal. On no you eat up. I had something while I was gathering information, and my what a busybody your are. And now with this new look! With you being the one behind the scenes at the Wolf Palace, you made your "sister" look most valued when she has no worth other than her bloodline. I just knew Alisa was a fool, but always thought she had a brain she hid. Glad you could clear that up for me," he said walking around the room. Her stomach was getting full and her body started feeling light. Having eaten half the fruit she didn't think to check the flavor profile.

"I knew I would need a strong capable female who could not only give me strong heirs, but handle the enormous amount of paperwork that comes with ruling a Clan and kingdom. Then theirs the prophecy of the Alpha Pairs which will give the strongest pair ultimate power over all creatures. And it seems you are of one of the bloodlines, each one having its own traits passed down. Aww what I would give for that power," he kept going on as her body felt heavier and heavier. The feeling in her limbs and tails was so numbing that she could hardly move.

"What.....the.....hell....have.....you...done...to me?" Lily tried to say, but had little ability to move at all, "You.....said you...spoke....with....Max?" "No, I said I spoke with your Alpha, and he said I could keep you. Doesn't that sounds promising?" he said in an sickening sweet voice as he scratches on of her wolf ears. Picking her up he moves her to the bed face up. "You are quite pretty, I will admit. Had you shown even a small interest in me I would have done this the right way, but you chose my brother over me. He's not even the heir and you still chose his friendship over my courtship. Well now you won't have a choice at all," he said as he starts cutting her cloths off her body as if he's unwrapping a present. She tried to roll away, but her body was like lead not even a hand would moved. She tried to think her way out of this as well as prayed to the moon goddess, Goddess please I beg you! help me!
