Chapter 13 - -Stone Dial-

As if there was a concise agreement within the group, no one said a word. Instead they all appeared to have been mesmerized by the allure of mysteries behind those doors.

Putting aside the thoughts about their just formed Seal, with eager tension and Alex taking the lead. The distance between them and the door was quietly covered with cautious steps, no one felt conceited about their increase in strength as anything here could kill them.

"Go"

The silence was broken with a cold order from Alex, relinquishing his role as the forefront man, he stopped at the entrance, apparently not wanting to step into the chamber first , and instead turned towards the white haired boy who almost jumped in fright in response, appearing meek but walked forward, terrified my Alex.

The group was entrenched in instant silence, no one said a word at the misgiving act.

Meanwhile, Flynn's eyes glinted; not that he hated the sight of bullies as that was none of his concern, instead it was that Alex's attitude towards him was rather confusing.

It was usual for students from Imperial to condemn those from Fortunate Royals, considering them to be their arch-enemies, a bunch of fortunate slump picks living on free education, often referred to as Commoners. Having the last 6 years built on this, just like he had been threatened with a wind sword placed to his neck, earlier, his opinion towards Alex had been one of cautiousness from the start. But now it seemed the opposition was also maintaining the same view towards him. Somehow managing to finally come to terms with reality.

One, Inheriting Wills didn't matter the school one went to, neither did attending a more expensive, standard and classic school guaranteed a useful Will.

Two was something he was very sure about, due to unrevealed traits of his Will, adding to the fact that they all currently had a Seal, which lead to further effectiveness of a Will…

… Without doubt, Alex now considered Flynn a treat, knowing nothing about him became an anomaly he couldn't control. While he didn't know much about the ebony skinned girl, Amelia, the past few days they had spent running already revealed that her Will wasn't vital in combat or she would have fared much better than she did, merely relying on luck to survive.

'Thinking from the opposition's view sure is interesting. '

'It was good I attended Psychological classes.'

Flynn thought, casting a brief glance towards Alex, as their eyes happened to clash in sync.

Whilst Alex on the other hand, filled with confined enmity about using his own school mate as meat shield while there were two Fortunates present, his eyes became cold.

It was cool to hurt your own home, but not when another person did the same. This was how Alex felt, but somehow having his rationality over his emotions made him realize that the ebony skinned girl with curly hair would join force with the big youth, whose physique and height didn't look younger than him if he showed any hostility.

Though he felt he had a higher chance of winning due to his own Will which partially granted him a weapon when no one had any, the stakes were too high to risk.

Besides, there was also the need for human sacrifices, the more they were in number the more days they had to live by. Having a cohort of 11 reduced to 4 was a proof.

And about Jack, he didn't care much about the bastard either. Who knew what the meek looking youth was still hiding. To be honest he had felt threatened earlier when he saw the Terracotta push open the thick doors, but it turned out there was a price to pay for such. Now his top most goal was to dismiss him, despite not liking the thought of it, he realized the bastard was actually much of a danger than the two Fortunate students, considering the amount of grudge he had in his heart against him.

Thinking about all this, he focused on Jack, the white haired boy who cautiously walked into the chamber and towards the center of it where there was a dial that reflected a soft glow that seemed to illuminate it.

Silence…

1 minute passed, nothing happened, the white haired boy still appeared alive, apparently standing beside the dial but looking mesmerized by what was on it which glowed brightly.

Glancing at the pompous looking girl, Angela, Alex made a sign for them to move, maintaining a sense of obliviousness towards the other two. Apparently their path was safe for the time being , and no one knew what would happen when the third or fourth stepped on, but if taken note there seemed to have been a figurative sense of numbers on how traps activated.

In response to the act of division created neither Flynn or Amelia seemed to be in resentment, feeling it was natural since it was the other side that paid the price.

Following behind with a gap of five steps, Amelia was the fourth to step into the chamber while Flynn followed two steps after.

While it might have seemed they were just taking random steps, if looked at carefully, where they each placed their foot was the same the white haired boy had taken, having completely memorized it in short term, a decent level of intelligence expected of Bearers.

Stepping into the grand chamber, Flynn's expressionless face crumbled into that of amazement.

Not only did the floor have ancient murals carved into it, it extended to each side of the wall, depicting strange shaped humanoid creatures with animal heads, holding a bad on their left with something similar to a watch on their right. The ceiling especially was covered in a star diagram carved into it, pinpointing towards the center of the Chamber, shocking Flynn, and the rest of the group, with Alex appearing alarmed as he hurriedly walked towards the stone slab.

There, at the center of the ceiling was a man sized hole that transferred moonlight into the chamber.
