Chapter 2 - Two-horned Storm Dragon

The Coldrock Mountain was located near the Coldrock City, one of the many cities under the Magiz Kingdom.

Walking through the city taking a step at a time, without any concern or disturbances. Zlatan made his way to the West Gate of the city, where the foot of the mountain lay.

Fortunately, the monster had been found by the guild in a bordering kingdom of the Auburn Empire, where the main territory of Silvar Guild was located.

Though it did save the time of traveling for much longer periods, Zlatan still decided to walk the distance anyway.

He was always up for torturing himself, hoping to atone for all the pain he'd caused to other's in his lifetime.

Yet, no matter the number of scars which filled his entire body, being hidden under the armour's covering. For Zlatan, it was far from enough to pay for the sins he'd committed.

Arriving at the Coldrock City after 3 days of walking through the daytimes, and nights without making a stop. Nothing had dared to interfere with him, as the entire world knew his name— Zlatan Elmore. The ravenous beasts of the night cowered at his presence and the respect he received from people wherever he went, couldn't match up to that of any king or even the Emperor's.

In all, within him, he deserved none of it, not even a single spec. They got everything wrong, he wasn't the good guy rather the villain instead– something he alone could see.

Almost at the West Gate, Zlatan made his way through a food street bustling with activities and people everywhere. The sky had darkened, torches and lamps lighting up the city brightly as the sweet aroma of different delicacies filled the air. This of course, caused many to scramble for a plate of these for any amount, spellbound to its aromas.

Despite that, Zlatan sensed nothing, his strong cravings for food long gone. He couldn't even recall the last time he'd eaten. Constantly feeding off Spiritual Energy, as it did give him energy and satisfaction comparable to what normal food would.

But what actually made food special? It definitely wasn't only the satisfaction it gave. It was the taste, aroma, sensation, excitement it brought to your buds and heightening to your senses. It was that cravings for more it left behind each eaten portion. The music it caused the tongue to sing happily and the pleasure it brought. Still, to him nothing could ever bring back the joy he always had in food— nothing at all.

From afar, the guards at the gates immediately recognized him. Quickly, they went to work with mechanisms and machinery moving in order to open up the gates.

Lining up on the walls, they all greeted and acknowledged his presence.

With that, Zlatan made his way out of the city into the dark night, towards the foot of the mountain.

His gaze straight ahead, nothing caused it to shift even for a second. Not the occasional beasts which would cross the path before him to the other side, nor the greetings from the hunters pursuing them.

Walking up the mountain and halfway through it, he didn't bother to search for the location of the dragon. Back then, he had severed off one of its horns while Gorsa had taken a leg, attracting its wrath which he knew was meant for him. After all monster instincts had sharper senses and better memories than females, so he was sure to get detected about now.

*ROAARRR!!!

The earth quaked heavily at the dragon's mighty roar, the mountain shook and even the Coldrock City and surrounding areas felt its impact.

Unfazed, the S-class Hunter stood still and stared up to the sky as the silhouette of a large being could be seen above the clouds.

*ROAARRR!!!

The dragon's resounded once again, now throwing the nearby city into an uproar. Still, Zlatan just watched carefully to confirm it to be what he'd been looking for. After all, he'd still slay it eventually if it wasn't it, although he had other plans for that Dragon Monster in particular.

Soon, meters above him in the air was a black storm dragon monster with a fore leg less and a severed horn.

The wind around it was wild just like first, its intensity being much lower than before. It had one of its horns severed, having brought its abilities down to a Peak Half-King Tier instead.

Confirming his kill, as if seeing a glimpse of hope once again, some of the life in his dead eyes resurfaced and for the first time in years – Zlatan Elmore smiled again.

The monster was enraged and had long recognized his scent and without hesitation, it flapped down heavily at him sending not just a huge gust of wind but an entire windstorm. Having the smile still cropped up his face, he didn't make a move as the windstorm wept past his position. Clearing after, the dragon couldn't see a body of any sort, being confused for a second before its confusion turned into pain.

*ROARR!!!

The dragon's roar was much more of a pained one, than to show off its might and supremacy. As like butter, its second horn unable to be severed by any weapon below the Half-King Tier, was severed off. In the air right near the Dragon's head, he looked at its eye and making sure that it had its gaze on him. Zlatan tossed the severed horn in the air, and with the flat side of his sword like a baseball bat.

*WHACK!

He sent the horn flying and disappearing into the night sky, generating a tear from the Storm Dragon.

"Hahahaha, haven't had a good laugh in ages! Wasn't that fun huh?!" Zlatan exclaimed loudly, failing to notice the head of the dragon now tilted in its direction with its mouth opened up.

"Now, its just me and you without your annoying abili—oops!" Zlatan said, but suddenly felt the temperature rising and a burning sensation behind him.

Just then, a spray of fresh and hot flames rushed out of the dragon's mouth, being so hot that the air burnt up.

"Hah, how about we finish off what Gosra begun then!" Zlatan yelled out from below, standing right beside its only fore leg remaining— the left one. "Bet you'd agree alright!!"
